In response to the complaint #***
Intrigue Jewelers was happy to serve the guest on the days listed in the case when the customer came in looking for an engagement ring of a specific type with an equally specific budgetAfter determining that a natural diamond would
not fit into this budget, a Lustour Stone was suggested as an alternative to fit within the customer's budgetThese stones are in a separate showcase within our store clearly market as a diamond alternative with placards and brochures on the counter available for customers to read and take that detail the man made process and the comparisons and benefits of these stones to genuine diamondsAs the customer was aware and noted in the second sentence of his complaint, it is a "man-made diamond" similar to a moissanite or cubic zirconiumThe customer chose this stone based on it's cost savings
At the time of purchase, the customer was aware of what he was purchasing and how it would fit into his budget as well as his engagement experienceThe attached copy of the customer receipt that was provided at the time of purchase clearly lists a purchase of a Lustour stone with no mention or listing of "diamond" or "geniune diamond", and the customer left with a brochure which is attached to this response for review that details the creation process of stoneThe first sentence of this brochure that the customer retained, and that we used as a selling tool reviewed with the customer, reads "Lustour is a lab created marvel..."No attempt was made to mislead our customerFurther adding to our belief that the customer was aware of the details of his purchase, his mother was with him and purchased an identical product on the basis it was a manmade stone to replace her aging cubic zirconium in her existing wedding setShe has since returned and picked up her ring and has made no attempt to return her stoneBoth mother and son were involved in the same selling process
In response to the customer's response to a request for a refund, the purchase was made during our widely publicized sale event that lasted through JulyThis event carried a No Return policy which was clearly noted in our print, radio, and social media advertisements and by signs in each showcase of our store and even hanging from the ceiling that list "Due to the Circumstances ALL SALES MUST BE FINAL No Refunds or Exchanges." Both the showcase containing the engagement ring setting and the Lustour stone contained these signs which are attached to this emailOur return policy also does not allow refunds or exchanges on Clearance merchandiseBoth items purchased were sold at an advertised clearance discountYou will notice this policy is attached to this response as a scan of the information printed on the back of the customer's receiptAdditionally, special order items are non refundableThe Lustour stone selected was considered a special order as it was custom made and shipped by the companyThe attached receipt lists in bold letters "Special Order" next to the stone item #43304-Further documentation is also available to show that this stone was a special order, and you will also notice this policy attached as a part of the customer's receipt
In response to the customer's response to a refusal of refund due to the time frame of the special order process, the ring that was selected was purchased independently of the stoneThe ring remained in our possession while the Lustour company created and shipped the stoneThe appearance of the ring in our store does not signal that the special order process has not been startedOur store treated this customer and order with the utmost importance and timeliness
Based on the customer's acknowledgement that the stone is man-made prior to money being exchanged, our clear return policy placed throughout the store during our sale event of ALL SALES MUST BE FINAL, our clear return policy for clearance discount items, and our clear return policy for special order items, we are unable to offer this customer a refund However, in an effort to resolve this issue, Intrigue Jewelers would be happy to place the customer's ring in our showcase on Consignment at an attempt to resell the ring at a price set by the sellerFurthermore in an attempt to work with the customer, we will waive the typical consignment fee and retain only the $listed on the attached receipt as a Repair cost.
