services have been provided in accordance with our contract.  Furthermore, we make it very clear in all ofour literature and contracts that we do not evaluate, make promises of successor profit, that the purchase of these services is high risk, etc.   The complainant signed her understanding of this many times.  Coincidentally, the complainant is making these claims within a month of her services being completed. We also addressed her concerns regarding the companies to which we submitted heridea.  We explained our process of using the companies’ areas of interest to match our clients’ inventions.  Since the client could not be specific as to which companies she believed to be non-existent, we are unable to investigate this claim further.InventHelp has upheld its contractual obligations and provided its services.  On the other hand, the complainant has not fulfilled her obligations and has not paid for her services as she still owesover $3800.  Nevertheless, we reached out to the complainant and resolved her concerns. At this time we respectfully request that your file on this complaint be closed.Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.Sincerely,[redacted]Compliance Manager

We are writing to update you on our efforts regarding this complaint. We spoke again with the complainant regarding his concerns.  While we do not agree with the claims in the complaint, we nevertheless worked with the complainant and resolved his concerns.  An agreement has been sent to the complainant for his signature. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Sincerely, LARK B[redacted]Compliance Manager

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
Regards,
[redacted]Invent is not telling the truth. If they stated they confronted me about a similar idea or the same, I would not move forward with this invention. I paid for the company to do a patent search on the invention out of good faith with invent help, and they was not truthful a honest to lye and stated to me that there was not anything similar or the same invention on the market to receive a great amount of funds from me. The company needs to be investigate with this complaint. They are still asking for funds from me after the cancellation. I did not order a finance for this invention from any bank or credit company. I was not aware of the company wrong doing to me. So, this is considered a fraud.  This company took it among themselves to finance me. If we cannot resemble this matter, I will go to the next step of hiring a attorney. My offer stand!

I am rejecting this response because:This company is sneaky and dodging the issues. I called several times in advance warning that if they did not do better work I would stop paying. I am now requesting a refund for all monies paid and the money that I now owe to the credit agency. There are entire organizations dedicated to exposing how terrible this company is.I have showed the materials to our attourney, and to potential business partners. Their only reaction was to scoff at how poorly they were done and to applaud the young lady I had to hire in Invent Helps stead.invent help never produced satisfactory work, however I was verbally given an ultimatum: "Sign that it's satasfatory, or you won't be in the trade show, and your investment will be wasted"Similar to how at the initial meeting my invention was praised by Jim, but he told us to check the "No" box on the paper that asked if he had made any review of the invention at all  invent Help was hired to do their best work, and promote my product. What they have done is poorley, and late (breach) execute my wishes. Due to the terrible quality our attournies say it obvious they only care about making the money up front, and then, if it's an easy enough idea, they do Thor best to get the 20%.The evidence I have will hold up in court. The contracts I signed are invalid as they were verbally coached by Jim.
Sincerely,

We are writing to update your bureau on our efforts regarding this complaint.  While we did not speak with the complainant on June 13, 2016, we did reach out to the complainant again and resolved his concerns.  At this time we respectfully request that you file on this matter be closed.Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention.Sincerely,LARK B[redacted]Compliance Manager

The complainant contracted with InventHelp® for the preparation of a Basic Information Package (BIP) report on his invention.  The BIP assembles basic information about an invention, idea, concept or new product and the history of its development in a report format.  The BIP assembles...

basic information about an invention using standardized marketing information as well as information which the inventor provided to us.  We also refer our clients to an independent patent attorney for the preparation of a Preliminary Patentability Search & Opinion.     The complainant has concerns with regard to his BIP.  In order to address these concerns, the researcher spoke directly with the complainant.  The complainant wanted the BIP to focus on bicycle delivery in the food and beverage industry.  As a result of that conversation, the researcher revised that information and provided statistics regarding bicycle delivery people.  The researcher also included restaurants as part of the potential markets.  Upon completion, we mailed the BIP directly to the complainant. The complainant also mentioned that he had some financial hardship in his conversation with the researcher and in an email to the sales representative that “…a refund would be an enormous financial relief for me at this time…”   While we are sympathetic with his current financial situation, we do not agree that InventHelp should refund our fee for a service we provided.   While we do not agree with this complaint, simply in a good faith effort to resolve this matter, we are willing to refund the client $300.  Should the complainant wish to accept this offer, he should contact us.  Otherwise, there is nothing more we are willing to do. Sincerely, LARK B[redacted]Compliance Manager   Tell us why here...

accordance with our contract until such time that the complainant stopped paying for the services.  Upon receipt of this complaint we reached out to the complainant in an effort to resolve her concerns.  Her complaint is based solely on her belief that she should have been able to cancel her contract with our company at any time.  We explained to the complainant that our cancellation policy is extremely clear; in fact it is in bold print on all of our agreements. Nevertheless, we worked with the complainant and resolved her concerns.  Therefore, we respectfully request that your file on this matter be closed.  Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention.Sincerely,LARK B[redacted]Compliance Manager

entirety and completed in their entirety in 2015.  Further, the complainant was pleased with the services and complimented our company on several occasions; such as, “I will check off excellent and a job well done.”  “Thank you InventHelp.”  “The DVD is amazing.”  “Thank you for your hard work in this and appreciate your help.”   We are well aware of this complainant’s concerns as we have attempted to resolve this matter over the last several months.  The complainant’s claims in his complaint are simply not true.  No one at InventHelp told him nor do our contracts state that a client can stop payment at any time with no obligations.  His claims regarding Universal Payment Corporation are also not true.  In fact, he did sign a Retail Installment Contract agreeing to make monthly payments for the services for which he contracted.  However, he has not upheld his contractual obligations and did not pay for the services he has received.  In fact, he still owes nearly $5400, most of which is past due.   We believe this complaint is merely an attempt by the complainant to not pay for the services which he has already received.  Nevertheless, the complainant has refused any offers we have made in an effort to resolve this matter.

development in a report format.  The BIP report includes information already known to the inventor which they have supplied to us as well as standardized market information for the needs of inventors.  The cost of this service is $760.  To date, the client has paid $422.84.   It is our understanding that the sales representative called the complainant numerous times in an effort to schedule a meeting to deliver the complainant’s report.  The complainant never responded.  Upon receipt of this complaint, we also  reached out to the complainant by telephone and email, however, to date we have not heard back from him.  We are confident that if the complainant would speak with us, we would be able to resolve this matter amicably.  We encourage him to contact us.   Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention.   Sincerely,   LARK B[redacted] Compliance Manager Tell us why here...

faith review. Our records indicate that his services are being performed in accordance with his contract with us. We have prepared descriptive materials about the complainant's invention such as brochures, press releases and invention summaries and have submitted this information to companies. The complainant's invention was included in the [redacted] at our [redacted]. The complainant received 14 company responses as a result of his invention's [redacted]. His invention is also scheduled for inclusion in the Virtual Trade Show, which is his brochure shown on an electronic device.  We also referred the complainant to an independent patent attorney and his invention is now patent pending with the United States Patent & Trademark Office as a result.  The complainant acknowledged our company disclosures which clearly state the high-risk nature of invention services upon his initial contact with our company. As a factual matter, lnventHelp® has executed more licensing agreements than any other competing company. We publish and distribute our track record which shows in the past 5 years that we have entered into 236 license agreements on our clients' behalf with companies throughout the United States. We believe we have a long-standing record and do not believe that the complainant's efforts could surpass our own performance.  However, what we will not do, is promise, or guarantee a company will respond, much less express an interest in an invention. We believe this to be the root of the complainant's issue.  Incidentally, the complainant also signed a contract agreeing to pay a fee. It is the complainant who is in breach of contract and has not paid for the services he is receiving. It is also interesting that the complainant is demanding a refund of $11,000, when he only paid $6400; he still owes $7,000 of which $1400 past due.  We reached out to the complainant in an effort to resolve this matter and he refused to discuss his concerns.  Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Sincerely, Lark B[redacted]Compliance Manager

This complainant contracted with our company over 2 ½ years ago for assistance in submitting his invention to industry in the hope of obtaining a good faith review.     Upon receipt of this complaint we reached out to the complainant.  During our discussion, we explained...

each of the services we performed on his behalf as well as the dates that we notified him of our efforts.  Our company prepared descriptive materials about the invention such as brochures, press releases, invention summaries, placement in catalogs, etc., and submitted these materials to companies in the hope of obtaining feedback on the invention.  Our company also prepared a Virtual Invention Presentation (VIP) and the invention was included in our Virtual Trade Show.  The complainant’s press release was also posted to an online publicity distribution service.  His press release received 74,297 Headline Impressions from News Aggregators, 661 full press release reads and 212 Total Online Pickups as a result.  It is our understanding that the consumer’s invention is currently patent pending with the US Patent and Trademark Office.   Throughout the term of the services, we have no record that the complainant expressed any of the concerns stated in his complaint.  We believe it is unfair at this late date to make these unsubstantiated claims. While we do not agree that a refund in any amount is warranted, simply in a good faith effort to resolve this matter, in our discussion with the complainant we offered to cancel his account balance of over $2200 thereby relieving him of any further financial obligations.  The complainant indicated that he would get back to us.   In the meantime, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.   Sincerely, LARK B[redacted]Compliance Manager
