Inverness Falls Resort Reviews (1)

May long weekend 2016- We cut our stay short and the reason was the condition of the cabin While the view of the creek and lake are beautiful and listening to the sound of the falls relaxing, that is not enough to make up for the deplorable conditions in the cabinAnd you have to look past the garbage surrounding the back deck to enjoy the view...and old rag, Kleenex and toilet paper could be seen under and around the deck along with various pieces of left over construction material But yes, looking past that, a beautiful view
From the time we entered the cabin, we were shocked....only with great effort could we actually fit the key in the lock, there was old pasta noodles in the sink, dried food in between the stove and the cupboards (don't even want to know what would be lurking under the stove), cracked tiles on the floors, the "dining table" in the kitchen area was so sticky we couldn't use it...everything stuck to it despite the number of times we cleaned it - the varnish is disintegrating It was stifling hot - the blinds had been left open which made the room sunny and bright but let in all the heat When we plugged in the coffee grinder to the "power bar" glued to the wall above the stove, everything went dark...and then slowly the lights came back on The coffee maker is falling apart and the can opener is broken The plastic wine glasses provided for use by the hot tub...disgusting...would not drink out of them The years of grease on the stove...it appears to never have been cleaned properly....the playing cards in the kitchen drawer...so disgusting I wouldn't touch them...the weather gadget in the drawer didn't work, the lovely informational binder left in the cabin said we should find raid and coils on the shelf...none were provided, the air conditioner did not work And then there was the toilet...after the first flush...it quit working It was after hours, so as you had indicated, we could call the number posted if no one was in the office...we called...no one answered - no voicemail So, we were left to our own devices to deal with the toilet We used the recycle bin to fill the tank with water so we could flush My husband was partially successful in getting it to work but that was temporary and I don't feel that with paying the better part of $for a night stay should require the guest to fix the toilet The bathroom in general is like most of the cabin, in a general state of disrepair There is no circulation (no fan in the bathroom), the wall was falling apart behind the toilet and the loose tiles in the shower would collect considerable water and moisture - a breeding ground for mold and bacteria and the potential for serious health issuesWhile the rain shower head was nice, when I lifted the rug off the floor after having the first shower, the rug was filthy - it appeared that the bathroom floor had not been washed properly and given that the toilet and tub are mere inches from each other, this is very unsettling There was also an assortment of black hairs stuck to the white ceiling tiles The light over the sink was so badly rusted I was afraid to plug anything into it (the light fixture in the kitchen was in the same rusted state and bug filled) The inside of the medicine cabinet over the sink was also in disrepair The wicker furniture in the cabin was the only thing suitable to sit on - not comfortable but seemed to be in better condition than anything else in the cabin...the couch is basically brokenThe hot tub area left much to be desired...and even if it had appeared clean and in good condition, unless one is over 5'7" or very young and agile, it is unusable...I couldn't get into it...at 5'4" I needed a stool (there was none) so unusable for usIt looks good in the pictures on the your website, reality was totally different Caulking and glue may be temporary fixes but the abundance of both used throughout the cabin (walls, hot tub and floors) indicates to me that temporary fixes on top of temporary fixes are the norm The entire cabin is not level and there is a small but dangerous "step" between the kitchen area and the rest of the cabin...at night this is not visible...I fell walking from the "living room" to the kitchen and my husband tripped several times as well The dust on top of the chest of drawers is sufficient that it has been a long time since that has been cleaned properly - well past the point of dry dusting...the left over spider webs hanging from the ceiling have obviously been there for a long time as they are laden with dust and dirt and stuff (not recently spun), and the window by the hot tub appears not to have ever been cleaned No working smoke detector, no fire extinguisher, rusted plug in the bathroom, no GFI outlets in bathroom, dirty hot tub area...total state of disrepair inside and outAnd you need to pay in advance...in full...total waste of money...buyer beware
