Review: Purchased electrical fence from Invisible fence in [redacted] VA. on April 25 2013. On August 21 2013, receiver/transmitter board was damaged from storm. Warranty papers cover surge problems and device was corrected with new face board. The problem was I was billed for a $95 service charge and a $65 hourly labor fee for less than 10 minutes work. In addition, I was told in the future to bring panel to shop and not to call to avoid service fee. This was never mentioned, nor was any information listed under the warranty that includes any such fees, including service charges. When confronted, the Manager did lower the the cost to $95; however, I viewed this as unacceptable, due to the fact, I was told this was a lifetime warranty product, with nothing in writing about service charges or other fees. The main issue is that this device is only 4 months old and although it has been repaired, companies of this magnitude should not come up with hidden fees to milk their customers when their product has lasted 4 months.Desired Settlement: I would like to see that the store is contacted and a complaint was filed. In addition, regarding store policy, customers should be told that warranties do not cover service charges and hourly labor cost that I was billed for. Total $160 for a device that was 4 months old with a lifetime warranty.
