I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
When I first called to let them know our fence was not working, I spoke with Lisa I told her that we had excavators working in our yard and I thought the line had been cut She told me that if this was the case, an alarm would be going off It was not She had me check power to the outlet, which was functioning, and told me there was likely a problem with the box She told me JUST THE SERVICE CALL alone was $ This did not include any repairs My husband was at the house He was not informed that there would be additional charges beyond one hour He did not know the answer to any of the service man's questions and told the service man to call me When he called me, he also did not tell me that there would be additional charges I spoke with him at 12:pm and told him that he needed to contact the landscapers for more info on how to proceed, since they were in charge of the excavating I did NOT authorize any additional service beyond hour, nor did I authorize any additional charges and my card was billed without my knowledge of these extra labor charges.

As stated in the original complaint the customer was told the service call cost was $and then some, depending on the nature of the callOnce again I can not make that determination over the phoneWhen the tech arrived on site to begin the call, he noticed that the transformer to the transmitter was not only unplugged from the outlet, but it wasn't plugged into the transmitter eitherThis is why there was no blinking light or alarm on the transmitter during the initial call to determine what may be wrongBoth ends need to be plugged inWhen he reconnected everything the alarm went off indicating a break in the lineAt this point the tech began searching out breaksOver a period of time it was found that the line was not only broken in several locations, but large portions were missing and/or had been recently buried to a depth that our equipment was no longer able to detect.The customer also stated that she gave permission to our technician to contact her landscaper about proceedingThis all takes time/labor which resulted in a hour service call with the additional $chargeBusinesses need to charge for employees time/labor on job sitesThis is standard practice in the service industryI do not feel that our technician unjustly charged this customer or that a refund is merited

Our standard service fee is $145.00. This includes one hour of labor which would have covered the time needed to fix electronic issues. Additional labor hours are $45.00 per hr. Our technician was at this location from 11:15 to 1:15. One of the homeowners was on site and in contact with the...

technician the entire time. We were not informed at the time the service call was scheduled that major renovations to the property had taken place which is what resulted in a longer service call time due, to damage outside of the electronics. The problem was not repaired because the damage was caused by the company doing the renovations and the homeowner wanted them to take care of it, so that they did not incur additional expenses. Until a technician is on site and able to evaluate the situation, I am not able to determine how long a service call may take.
