UMR, my insurance company, noted Sally Jobe's submitted claim as “Diagnosis Is Not Appropriate For Service Billed – Submit Corrected Diagnosis.” I have talked with both Invision Sally Jobe representatives and UMR representatives on two occasions. Sally Jobe representatives told me this was my problem (not their diagnosis code) and I had to work it out with UMR or pay the $630. By calling back on August 28th, after receiving another bill for $630, Sally Jobe representatives informed me they would not be submitting a new diagnostic code or attempting to contact UMR to resolve the issue. Just pay up. UMR, on my behalf, called Sally Jobe and informed them there was a legal procedure for how they were to deal with incompatible codes and that it was not my job to figure out diagnostic codes, not was I to be billed. My EOB from URM says patient pays $0, because of the inappropriate diagnostic code.

Sally Jobe has operated outside of the established procedures for handling this claim and diagnostic code disagreements between the provider and insurance company. They should not hold me financial responsibility, nor require me to make calls to UMR.

Lastly, this same procedure was done a year previously and coded in such a manner that UMR accepted the claim. Sally Jobe was informed (by me) of the appropriate code that had met with UMR’s approval the year before, but refused to make any effort to change their code. I continue to receive monthly bills for $630 showing my responsibility to pay. No new EOD has been provided, so Sally Jobe has not submitted a new code or worked with UMR to determine the correct code.

First, I will say the place is beautiful, my tech was wonderful and my experience, while there for my Breast MRI was fine.
Then the trouble started. After asking 3 times to confirm Pre-certification with my insurance, this was done incorrectly. Then the claim was filed improperly. The staff was extremely uncooperative, as they get paid more when the claim is denied. I got stuck with an exorbitant bill, 3 times what they would have been paid by the insurance company.
Even the insurance company said it was covered, but miscoded. Finally, when I refused to pay the bill, they sent it to collections. They would not work with me to pay it at all.
I will use any other imaging center who knows how to work with insurance companies and customers.
