Mr*** brought us his Mitsubishi Evolution for us to tune for him back on August 2nd of Since we had never seen the car before and had not done any of the work on it, the tuner found and addressed a few small issues with him before actually doing any tuning There was no
charge for these items The tune was completed over the course of two hours and eight dyno pulls and Mr*** left with his vehicle that same day He lives over an hour away in Mansfield so he had a great opportunity to test the car and see how well it drove in just his drive home We had no communication at all, via phone or email, until April of (months later) saying that the tune we did was not right and the car wasn't running properly We requested that Mr*** provide us with a video of what the car was doing which he emailed over on April 8thWe made sure that he was aware that tunes don't "Go bad" or change at all but many other things on the car does as it ages and most likely there was an issue with a sensor or a boost leak or spark plugs or something else causing the car to run poorly We scheduled Mr*** in to get a diagnosis done which he did on April 20th His spark plugs were fouled and his primary oxygen sensor was also bad so we advised both items get addressed before going any further An estimate was written for the necessary parts and labor and eventually Mr*** approved the needed repairs The work was completed on 4/23/and the car continued to stall after being rev'ed as it originally did In looking over the car further it was discovered that the plastic bottle cap that had been used in lieu of an actual block off plate had folded over and was leaking We did smoke test to confirm there were no other leaks presentWe then made a block off plate to replace the cracked and broken bottle cap, performed a test on the system and found multiple boost leaks (all of which we repaired at no charge) After all was said and done mechanically, we called the tuner to ask his opinion on the carHe informed us that when he originally tuned the car it had a re-circ'd BOV and the car had been converted from that re-circulation sto a vent-to-atmosphere set-upWhen this was done, it needed to be re-tuned to run properly In other words, the vehicle was changed from how it was tuned last year which caused the issues it was having We offered to re-tune the car to the proper method (speed density) for this new modifcation (Which were not done by IPS) at no charge just to make him happy, but Mr*** declined and said he didn't want that type of tune in the car We offered to convert the car back to the re-circulation sit was originally tuned on and the customer refused that as well since it could not be done for free without the necessary parts. We made every attempt to offer Mr*** a solution to a problem that he himself created, but nothing short of refunding him money for a tune done nearly a year ago was acceptable Since we did nothing to create the problem and have already offered multiple solutions (One of them being free), there really is nothing left to discuss

I do not accept the response statements from the business
and will provide responses to their inaccurate statements and claims.
1.
The business stated that since I live one hour
away, that I had the opportunity while driving my vehicle home to test the tune.
As the business knew at the time, and its typical with having your vehicle
tuned, the customer will bring their vehicle on a trailer and take it home on a
trailer. This is what I did when they originally tuned my vehicle.2.     The business did not request at any time that I
provide a video of my vehicle and the related issues. After many phone calls
and a lack of response from the business, I suggested I send a video so they
could see and hear how poorly my vehicle was running. Also, due to the fact
that I live one hour away, I did not want to waste a trip to the business
without them acknowledging the issues with my vehicle.3.
When my vehicle was there, they diagnosed that
it needed new spark plugs and a new oxygen sensor. In fact, both of these items
were replaced before the original tune, which was less than 2,000 miles prior.
Based on their statement that replacing these 2 items would help rectify the
problem, I approved the labor and materials. After these were replaced, my car
ran no better and would hardly run in their parking lot during the test drive
by the service manager (Mark C[redacted]).4.
The business did perform a smoke test without my
approval or authorization. They ultimately charged me for the smoke test before
they would release my vehicle to me. They performed the unauthorized smoke
test. A smoke test does not locate boost leaks as the business stated. In order
to find boost leaks, the business would have had to perform a pressure test
which simulates driving the vehicle under any condition while simulating boost
on the turbo to identify all possible leaks.5.
The business claimed that when my vehicle was
originally tuned by them, it had a re-circ’d blow off  valve and that I later changed the blow off
valve to a vent to atmosphere blow off valve. They discounted their earlier
claims that spark plugs. Oxygen sensor and smoke test would help fix the
vehicle and changed their story to place blame on me my supposed modifications
to the vehicle after the tune. I have attached proof for the purchase of the vent
to atmosphere blow off valve which I purchased on February 2014 and installed
on my vehicle shortly thereafter.  This
remained on my vehicle from that time, until they performed the tune, and until
this date.  I have video proof while they
were tuning my vehicle on the dyno showing that the vent to atmosphere was on
the vehicle during the tune.  I can also
provide signed statements from multiple unrelated individuals that my vehicle
was not modified in one way at all after the tune was performed.I want nothing more than a refund
for the original tune, as the business did not perform it properly.  I did nothing to my vehicle to cause any
change from August 2014, and the vehicle has not run properly from that time,
causing me to only be able to drive my parents vehicle. It is obvious that the
business is trying to blame me for a poor job and additional uneducated and
insufficient efforts to rectify the original problem.  They have not been honest, helpful or professional
throughout this process.  Even if they
were to offer to fix it at this point, I have no trust in the business.I have attached copies of receipts for the purchase of my vent to atmosphere blow off valve, the original tune and the additional diagnosis, parts and labor performed in May for your reference.
 Regards,
