To Whom It May Concern:In regards to the individual instrument return:The return procedure is that upon receipt of the return, the instrument is then submitted to the repair shop for inspectionsAt that time, any necessary repairs are performed and the deposit (minus the cost of the repair) is returned to the customer. This is explained in verbally and in writing after the order is placed and before the instrument is shipped out.In this case, the clarinet did not need any repair work and the full deposit was returned. The trombone, however, had a dent located on the upper left hand side of the bell that was not in existence before it was sent outThe customer, therefore, was responsible for the cost of the repairThis cost was deducted from the initial deposit that was given to us in the beginningPlease keep in mind that the customer did in fact have possession of the instrumentAlthough the one particular event was cancelled, it does not mean that someone removed the instrument from the case, or dropped a mouthpiece on the bell, or banged the instrument into a chair....the possibilities are endless.I am sorry the customer is upsetIn the future, I would kindly ask that he not consider to use our instruments for props in a play or a skit where damage could occur.ThanksTerryIQInstrument Rentals

I am rejecting this response because: The item was returned just like I received it. There was nothing wrong with either of the two returned instruments. If there was a problem with them someone from that business would have called me me when they received it back. I had to call to see why no one had made contact with me after they received it. I put a mail confirmation on it so I would know when they go it. I had received information from the 4 other rental businesses that I used on the Internet and I thought it was strange that I had not heard from this place. If something had been wrong with the instruments I have no doubt someone from this place of business would have made contact with me when they got it back. They are trying to pull a fast one and take money that is not due to them. Please refund the remaining of my deposit. I honor your contract and you are just trying to still from me.

To Whom It May Concern:This letter is written in response to the complaint submitted on 7/22/2014, ID [redacted].We rent student musical instruments. The customer, in order to process the order, was aware of the terms and conditions of the rentals agreement. In this specific instance, we sent the...

customer a pre-rented trombone. I personally inspected the trombone before it was packed and personally inspected the trombone upon receipt. Upon receipt of the rental return, I noticed a large dent in the bell. I can only speculate how it happened. However, because it was in the possession of the customer, it therefore, becomes the customer’s responsibility to pay for any damage that may occur. This includes lost or stolen instruments, and any instruments that my have been damaged during the course of shipping. The fee to repair the dented bell was $25. This fee was taken out of the initial deposit. The remainder of the deposit was returned to the customer in accordance with our policies.Thank you,Terry R[redacted] IQInstrumentRentals.com

I am rejecting this response because: There was no dent in anything because the event that I was to use the instrument for was cancelled. The trombone and the clarinet were both returned as I received them both. This is a made up charge to keep more of my funds and this guy knows this. I asked him over the phone to send me a picture of the trombone dent and his reply was"it's already been fixed", what a bunch of crap. This company is running a scam on costumers that they aren't renting to for a long period. Consumers be aware.

What is the purchase price of the bass I am renting and what is the balance to ownership. I was not given the original cost of the bass only the number of months to ownership (39). I wish to return the bass and the cost to return something so huge may not make it worth it to return it. The return shipping was $1300-1800 Also, I expressed dissatisfaction with the product and was told that it was fine. Since it was shipped directly from the Chinese manufacturer, there is no way they can attest to it's quality. They made no effort to exchange or replace or repair the instrument so it is obvious that they do not care about product quality or customer satisfaction. Furthermore, No music shop will touch this horribly made instrument to repair it, so I'm just stuck unless I can find someone to ship this POS back at a more reasonable rate.

I will reflect all of this on social media as well as the fact that you allowed me access to an instrument when no one else gave me that chance. My son wanted to be in strings and this gave him the opportunity to practice at home and excel at school. something was better than nothing. I'm appreciative he had something but it feels a bit predatory.

I'll let the public decide

Review: I rental two instruments for a reunion skit and never got to use them because of an incident involving a tick infestation in the area that we were to use them. I immediately place the instruments back in the carriers and put them away until I shipped them back. I get a refund check which the fee and the shipping was charged, as part of the contract. I also notice on the memo a note that stated "money for dent". This company or person is running a scam here. I ask the man that I spoke with to send me a photo of the dent and his reply was it was fixed already. What a scam this company has going. I want my money for this fictitious claim refunded immediately. These people should be shame of trying to pull this. I have several reunions every year and I know not to use them again. Sad!Desired Settlement: They have falsely taken $25.00 from me. I will assume because I didn't keep it for several months they felt they didn't make anything off of me, but I told him it was only for a weekend and a skit from the start before I placed my order.
