Review: My computer was dropped off to iRepair after it was damaged by water. The company held it for months without fixing it and made one attempt to contact us before throwing away all my data and the computer itself. Both items are not recoverable. I lost an expensive computer and ten years of work. I called to find out what happened and the owner was rude and dismissive, saying that what I did was unacceptable and too bad, but they can't get it back He repeated "it is what it is" dismissively, many times, and offered no reparations.

I want my computer replaced. I can never get the files back, but I had planned to take the computer to a better, more reputable business to repair it. Now I can't even do that. I also want to investigate their business practices. The way this was handled was extremely suspect.

Review: I had dropped my iPhone 4 in some water and the screen was flickering and sometimes completely black. When my alarm clock went off and I received a phone call, I knew that the phone itself was working fine, it was just an issue with my screen. I took the phone into iRepair Seattle and the girl there told me that they were going to try to fix it for $40, but if they could not there would be no charge. Great. Before I left my phone at the shop overnight, the girl took it apart briefly to inspect for water still inside. She saw none but said that my phone charger port may need to be replaced for an extra $30. I told her that through my phone carrier's insurance plan, I could get a brand new iPhone 4 for $50, so if she felt that was the case, to not replace it and just give the phone back to me. The next day as soon as the shop opened, I called back to reemphasize to the girl there that I did NOT want a new charger port. I just wanted them to see if they could fix the water damage. She said OK. I called back a couple hours later and spoke with [redacted], the store owner. He said that it looked like the phone was going to work fine but that he was just getting to it and to call back in 15. I did and reached the girl again. She said that they did replace the charger port but they were only going to charge me $45. Whatever, I thought, as long as it works. So I went to pick it up as soon as I got off work. It seemed to work fine so I paid and left. I took my bus home and was listening to Pandora radio. 30 minutes later, while I was at home, the screen flickered and went black again. I looked at the receipt that was emailed to me, which said they have a "30 day repair guarantee" so I figured they would either try again or refund me. I called iRepair today (Thurs 10/17) and was told by both the girl and [redacted] that I would not be getting a refund. [redacted] told me that I know nothing.I left my phone in the shop overnight and called the next day when they opened to see when it might be available for pickup.

I would like a full refund which came to $49.28 after tax. Granted, I do not know much about phones, that is why I took my phone to a repair shop. I know water damage can really hurt a phone which is why the "If we can't fix it, no charge" policy sounded good. I asked them not to put a new charger port in (because I knew I did not need it) and they did. For $.78 more I could have received a BRAND NEW PHONE. The receipt from iRepair says "All repairs guaranteed for 30 days". Mine lasted 30 mins.
