Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
To clarify, there was no discussion about alignment with the man [redacted] that measured. A 65 year old couple would not agree to step off their sidewalk into gravel, and over a cluster of sprinkler heads to get in their front door. Yes, we would happily pay an additional $300 to have the job completed with the gate centered with the front entry sidewalk, and a panel on each side with correct blended floral design that extends over both side panels and gate.

When the call was fielded by [redacted], he verbally quote that the gate would be somewhere between $400 and $500. I will drop a check in the mail, despite the fact that I feel the customer is not right.

Original case [redacted] Irish Iron responded to that complaint by saying it would refund me $100.00 which I have not yet received.Irish Iron needs to follow through with their agreement to refund me $100.00 as stated in response to the original case [redacted].

Could you please send me a copy of my original complaint please?  I would like to use it on [redacted].  I do not want this company coming out to to my house any more.  The owner was going to charge us to have his workers fix the gates and still not guarantee the work.  I would rather pay some one else.He is such a jerk!  I am through with him

I am sorry that you are unhappy with the situation. After we discussed your job in the shop, signed the contract in shop, we sent our sales guy out to measure and discuss your job. He discussed with your husband the placement of the gate in alignment with the front...

door. A drawing of the project was provided on the contract and it clearly showed a gate on the right hand side, and the fixed panel on the left. We also had you our to our shop to view the finished project before it went off to powdercoat. As discussed before you left for vacation, the total cost of the trip down there and to make the changes was $600 but we would meet you in the middle at $300 in the interest of customer satisfaction.    I am happy to take over for [redacted] on getting this finished they way you would like it done for the $300. We would also be willing to terminate the contract at your request but cannot do it for the $1200 you initially paid. That is not even half of the contracted price when you include the change order for the screen add on. I have no doubt that we can work through this and you can have the beautiful gated courtyard that you desired.

Review: When I called Irish Iron at [redacted] I was quoted by [redacted] $400.00 to install a gate in an existing wrought iron fence.

When [redacted] was finished installing the gate he said the amount was $500.00. I disagreed and he said pay it or he'll take the gate.Desired Settlement: I would like [redacted] at Irish Iron to stand by his word that the amount quoted to me was $400.00 which means I was overcharged $100.00 and should be refunded that amount.

Original case [redacted] Irish Iron responded to that complaint by saying it would refund me $100.00 which I have not yet received.

Review: On March 14, 2014, my wife & I went to Irish Iron, met with Mr. [redacted] (who seems to be the manager/owner) to see their products. We received a price for a 8'8" approx. metal stair rail (they called it "grab bar"), with a powder-coat finish. He quoted $150 for the metal rail & $50 for the powder-coating. He said the work was a simple order that would be completed between other, larger jobs, and likely within 2 weeks. Not having gotten any quotes from any other firms for the railing, we accepted it. Mr. [redacted] wrote a contract, which I (Greg Ptucha) signed & took home (both top original & yellow carbon). I asked if he wanted a deposit & he said "no." Today (4/11), after having confirmed via phone with Mr. Hill(4 times) that the job was complete and ready for pick-up, my wife left work early, retrieved me, and we spent almost an hour getting to the business in heavy traffic. Mr. [redacted] knew we planned to arrive around 4pm. We arrived a little after 4PM to find out he left for an errand. Another employee took my contract, tried to find our railing, but couldn't. We waited for Mr. [redacted] to return. He found the railing, but it was not powder-coated...it was not completed. Since calling to confirm completion, I was frustrated enough to say "I'm not coming back here" again. Mr. [redacted] refused to give me the contract (which his employee took from me earlier) and said that if it weren't for me being "old" that he would "fk me up"--which I took to be a threat of physical assault. Twice he said he would "lien my house" for a product that was contracted for, but which hasn't been produced, nor provided when promised. Mr. Hill's behavior with me was the most unprofessional I've encountered as a consumer. I've never been threatened with assault from a business owner for a product I wanted to buy from their firm. Though hope, but don't expect a happy resolution (I hope to never have contact with him), I request Revdex.com of NE CA help and to to let other consumers know the business should be avoided.Desired Settlement: Please help us resolve this with out further problems and...Your web site should alert consumers that the business does not operate in an ethical and professional manner.

Response:

This is simply not true. There was about 7 to 11 witnesses here at that time and I have video of this to prove my case. This customer came to my shop to pick up a rail I was not here. While I was gone this person was yelling at my employees. When I arrived he started yelling at me as well.He kept saying"I had to drive all the fking way across town and this dam rail is not ready"I said im very sorry sir.He said "you better drop this rail off at my house or im going to call the Revdex.com.I said im sorry sir we are not going to do that.I said im sorry your rail is not ready we will get it ready as soon as we can.He continued to follow me and yell at me.I even tryed to close my shop door and he kept yelling at me.Saying you told me 5 times it was ready.which is also not true.I even tryed to close my office door to try to get away from him and he would not leave he kept yelling he was going to call the Revdex.com.I kept asking him to leave and he stood at the door yelling. So I just stayed in my office until he left.I have many witnesses that watched this whole event. His wife was in the car with the windows down.I have video cameras at my shop that im sure will show all the witnesses and how he stayed at my front door and refused to leave. We do about 60 jobs at a time and we run into all kinds of crazy customers. And because the volume we do is so large were just bound to run into problems some times. But I would never talk to a customer like that. And I can send you all the proof you need.I not only had my employees standing there but also family members were there picking up there loved ones etc. There was even another customer here at the time as well. And im not sure yet but im pretty sure the guys from the store next door were even standing out side at the time as well.So we have about 7 to 11 witnesses that can send you signed accounts of what really happened. This customer thinks he can use Revdex.com as a way to intimidate shop owners like me.I just hope since I have so much proof that you will not let this customer take advantage and ruin my reputation and my business.I take great pride in my A+ rating I would never do anything to jeprodize that.I send every customer an email saying I have an A+ rating with the Revdex.com,so why would I risk that on a $200 rail? Please let me know if you need proof of any of this. thank you very much.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

1) One cannot achieve a mutually-agreeable resolution when Irish Iron's Bill [redacted] has misrepresented virtually everything about what was, in my 62 years, is the worst business transaction with which I've ever been involved.

2) Mr. [redacted] has operated in bad faith with me, and he seems willing to make up whatever version of "facts" he thinks might serve his purposes with Revdex.com.

3) This was, indeed, a small dollar transaction (so why would I bother pursuing this complaint?), but there was never any suggestion by him that he was accepting my business at below a minimum dollar amount that the firm had established as policy.

4) I take offense at his constant reference to age. After he told me the work was complete and ready for pick-up (four times via telephone!), and when it was not complete, I simply said, in a normal, business-like but firm tone... "I'm not coming back here again" -- at this point, his anger management threshold was exceeded, and he told me that, if I weren't "so old" that he would otherwise "F_ _ K you up" (as though I should be grateful he didn't do so). Now, when it serves his Revdex.com purposes, he claims he was doing a favor "at cost" for a feeble old fellow. I happen to be a vigorous, full-time professional who bicycles 12

miles daily to/from my job, so his constant references to age are, at

best, in bad taste.

4) My wife and I (she was present during ordering) never asked for favors, "at-cost" pricing or any special treatment.

5) Mr. [redacted] has no lien rights under CA's Business and Professional Code, as he's never provided a finished product--but he's threatened to file a lien.

6) Finally, if he has video "evidence" of my yelling and other bad behavior, then share it with Revdex.com and with me, so Revdex.com can decide who is being more truthful.

For my selfish purposes, "closure" would involve Mr. [redacted] (as Irish Iron) and I to agree to go our separate ways, as though we never had the misfortune of meeting. However, Revdex.com has a more fundamental issue about how it deals with a firm's proprietor who agrees to abide by Revdex.com's policies/rules/procedures and then makes no good faith effort to achieve mutual agreement and constantly misrepresents facts to protect his A+ rating. Revdex.com is doing a tremendous disservice to consumers if it brings "closure" to this type of complaint without significant sanction against a "bad actor" -- which, unfortunately, best describes Mr. Hill's behavior. You would be also be doing a disservice to Mr. Hill, since he needs to learn and to change his ways from his terrible behavior with me, and his abuse of the Revdex.com complaint process.

Response:

I maintain my position. This customer was trying to use the Revdex.com.to get me to deliver his rail.which he not only did not pay for but he I also was nice enough to first of all take on such a small job then I basically did it at cost just to be nice because I thought this was a nice elderly man and I was trying to help him out.And then instead of being grateful he tried to get more free stuff out of me.The rail is perfect and he still has not paid me a single dime.I have offered up several witnesses and even video tape to prove my case.I deal with thousands of customers so im bound to run into difficult people from time to time because we are one of the largest custom iron shops in Sacramento.

Review: [redacted] has a great staff working for him. Personnel making drawings of project for bidding, craftsman and installers were all top notch. It is too bad that the head of the company has zero people skills. We contracted Irish Iron to build us two custom iron gates. We paid over $8,000 for our gates. We were told to pay the installers what our records showed that we owed for the final installment. The final bill presented by the installers indicated a slightly bigger amount, and I paid the balance based on my records. Since I was never contacted by [redacted] I figured all was fine. After a few months, I noticed that the finish on our gates was pealing and that the small bar stopping the moving gate from passing the stationary gate was not long enough. I realized that the "rustic finish" we had selected had no guarantee and might stain our concrete. I was not, however, told about any possible peeling. When I called [redacted] to have him come take a look he told me that he had tried to contact me by certified mail and multiple phone calls concerning the balance on our bill ($150). I told him that I had not received any certified letter nor any phone calls. He insisted that he had tried to contact me these ways and that I was in the wrong. I told him I would be happy to address the disputed charges but I wanted him to come out and take a look at the peeling gates. I even told him that I was considering hiring him again to do a trash & pool enclosure. He refused to come out to look at the gates. He was belligerent and rude on the phone, treating me like I was cheating him out of the money owed him; a very SMALL percentage of the total we had paid him. All of his emails proudly claim an A + rating from the Revdex.com. I strongly contest this rating.Desired Settlement: I would like [redacted] to be made aware of his inappropriate behavior to a paying customer who could have potentially brought him more business. He should NOT be advertising an A+ Revdex.com rating either. I think he would be much too proud to come out and take a look at the gates himself. I would welcome one of his workers coming out and advising on what could be done about the peeling and the short gate stop.

Review: In late June of 2015 we went to Irish iron to order a gate for our front entry. We brought them pictures of the front entry to show alignment, and they drew a sketch of the gate. In July they sent a man over to measure the entry. On July 27th they called for a check, and I took them a $1200 dollar check the same day. On August 7th they sent an installation crew, and upon their inspection they reported that the alignment didn't look right at all, and took the gate back to Irish iron. Soon after we received a very rude phone call from a manager, ([redacted]) who reported this was our fault...he suggested we move our sidewalk or sprinkler system to accommodate the gate...or that if we paid an additional $300 he would correct the problem. Since we were leaving on vacation that day, we asked if we could call him when we returned. On August 27th we returned and called [redacted]...he was very rude, and said we should take the gate as is, or now pay an additional $600 for him to correct it. Dumbfounded, we asked to think about it. We no longer trusted the company to change the gate or install correctly, and were tired of the extreme rudeness. I called back and asked what I needed to do to end the project, and Bill said I would have to pay an additional $650 to end the project, them keeping the faulty gate.Desired Settlement: It's hard to say after being insulted multiple times, told we had bad memories, and were essentially liars...at best I would be happy if they kept my initial $1200 dollars without charging me an additional $650 for nothing provided at all but insults.

Review: This complaint concerns a custom security door I purchased from Irish Iron. On February 10, 2014 I paid $1600.00 for the door. When the door was finally delivered in April, it was 6 inches too short and did not fit the opening properly. When I complained to the owner of the company, I was told it would be fixed. It is now the middle of June and I have no door and they have my $1600.00. I went by the shop to see if any progress had been made on the door. The owner told me in an angry manner that he didn't have the time and that he would fix it when he had time. He then told me in an angry tone to leave the shop. I am an 82 year old woman with a limited income. This was a large purchase for me and one that I had saved to purchase.Desired Settlement: I am more than disappointed in the way I have been treated. It has been more than 4 months, they have my money and I have no door.

Response:

Its a shame that a business must be contacted in order to complete its contract- Yes Irish Iron contacted me and have delivered my door.
