This company operates Ice Wireless in the territories. I signed up for their internet service. Absolutely avoid this company and any services they offer. Their internet service was awful, the connection would constantly drop out. Customer service's response was they are upgrading the tower in our area, and it will be completed soon. Two years and counting later we cancelled. How is it that you started a brand new service in Iqaluit and from day one it was broken? Upgrading brand new equipment they installed on launch seems like a shotty way to treat your customers.

calls, 1 every hour, pretending to be one of Canadas major bank No one picks up when you answer, when you call back they need to ask you Security questions to gain access to your account. It is sad that IRISTEL allows it to continue. It is not enough to say we can block the calls, the company needs to do something to stop the calls from happening to anyone.

Iristel Response • Aug 13, 2020

Dear Paul,

I am sorry to hear that you receive scam calls. Indeed, we can help you to block the calls coming to your number if this is not a case of caller ID spoofing.
If this is not enough, you should file a complaint to the Police mentioning the number that is spamming you and let them investigate the case. we can assure you that we are going to offer them all the necessary information and contribute to finding the actual callers.
the problem is that most of the times, the number that you see is not even the real number and it is just used as a caller ID to hide their identity. If you want Iristel to help you block the calls, please use our anti-spam web page and fill in the form on https://www.iristel.com/antispam.

best regards,

Iristel Security team

I'm so tired of my phone ringing multiple times a day. Know one is there when you answer, just a hang up.
Leaves multiple messages of just dead air, beyond annoyed.
Iristel figure you business out and stop taking even a second from everyone's life.

P.S
I will not be sending my name, # or email to you. What a ridiculous thing to ask people

I have been receiving multiple calls from this "company." They never leave a message and there is no one on the other end when we pick up. We are both elderly and are sick of rushing to the phone for no reason. The only identifier is "Brit. Columbia". They use multiple different phone numbers.

Iristel Response • Jun 04, 2020

Dear Yvan,

I am sorry to hear that you are receiving unsolicited calls. May you please send an e-mail to ***@iristel.com and include the number that is *** you?

regards

Every time I get a spam call or a telemarketer or even a spam text message and I reverse lookup the number, the phone number always comes back as Iristel as the carrier. They have called me FOUR times already today. I just end up blocking the numbers but maybe try being more careful with who and what you're doing business with? It's REALLY annoying and aggravating especially when they are calling EXTREMELY late at night. Thanks.

Iristel Response • Jan 23, 2020

Hello Kirsten,
We thank you or bringing this matter into our attention! We are so sorry that you are experiencing such an unpleasant situation. I do not have the number that is calling you, Can I have it so I verify who the number belongs to? Most probably we have resold the number to another service provider and in this case we do not have their end-user's information, but just to confirm, I would appreciate you contact our Security department by e-mail at ***@iritel.com and provide us with the number in question.
keep in mind that this may also be a case of Caller ID spoofing, which means that the real caller ID is hidden and on your screen a fake number may show up, that being Iristel's number, this is a very common fact that I hear about often.
Again, please receive my sincere apologies for this situation and I hope that blocking the numbers helped you to avoid receiving unsolicited calls from spammers.

Best regards,
Iristel Security Team

My partner and I were both texted to come to a private residence for a concrete quote by a phone number which was used through your company. This residence was not the persons residence that texted us from this number, they sent us on a wild goose chase. This is unacceptable that your company allows people to use a fake number ***.

Iristel Response • Jan 23, 2020

Hello Sylvana,
Unfortunately Caller ID spoofing is something that I hear very often lately and it is not something that we, as a carrier, can stop. It just means that someone is using that specific number (Iristel's number in this case) to hide their own identity.
Again, please receive my sincere apologies for this situation and try to block these numbers from your phone to avoid receiving calls from scammers. You can also address this situation with the Police, because it was a clear attempt of Fraud.

Best regards,

Iristel Security Team

!***. I had never even heard of this company until I was woken up at 7am. ***. I will not be writing the phone number of the call as I have already reversed search the VIOP of the call and have determined for 100% fact it is their automated machines and everytime someone reports it or the number gets too much heat they just renew a new number and continue.

Iristel Response • Dec 02, 2019

Hello Michael,

I am really sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience. Please send us the number in question so we can verify who it belongs to. You can e-mail it at ***@iristel.com and we will get back to you once we verify it.
At the same time, we advise you to address this complaint to the Police as well.

Iristel Security Team

calls, once every couple of months, lots of other complaints to them

Iristel Response • Sep 25, 2019

Dear Abe D.,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing such an inconvenience. I am assuring you that the *** calls are not placed by Iristel. You did not mention the phone number in question so I can verify it. May I ask what led you to the conclusion that the number is related to our company?

We do receive many complaints, indeed, for numbers that were assigned to our resellers, who purchase numbers in bulk and re-selling them to their end users, or to other company, which has its own end users. If you do want us to look for the number in question and see if indeed it belongs to Iristel, please send us an e-mail to ***@iristel.com. It is recommended that, at the same time, you file a complaint to the police, mentioning the number in question and detailing the nature of the calls.

Thank you once again for bringing this to our attention!

Iristel Security Team

Good overall service. We have been using their service for several years.
However, I have been trying to connect with their billing and customer service via the phone and have been unable to connect with them for over a week. This morning, I left them a voice mail and will wait for the response.

I just received a text message from a number registered to Iristel Inc:

From: Unknown (1289204xxxx)
11/17/18 02:54:51PM
(778)-227-XXXX: Due to technical problems, we are sorry to have overloaded you. Take your money back: http://***-mobiles-services-conections.com/mobility

I do not recognize this and have treated it was spam/phishing and have blocked the #.

Hello Becky,

*** In order for me to verify this number I would need the full number. If this is still a concern to you, please reply with this information.

my cell is receiving text from XXX-XXX-XXXX. Iristel Inc. Sherbrooke
text says my chequing acct is temporarily suspended due to missing data. Ask to continue to: http://***-banking-account-update.ngrok.io/***-krob1/

This is NOT *** bank and has now been reported to *** bank, Revdex.com and canadian anti fraud ctr. & Iristel customercare/fraud.

Iristel Response • Mar 05, 2019

Dear Sherri,

***

Thank you for reporting this fraud attempt. Our recommendation would have been to contact Canadian Anti-fraud and the Police, but you have already did that. Please note that Iristel is working on a new tool that will allow you to block numbers that are harassing you. It will be released this spring and we really hope that it will help a lot of people that were harassed by numbers belonging to Iristel. Please let me know if you still have issues with this number or with another number belonging to Iristel.

regards

I just sent the following alert to "thisphone.ca"
[I have had 3 text messages in the last 4 days from this # as well as XXXXXXXXXX & XXXXXXXXXX all saying the same:
"Important message for ***. Please call XXXXXXXXXXX. Quote XXXXXXXXXX. If you received this message in error please respond indicating so."
I also received these about a year ago on 5 or 6 occasions & now they're starting up again.
I ignored them on each occurance because this is my business phone & I assume it is a *** or phone bill charge fraud.]

If indeed these #'s are owned by Iristel Inc., they should be responsible for their product even when they lease them out to 3rd parties & not hide behind "Confidentiality clauses" with the end users.
I have a personal cell-phone & internet service and yet I'm not allowed to generate spam through them.

Iristel Response • May 21, 2018

Dear Ralph,

Thank you for contacting us via Revdex.com website. I have verified the numbers provided and they are assigned to one of our resellers.
In this situation, the phone numbers in question are not controlled by Iristel. As a telecommunications carrier, sometimes phone numbers get assigned to third parties, who may be using the numbers in an inappropriate manner. Moreover, all telecommunication providers are impacted by vulnerabilities beyond their control in the SS7 network, however companies are doing their best to combat this tendency and protect their clients.

Due to the fact that we are limited in taking enforcement measures without an official complaint placed with the proper authorities, we would strongly recommend that you place a formal complaint with one of the following agencies:

â?? CRTC at X-XXX-XXX-CRTC (XXXX) for telemarketing
â?? Police (Local police)
â?? Canadian Anti-Fraud Center X-XXX-XXX-XXXX for fraud, threats, etc.

Also, please be aware that it may be a case of Caller ID spoofing, which means that someone might be using that specific number to hide their own identity, making both you and the owner of the reported number victims.

After placing the complaint, you can even get back to us with a case number and the details of the person/persons handling it. This way we can speed up the process and assist Police accordingly.

Should you require any further details, please do not hesitate to contact our Security Team by e-mail at ***@iristel.ca or by calling X-XXX-XXX-IRIS (XXXX) ext. 6, one of our agents will gladly assist you further with your request.

Regards,
Iristel Security Team

I received the same calls that others have received from this number X XXX XXX-XXXX listed as owned by Iristel Inc... As a company that has been in business for 18 years and but operating in the Social medial ERA I would you would no continue to send out your rote responses that places all the responsibly on those "inconvenienced" by the questionable customers you do business with. Simply step up and Do the Right Thing and investigate these numbers or your reseller s of "your products" and put into place contractual obligations that preclude the resellers of your services to do business with anyone that are not legitimate business. The reasons laws have to be put in place is because Corporations don't act responsible and do the right thing. In this modern era of Social Media information can now be shared to millions on how company's conduct themselves , or don't, Those business who want to continue to be viable respected Corporations will take the lead in protecting citizens despite the arbitrary and time consuming legal process currently there to protect the population.

Iristel Response • Mar 05, 2019

Dear Tim,

***

I understand your frustration, but the problem is that we cannot do anything against the companies that we re-sell these numbers to because this may be a case on ANI manipulation (ID spoofing) and the actual owner of the number may be a victim himself.
In this particular case, the number ported out from Iristel in 2017.
Please note that Iristel is working on a new platform that will allow people that are harassed by numbers owned by us to block them, so they are not receiving any more calls from those numbers. Please let me know if you have any other requests.

regards

Been getting calls from various numbers,Iristel has confirmed that none of the numbers are theirs.
Another one today from XXX XXX XXXX. What bothers me is that a company when advised that various numbers are using their name they seem to do nothing about it. I've submitted a complaint to CTRC , am waiting for a reply. If I were the company I'd be all over those fraudsters.

Iristel Response

Dear Mr. N.,

Following your complaint placed on Revdex.com website, I have looked up in our systems the number that you have provided. I have found out that, although Iristel is indeed the original owner of the number, it was ported out as of 2013.

I have also noticed that you have submitted complaints to our Security e-mail address regarding other phone numbers. If you claim that these numbers are harassing you, please file a complaint to the local Police and kindly provide Iristel with the file number and contact details of the Police Officer that is handling your file. We will contact them in person in order for us to get all the necessary documents that would allow us to move on with the investigation and speed up the process.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!
