Irlam Travel

Review: *Also encompasses Contract Issues, Customer Service Issues, Guarantee Issues, Sales Issues, and Service Issues. I am filing a complaint against Irlam Travel after more than one year of trying to work out travel insurance and refund issues with one of its associates, [redacted]. I would like to cite unethical business and sales practices, irresponsible actions, psychological damage, and monetary loss as the general reasons for my complaint. Irlam Travel was my travel agency, and [redacted] was my travel agent for a trip for myself and my parents, and I also purchased travel insurance through her company. Due to a health crisis, my parents' tickets for one leg of the trip were cancelled and rebooked, and [redacted] assured me that the extraneous fees would be reimbursed through the insurance she procured for us. She assured me that she would help me file the insurance claim upon my return.However, when I got back from the trip, [redacted] completely changed her story and began to avoid responsibility. She repeatedly promised that she would file the claim, and had me send documentation. Then, when she got around to responding to my emails, she would say that she never got the documentation or lost it. She kept promising to file the claim and then said she DID file it, but changed her story several times again. All of this is documented on email and texts, spanning from 09/01/2013 through 07/20/2014, after which I have been waiting for her to respond because she claimed to be extremely busy. In short, the window to file the insurance claim has long passed, and [redacted] has given me the run-around for more than one year. The money is not the issue, but the principle is, and [redacted]'s unethical business practices and actions should not be allowed to continue.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund to my credit card ending in [redacted] in the amount of $[redacted]. This is the total of $[redacted] (extra fees) + $[redacted] (insurance fee), which is the amount I have lost due to inability to use the insurance purchased and inability to file the claim. (It was impossible for me to do the claim on my own because [redacted] had all of the paperwork, and insisted that she would take charge of filing the claim multiple times. I have pages and pages of email/text evidence.)
