Company not covering defective product that they admitted was defective, will not respond to attempts to contact.Refuse to escalate complaint to owner
Bumper was purchased after an accident. after a month of being installed defects started to appear in product. Company admitted to defects but will only replace if I pay to remove product and pay to ship product back. This is a defective product from their manufacturing process. Tried to call company but only they will only allow me to speak to the sales manager and he refuses to escalate complaint to higher chain of command to resolve the issues.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking a full refund of purchase price. After this long drawn out ordeal I refuse to deal with them any further and will not represent a company that treats their customers the way this company has done.

I think its fair to say that FIRST, the customer called us over a year ago and sent pictures of his truck from a head on collision that may have killed his wife and daughter if not for our bumper that absorbed the blow. He bought a replacement sometime down the road and license plate mount. Our license plate mount is for a license plate and not advertised as working with a winch or anything else. He used it with his winch and it cut his cable. He demands that we buy him a new cable and that we should advertise it doesn't work with a winch and basically how terrible we are. So our bumper that saved his families lifes is now a piece of garbage because of his $100 winch cable issue. And yes, we are not going to get the owner involved because he has a mis use issue with a $100 part. Later he sends pictures of a single chip or two and demands we replace it under warranty because its "defective." Although the marks are clearly from elements and rock chips, not a defective coating we offered to send him a brand new bumper if he pays the freight, as is our and most other warranty policies. We still stand by that and will send him a new bumper for the freight costs or he can return the bumper for a full refund. Either way he will pay the freight. The customer has my email and I haven't heard from him via email in 3 months. I travel a lot so I may have missed his call, but no attempts at emails have been made to us.

It is absolutely fair to say that this bumper saved my families life during a tragic accident and that is why I elected to purchase another one as well as going with the license plate bracket from Iron Cross Automotive. However it has been with deep regret that I made this decision since this bumper has defects in it which are voids in the metal that have caused pitting, flaking in the powder coating and rust to develop prematurely and with in the warranty time line. As a consumer it should not be my responsibility to have to pay for the removal and freight to send this item back for repair or replacement! I bought this item with trust and faith that I was purchasing a quality product. As for the license plate bracket, it is made to be installed on the bumper I purchased and in no way is it stated that it is not to be installed if a winch is being used. because of this my winch cable was destroyed. Previous to the accident I had a plate bracket from another company installed on their and NEVER had an issue because it was made properly. Iron Cross Automotive failed to design and communicate that this bracket in NOT to be used with a winch. Once I made the complaint of these issues this company has treated me as if I am a nobody and with belittlement in the emails between *** and myself. Iron Cross Automotive has agreed that this product has defects and falls with in warranty but refuses to cover the full cost of replacement. It is a shame that a consumer has to go through this for a product that first cost the amount in which I paid and for the faith I once put into a company. They have treated me as if I am below them because they can not own up to a customer being dissatisfied in the quality of a product that has been purchased. I am requesting a full refund for the products I purchased.

They are failing to honor their warranty and to give me a refund.
I purchased Iron Cross Patriot running boards in Aug 2017, by April 2018 the brackets had all the paint coming off and were starting to rust. They sent me new brackets. When I removed the old brackets, I realized how bad the boards themselves were rusting. I also noticed where the brackets attached to the truck was starting to rust, like it spread from the brackets. So now my brand new truck I got in the fall has rusting paint under it because of their poor quality parts. I had them on the truck for six thousand miles. I contacted Iron Cross through the site I purchased the steps told them about my issue. They refused to do anything except send me new brackets. Their product is unusable, I want a refund, I'm within the warranty period, but they refuse to honor their warranty. Now I want them to refund my money and pay for the repairs to the rocker panel of my truck that their poor quality and negligence caused.

Desired Outcome

I would like a full refund of my purchase price of the steps. I would like them to pay for the repair costs to the rusting rocker panel of my truck caused by their poor quality and negligent product engineering.

To suggest that our brackets made your truck rust is asinine. From the pictures you sent in, your brackets barely even have rust on them. They are chipped down to the galvanized steel, but aren't rusting. So I wonder how that spreads rust to your truck? it doesn't. Obviously your set's powdercoat didn't adhere well which is why you were sent a replacement bracket. Our warranty is for repair or replacement on the product only. Not return for a refund anytime during the 5 year warranty. We will allow you to return the boards and the brackets for a refund but we will not pay for the shipping back as this is not our warranty policy.

Product purchased through them claimed to be made from heavy duty steal and " made in the USA ". product is made poorly. design issues.
Date of purchase 6/17/17
Date of installation give or take 7/1/17
problem date 7/1/17
order number (***) ***
model number 99119-iron cross W2W HD step board
payment amount 706.99
payment method paypal

so I bought the product shortly after its arrival I installed the steps. once installed I couldnt wait to try them out so once I installed one side I stepped right up and immediately there was a issue. the steps are weak. I weight around 220 and when you step on the steps they feel like rubber. I immediately called iron cross and was in touch with a man named ***. *** asked for a video of the issue seeing he didn't understand the issue. I then made a video on me stepping on the iron cross step and you can see its weak and then in the same video I went to the other side of my truck and jumped on the OEM steps (which are solid). here is the link ***
after I sent the link of the video he stopped responding to my e-mails. I called realtruck for a resolution and they thought the brackets might be the issue so they sent me a new set and I again installed them and the same issue as before.
at this point I contacted paypal to try and get my money bank and realtruck. both companies would not help me seeing that the steps were "installed". which I don't understand because how would you know if the product is good or not if you don't install them.

the product also has a 5 year warranty. I cant find anywhere on there website what is covered by this warranty.

I also have a friend who is a welder by trade I ask him to take a look at them and see what he thought. he said that the steal is weak that is not good steal. and that it is a bad design (for the brackets)

the product in the end could be unsafe and it is unusable

Desired Outcome

I just want my money back. the product is unsafe and unusable.

There are so many questions to ask regarding the proper installation that you unfortunately skipped so you could file a complaint. We sell 50+ sets of these a month and have no issue. We likely could have determined the issue had it been discussed further. *** is not an employee anymore which is why you had a lack of response I imagine. We also reviewed your video; in our experience steps work much better when stepped on, not bounced on. We notified who you bought it from the boards could be returned with a 15% re stocking fee. It is on them at this point to accept that return.

I noticed that you only focused on what you call "bouncing" and missed the part where I'm only pushing down on it with my one leg so what like 50 pounds of pressure and it's already moving? and it's moving a good 2-3". And missed the point that I can jump on the stock ones and they don't move at all. So I'm probably not understanding what is heavy duty about these steps. The bolts?

Point is I can't just step on them without them moving which is not safe. I wonder if I fell off them and cracked my head open and you heard from my lawyer that you would take this as a joke like you are now. You are not a it you can see the step is moving and shouldn't be. It was installed by me after reading you instructions and watching one of your YouTube install videos.

Wow 15% restocking fee and what 200 for shipping? I would take a 300 or so hit for your junk you sold me.

I find it hard to believe that you sell 50 wheel to wheel steps. The issue is the 3rd step not the others. The 3rd step is unuseable and unsafe.

You sold me junk if anything I'll take the 15% fee but I will not pay for shipping

Iron Cross Automotive Response

There is no reason for further back and forth of our differing opinions. We have given you the option to return them. If you want to contact realtruck and ship them back we will refund the price.

I don't think your listening to what I said. I agreed to the restocking fee but I will not pay for shipping. You get a reduced rate for shipping I do not. Otherwise I can just go and spread the word about your top notch product all over every forum I am on.
