March 27, 2014
My husband and I met with Ms. [redacted] today at 11:00am. After
being seated 6 feet from the main entrance and men’s bathroom in gaming chairs
that are approximately 9in off the floor we began our meeting.  With in minutes Ms. [redacted] 3 yr old
daughter interrupted us holding a medical syringe in her mouth.  She crawled up on her mothers lap fussy
and weepy it was very distracting, more than once Ms. [redacted] interrupted the
meeting, telling to her daughter to behave.  Then a front desk employee was called over to take the
little girl.  The child was back in
less than one minute with a banana and yogurt.  As Ms. [redacted] struggled to open the yogurt and peel the
banana the child was again in the middle of the meeting.  Ms. [redacted] then told us that she was
very busy and had an appointment at 11:30.  She was oblivious that we also had jobs and had taken time
to take the morning off to rectify her error.  When I asked why Ms. [redacted] would not return my phone calls
she then dove into an excuse that a stalker who kept [redacted] himself to her.  So she explains that her front desk
employees are to shield her from customers.  We kept asking for why she would not speak to us prior to
today but rather turn the matter over to a [redacted] agency, she pulled out a
file that she claimed to have detailed descriptions of every time I contacted
her business.  The first piece of
paper had a photocopy of the envelope that she said contained my letter of
cancelation.  In her handwriting it
says received on the 13 of December, then she mentions that it was postmarked
the 16th of December, with no mention of my phone call at the
beginning of the month to cancel my membership.  Although Ms. [redacted] knew by my visits and countless phone
call to Iron Works Gym, that I would not be extending my membership she was
cavalier about any previous attempts to end my membership after the one-year
contract.   When asked what resolution we could make
on the bill, she said it was out of her hands that the [redacted] agency was whom
I owed.  At no point when I spoke
to Ms. [redacted] did she address me, rather she would speak to my husband with a
rabbit trail of answers.  I
understand that Ms. [redacted] had a multitude of personal issues going on in her
life, however our only concern was the business that we had between Iron Works Gym and us.  I do not need to hear of men [redacted] her, I don’t want to watch her child struggle with morning snacks, I would like
to see accurate descriptions of business transactions and most importantly I
would much prefer Ms. [redacted] simply return my phone call.
It seems that this is a common practice of hers to seat dissatisfied
customers in the most uncomfortable setting, have her kids and other gym
members standing around listening to private business issues.  Seeking sympathy and talking in circles
but never giving a solid answer for any of her business practices. Rather than
take a morning out of our day to have her simply tell us that she as the
owner/operator of her own business had zero control over the situation
As it now stands now not a single thing was accomplished
with our meeting.   The only
new information we gained is by not receiving my written cancelation when she
wanted,
she would be splitting a new fee of $279.43, 60/40 with the
[redacted] agency.  The threat of
turning me over to a [redacted] agency as opposed to returning a simple phone
call to rectify a $39.00 issue
Her business practices are so convoluted that I am now blackmailed into
paying or having her destroy our credit.
