Ironshore Indemnity, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: I have had my vehicle insured with [redacted] Worldwide for the past six years. The agent was [redacted]. Apparently she left [redacted] and started her own agency (The [redacted] Agency, [redacted]). Somehow she is associated with [redacted] (1 Executive Drive, [redacted])and Ironshore Indemnity, Inc. ([redacted]). When my policy was up for renewal in May, 2013 I received a "Renewal Bill" from [redacted] Collectible Program for my 6/*/13-6/*/14 policy ([redacted]). I had already renewed my policy with [redacted] and ignored the correspondence. On 9/**/13 I received an Official Notification of Cancellation of Liability Insurance from the Louisiana Dept. of Motor Vehicles because Ironshore Indemnity, Inc. sent them notification that I did not renew my liability insurance. I have never been insured by Ironshore and have no idea who they are. My vehicle has been continuously insured by [redacted] for at least the past 6 years. Now I must go to the DMV with proof of insurance. This is a great inconvenience. [redacted] either used or sold my personal information. Since I did not switch insurance company, they sent false information to the DMV that I did not renew my liability insurance. I was told by Cindy Reed of [redacted] that since I was offered a policy and ignored it, they consider that a cancellation of the policy and notification was sent to the DMV.Desired Settlement: The practices of these companies = The [redacted] Agency, [redacted] and Ironshore Indemnity need to be looked into. It doesn't make sense that because I was sent a "Renewal Bill" from a company I had never had business with and chose to ignore it, that this is considered a non-renewal and send false information to the DMV.

Response:

Dear Sir/Madam:

We represent Ironshore Inc. ("Ironshore") with respect to certain of its matters. Please accept this letter in response to the Revdex.com's October **, 2013 correspondence concerning the captioned consumer complaint

Ironshore, like most insurance companies, does not sell insurance directly to consumers, such as [redacted]. Furthermore, Ironshore does not insure [redacted]. It appears that an insurance producer unaffiliated with lronshore was responsible for both [redacted]'s expiring automobile insurance and her renewal.

The Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles (".DMV") did not receive electronic notification of [redacted]'s automobile insurance renewal. Thereafter, the DMY generated a notice requesting that [redacted] provide proof of liability insurance for her automobile. An insurance producer unaffiliated with Ironshore was informed of the reporting issue and submitted proof of liability insurance to the DMV electronically. Accordingly, it appears that [redacted]'s insurance producer has resolved the apparent reporting issue at no cost to [redacted].

Please feel free to contact the undersigned with any further inquiries.

Very truly yours,

[redacted]

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

First thing concerning their reply is that my name is [redacted], not [redacted]. I renewed with [redacted] Worldwide (Philadelphia Insurance Companies) on 4/**/13. They have insured my vehicle for over the past eight years. I ignored the policy "offered" ([redacted]) to me by [redacted] Agency/Ironshore Indemnity, Inc. in May, 2013 since I desired to stay with [redacted]. False information was sent to the Louisiana DMV by [redacted] Agency/Ironshore Indemnity, Inc. stating I did not renew my liability insurance. I cannot "renew" a policy that did not exist. Granted, I did not incur any financial costs, but did have to take time and drive to the DMV and stand in the long lines in order to make sure this matter was properly cleared up. Since filing my complaint, I received an e-mail from a friend that reported that at least three other friends who had their vehicles insured by [redacted] with [redacted] received the same notification from the DMV. One actually had his driver's license suspended because he did not follow up since he knew he had renewed his policy with [redacted]. It was also reported in the e-mail that [redacted]'s property and casualty producers' license for Louisiana lapsed in May, 2013.
