Irvine European Auto Service Reviews (1)

Review: My 1986 Mercedes Benz 560 SL is a "Garage Queen" and only driven on the weekends. 8-10-12 I brought in my 560 SL for engine motor mounts and Driver Side power window repair. A couple of weeks after the window repair the driver side power window still did not work properly. I notified the owner, [redacted], and he said to bring it back in and they would work on it again to find out what was going on. Since the car is not driven a lot I was in no real rush to get it done and I told [redacted] that I could bring it in at his connivence. 11-20-13 I brought the 560 SL back in for a Hazard light repair and to fix the the driver side power window (again). About a month went by and the window would only come half way up again. Again, since I do not drive the car that much, plus dealing with several family problems, (My dad's stroke, my younger sister's unexpected death, the death of my step-mother, retiring from work after 44 years and becoming the health care provider for my dad), so the car repair did not have a high priority for me. My dad just passed away so my life has returned to somewhat normal. I called [redacted] the first week in July of this year and told him that I was still having the same problem with the driver side power window. He told me that he was "Swamped" and could not even look at it. He ask me to call him back after Labor Day and he would see if he could get it in for repair then. I told him "no problem". I called him Sept. 3rd, 2014 and asked when I could bring the car in. He told me that he was not going to work on "older cars" anymore. I told him that I had paid over $400 for the window repair and the window was still not working. He said he would not work on the car anymore. I said that "I did not think was fair thing to do to me". He replied, "I sorry but I am not going to work on your car, and hung up. The window regulator still needs to be replaced-new $569+ labor, used $300+ labor. I should not have been refused to repair my car.Desired Settlement: Refund the money already paid, ($400+) to have the window problem fixed. Since [redacted] is unwilling to stand behind his work and is now refusing to work on "older" cars as an excuse I have no choice but to go elsewhere for the window repair. I have the invoices from European Auto Service for the work that was done on the window. One invoice amount was paid by check for $614.00 (including the motor mounts and the window repair), and the other invoice was paid by credit card, $257.86, for the window repair. The current window repair has been estimated to be between $300 (for a used window regulator) and $569 for a new one plus labor cost of $100-150. [redacted] came referred to me by a mutual friend and I am very disappointed with how this situation is ending. I believe a refund is an acceptable way to resolve this issue.
