Irvine Subaru

Review: Vehicle was involved in accident on 10/30/14. Per my insurance, I took it to local auto repair shop. They claimed they finished but there were issues linked in the alarm system and vehicle engine control unit. Took it to Irvine Subaru to finish up repairs on 11/17/14 with a one hour labor estimate (to "inspect") and likelihood of vehicle being returned the following day: 11/18/14. Two days passed without a single phone call, so I called and was told they were unsure of what the issue was. This continued until 11/24/14 when they decided it was the engine control unit (ECU) at fault. They ordered a new one that evening with the expectation that my vehicle would be returned 11/26/14 or 11/28/14 based on the shipping times. After, once again, no communication from Irvine Subaru I called on the evening of 11/28/14. They informed me that the part is back-ordered and will likely take another week. After speaking with [redacted], I was informed that I would allegedly be provided a rental vehicle for the delay and should receive a called on the morning of 11/29/14. I did not receive a call, went down to the dealership in person where, ultimately, no one was able to help me (including the manager, [redacted]) . They informed me that I would have to pay for my own rental despite the fact that no one informed me that my car would be be available to be driven. It is not drivable because they took the ECU out and shipped it to Subaru. No one told me that would be happening. In fact, I had the option on 11/24/14 from [redacted] (service department manager) to get my car back temporarily while the dealership waits for the new ECU. I have now been without a mode of transportation for 12 days.Desired Settlement: All I ask is for a Subaru loaner or rental vehicle, the cost of which should be covered by Irvine Subaru, for the remainder of the repair time. I'm not interested in any other form of compensation or services. I feel that this is the least that can be done by both parties to absolve the issue at hand.
