Ishy's State 2 State Moving Reviews (3)

Review: I agreed to move with this company for an agreed price based on inventory and a $300 deposit. When they showed up for the move the movers said it would at least be double the agreed on price up to $4,000. This is only a one bedroom move. When I moved here from MI It cost less than $4,000 for a three bedroom house and a golf cart. Obviously I refused to be hustled so I refused their last second hike in price. So they refused to move my furniture and also refused to give me a refund.Desired Settlement: $300 refund

Review: I arranged with [redacted]. from Ishys to move my 97 yr old grandmother from West Haven, Ct to Wendell, NC.. I informed her it was a small one bedroom in housing on the 6th floor with no large appliances to be moved. She ask what was there, I stated a twin bed with a dresser and perhaps a nightstand and a small dinette in the living room with a loveset along with the regular stuff such as TV, coffe tale, end tables , not much some kitchen stuff ect. She gave me a quote of $ 975.00 stating she applied a senior discount. I stated she was a little higher than the $825--900.00 quotes given by others and she let me know her price included everything, all the packing, boxes, bubble wrap, tape, which the others would add on to their price. I asked about the packing and she stated to tell my grandmother not to worry or pack anything the crew will take care of it all. The crew was scheduled for 10am to 11am, they called ,stuck in traffic and they would be there between 12pm-1pm.(not well planned on their part as there is always traffic to concider). We wanted to get to the airport around 2:00pm--still possible. The crew arrived around 12:30, looked around real quick and showed me paperwork to pick up a twin bed, dinette, and love seat to my surpise. I stated why would I pay nearly $ 1,000.00 to move those items they are suppose to pack everything up in boxes to be moved. He stated they will go ahead and take care of everything for $ 2,000.00. I called [redacted] to clear things up and a very sweet, caring [redacted] turned into something else stating I only asked for those items which I responded why would you say we supply all the boxes and will pack everthing up. She states I only asked for those items, we had words and she hung up. I was very upset, my grandmother and her sister were really havind difficulties with understanding what was happening so I informed the crew to just leave I was not paying another $1,000.00. The crew sat in the parking lot for about 30 minutes almost knowing that the customer will say what do we do now and give them what they wanted. I did not and they left. The owner was notified by the Bank of America to get the $ 300.00 return but the owner [redacted] ###-###-#### stated the deposit was non refundable if cancelled the day of the move as written. I did read that and had no intentions on cancelling our agreement but they changed tht ageement.Desired Settlement: I would like this practice of doing business investigated, I would like my deposit back at minimum, I would love to be compensated for the hardship this cause with the move and undesired added stress to a 97 yrs old women, I would like others to be aware of this companies way of taking care of them and their families.

Sincerely,

In addition to the actions by Ishy's State 2 State moving companies' bait and switch practices which we will hold soley responsible for the entire move fallen apart due to the obligation of a 97 year old lady to be able to leave her apartment in a good clean condition. Ishy's practices caused my grandmother to return back to West Haven within days of flying to North Carolina because she could not get over leaving her apartment with nothing moved out or the apartment left the condition she received it. Ishy's is responsible for lost security deposits on house rental, lost moving deposit. wasted airfares back and forth from West Haven to North Carolina then back which amount to just under $ 3,000.00. This does not include the personal damages caused during this time frame. This company should be persued for their reckless actions.

Review: Moving from MD to TX: The Movers came from New York on August [redacted], 2014, I was quoted $1,777.50 and when the movers got there they said I had to pay $3,500, then the haggling began, we finally "settled" on $2650. He gave me a "flat rate" instead of per cubic square ft. He said he was giving me a "deal" but when I asked him to show me the amount of square footage that my things on the truck would take, he said he couldn't and he would do the job for the flat rate instead. The two people that he brought with him to help pack and load the truck were barely 18 and were not friendly at all. Once the truck was filled, I was sent an invoice for $1,000 which I paid. I had put down a $300 deposit on August [redacted]. I called the office on August [redacted], 2014 and was told that my things had yet to leave their warehouse and that I needed to pay an additional $500 for them to even start making their way from NY to Houston, Texas. I paid that on August [redacted], 2014. The man I had been working with said that the truck would be leaving once I paid. I followed up on Monday, August [redacted] and they still hadn't left yet. On August [redacted], I spoke to the driver, who is a CONTRACTOR and not an employee of the actual company and he says that he is in TN and will be at my house, in Houston, on Thursday, August [redacted]. I call everyday to follow up and he keeps saying he is in Dallas, which is only 4 hours away fro Houston. He finally calls me on Saturday, August [redacted], 2014 at noon and says that he [redacted] my address and that it says that Trucks cannot come in the gate and that he was 20 mins away from my apartment and if I wanted him to come I would have to pay an additional $500 on top of the balanced owed, which had to be paid in cash. I know for a fact that trucks can come in and out of the complex because people have been moving in every weekend and how could [redacted] tell you that? I checked the web and called the rental office and they confirmed that it wasn't true. I asked the guy if he was coming and he said that he wasn't unless State to State said it was okay. We call the man [redacted], from State to State and he doesn't answer, we get a text from him that says for us to ask the Driver if he would deliver our things. The Driver says that [redacted] told him to take our items to a storage facility. The Driver NEVER showed up to my apartment. We called him and [redacted] and no one answered or told us where our items were. The Driver said he was no longer in Texas (Who can get out of the state of Texas in 2.5 hours? It's the biggest state.) and that he couldn't help us and it was no longer our problem. I spoke to the Police and they came out to my apartment to take my statement and to try to call [redacted] and the Driver [redacted] and neither of them answered. The officer said that the fact that they never showed up, it was considered theft and the contract was null. I let [redacted] and the Driver know and they never answered and have not contacted us since.Desired Settlement: I would like my items. All of my furniture is in that truck and my young daughter is sleeping on the floor because of it. We are living out of a suitcase and these people are CROOKS!!
