Thank you for contacting us regarding this complaintHere are the details surrounding this complaint.We installed carpet for then Ryland Homes, now CalAtlantic Homes, who was our customer in for this home. We did not perform any work for this homeowner at allThe home was then
sold by Ryland to the current customer in Feb Our policy is that we have a one year warranty on any labor performed for the builderThis is a warranty that matches the builders warranty of one year as wellThis warranty expired 2/2015. The Home owner contacted us Nov to discuss his issues with his carpet. See email chain attachedAs explained to the homeowner at the time of him contacting us, we explained that he was past his warranty but we would be glad to fix the issue however he must pay for the installer to come out and complete any fixes that he is requestingHe asked for an inspection of his carpet by the manufacturer and for a quote to restretch his carpet. We emailed him a quote and at the same time gave him the conclusion to the inspection report from the manufacturers inspection as well as a copy of the letter that is sent to him as a home owner by the manufacturerThe conclusion that was sent to him is also attached above with the denial letterThe conclusion of an inspection report is common to share with all parties as it takes the other pages of just fact finding and summarizes itWe have provided this consumer with all the requested information needed to complete his complaint in full. There are no manufacturer issues with his carpet and they found that the installer did not strongly attach the carpet to the tack strips causing ripples over timeIf he had reported any issues at all within the first year or at his one year walk with the builder we would have fixed the issue right away.
