Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:The above statement from Island Audiology is falseIn fact my son recieved the same service and never had this much troubleMy insurance does not transfer to [redacted] its only for [redacted] I have been in contact with Joyce and with Erin Sincerely, [redacted]

Aloha- This complaint centers around the patient's refusal to accept that the insurance company will not be paying as much as he wants them to for the hearing aid His [redacted] out-of-state [redacted] plan pays up to $ in the other state But if the claim is made in Hawaii, the benefit is limited to $1200, which is the contracted amount covered by [redacted] (the Hawaii [redacted] affiliate) This is [redacted] policy, not ours- we would be very pleased if higher limits could be exercised; more patients would be likely to get hearing aids in that case!We had EXTENSIVE communication with ***, [redacted] , and the patient, and the final answer was given to all parties that the limit would be $ The patient came to our office for the fitting of the device, and signed a purchase agreement acknowledging that [redacted] would pay $and he would be responsible for the rest The patient was fit with the device The patient said that he had left his wallet in his car, so he went out to get it Our staff watched as he sat in his car, made a phone call, and then started the car to drive away One of my staff ran out to the parking lot and the patient gave her a certain hand signal as he sped off He was wearing the hearing aid but had not paid for it We called the patient in shock, he asserted that he had an email that he shouldnt have to pay Well, that doesnt give him the right to run off with the device before it has been paid for We have not received full payment as the patient claims in his complaint We have received $from [redacted] and $plus tax from the patient as an initial order deposit We are still owed about $ When we spoke to him at this point, he said he is willing to pay, he just thinks [redacted] is going to do more for him and we should have to wait The email he is referring to is weeks old, and came from a SALES person at [redacted] , not a claims adjudicator That sales person has been reprimanded by [redacted] for mis-speaking and overstepping his bound, and the patient knows this We have received confirmation from [redacted] and [redacted] that they have informed the patient that there will be no more benefit and he has to pay the rest He refused again, so this amounts to theft I filed a police report and wish to recover the device We will refund his deposit and the [redacted] payment once we get the device back We were actually trying to help his claim, but his multiple showings of bad faith make it impossible for us to have him as a patient We have spent dozens of hours dealing with this situation in phone cals to insurers, the patient, and the police [redacted] General Manager [redacted] [redacted]

[redacted] [redacted] ' [redacted] We see this as the appropriate action given that the complainant was not able to support any claims with documentation, because full payment from the insurance company had not been made as claimed We have received assurance from the insurance company that our claims filing process in this case was in compliance and without errorWe appreciate the role that the Revdex.com can play in arbitrating disputes between consumers and businesses Our goal is to provide the highest quality of hearing care in an atmosphere of trust and professionalism We regret that the complainant is not satisfied with the outcome, however, we are confident that we worked with all parties involved (the complainant, the Hawaii [redacted] affiliate, the out-of-state [redacted] affiliate, and the police) in good faith, and will do the same for all future disputes or misunderstandings.'

It is so discouraging to read the out right lies that were given to you in response to our complaintWe have since reached out to the police department and provided proof from our insurance that the hearing aid was paid for in fullThis is based off what the provider submitted as a claimThere is currently a secondary claim that Island Audiology has sent inThis claim is still openIn the same breath, the owner of Island Audiology called in a claim to the police department saying the device had been stolenThe Hawaii County Police department has gone back to the Office and they now have the device as evidenceI spoke with the Captain yesterday in depth and he has escalated this case to the District Attorney. Further more, our son had the same issue with Island Audiology years ago as they tried doing the same exact thingOur insurance company has now been able to place our sons and ***'s side by side and shows that Island Audiology has breached their contract with the insurance company and now appears that they are trying to balance bill us. We would be more than happy to have a conference call with the insurance company as they have all recorded conversations and have extensive notes with conversations to Chance, and Britney from Island Audiology. We are confident as you dig deeper in this this claim, you will find a web of lies attached to Island Audiology and its financing practicesWhen you find our claims to be true, we would also encourage you to open an investigation on past claimsIt scares us to think of how many folks will just pay money that they do not owe because Island Audiology forced them into signing a bogus contract and threats of non compliance resulting in a call to the police. Sincerely,*** and *** ***

Aloha-  This complaint centers around the patient's refusal to accept that the insurance company will not be paying as much as he wants them to for the hearing aid.  His [redacted] out-of-state [redacted] plan pays up to $3000  in the other  state.  But if the claim is made in...

Hawaii, the benefit is limited to $1200, which is the contracted amount covered by [redacted] (the Hawaii [redacted] affiliate).  This is [redacted] policy, not ours-  we would be very pleased if higher limits could be exercised; more patients would be likely to get hearing aids in that case!We had EXTENSIVE communication with [redacted], [redacted], and the patient, and the final answer was given to all parties that the limit would be $1200.   The patient came to our office for the fitting of the device, and signed a purchase agreement acknowledging that [redacted] would pay $1200 and he would be responsible for the rest.  The patient was fit with the device.  The patient said that he had left his wallet in his car, so he went out to get it.  Our staff watched as he sat in his car, made a phone call, and then started the car to drive away.  One of my staff ran out to the parking lot and the patient gave her a certain hand signal as he sped off.  He was wearing the hearing aid but had not paid for it.  We called the patient in shock, he asserted that he had an email that he shouldnt have to pay.  Well, that doesnt give him the right to run off with the device before it has been paid for.  We have not received full payment as the patient claims in his complaint.  We have received $1200 from [redacted] and $250 plus tax from the patient as an initial order deposit.  We are still owed about $1400.  When we spoke to him at this point, he said he is willing to pay, he just thinks [redacted] is going to do more for him and we should have to wait.  The email he is referring to is 4 weeks old, and came from a SALES person at [redacted] , not a claims adjudicator.  That sales person has been reprimanded by [redacted] for mis-speaking and overstepping his bound, and the patient knows this.  We have received confirmation from [redacted] and [redacted] that they have informed the patient that there will be no more benefit and he has to pay the rest.   He refused again, so this amounts to theft.  I filed a police report and wish to recover the device.   We will refund his deposit and the [redacted] payment once we get the device back.  We were actually trying to help his claim, but his multiple showings of bad faith make it impossible for us to have him as a patient.  We have spent dozens of hours dealing with this situation in phone cals to insurers, the patient, and the police.   [redacted]General Manager[redacted]  [redacted]
