the parent brought in two children for evaluation Their coverage is child health plus which does not cover any orthodontic care They were told this at their first visitThey were offered a steeply discounted fee for orthodontic recordsAnd in fact the amount quoted by the parent was for both children 75% off our usual rate which is inline or lower than other specialists in the area We have called their insurance on their behalf and have confirmed that they have no orthodontic coverage we have provided the parent copies of all records and consider this matter closed we strife to offer a highly discounted fee to parents who have no coverage for braces and fully explain this prior to treatment

Review: Island Orthodontics (Dr. Scott F[redacted]) is an orthodontic provider within [redacted]. My family became members of this dental plan in March, 2015 specifically because Dr. F[redacted] and Island Orthodontics were a participating provider, as they were recommended by our dentist. This plan has a defined co-payment schedule for services provided for orthodontics. I took two of my children for evaluation and treatment in September, 2015. Dr F[redacted] and Island Orthodontics have refused to abide by the payment schedule indicated be the insurance plan ($2594) and instead insisted I contract for the amount of $4,594 for each child. When I questioned these rates, and then ultimately refused to contract for them, they denied my children orthodontic treatment. The amount demanded exceeds the contracted insurance rate by $2,000 for each child, or $4,000 in total. This is clearly fraud.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the services performed at the in network insurance rate.

Review: There was a billing issue with my insurance company and I was asked by Island Orthodontics (Dr. Scott F[redacted]) to pay for the services while the issue was being resolved. I made a credit card payment of $400.00 in order for my son to continue receiving services. My insurance company issue was resolved and I was informed by Island Orthodontics (Victoria) of the insurance payment and a refund of $525.00 that was due me. I have asked about my refund and was told that I had to wait. Island Orthodontics refused to wait for my insurance company to settle the issue but they expect me to wait.

I have made several phone calls about my reimbursement and every time I call I am told that the issue is with the doctor and his accountant. It has been over 30 days. I would like my refund of $525.00 immediately.Desired Settlement: Immediate refund of $525.00
