I was not, and at no time tried to go into, the repair shop. I will not set foot in that business again, especially when I was told they didn't "give a ***" when I said I wouldn't, and much less now that I filed a complaint. While maybe "criminal" is not the word you would choose, I was certainly not treated the way a customer should be

I am rejecting this response because:I was not expecting to get a service for free.  What I object to is the fact that I was not told BEFORE any work was done that there would be a charge.  I assumed, because that is what I am used to, that they would take a look at it and let me know what they thought was causing the problem and what would be required to fix it.  The fact remains that, in spite of the $40 I paid, the machine is still not working as it should because it is still spitting out the line.  Clearly, it was not the rock that was causing the problem with the line, as I tried to explain that day, but they would not listen and their only concern seemed to be getting paid.  While I object to being charged for a service I did not authorize and being treated the way I did, I would not be filing this complaint if the machine had actually been repaired, but it was not, and that is why I am asking for a refund.As far as the upgrade that I declined is concerned, while it might have made things easier, it should not be required for the machine to work.  I have used a weed eater exactly like this one before, without any upgrades, and never had any problems.  That is why I purchased this particular model.  I obviously got a lemon and would expect the company to stand behind the products they sell.I felt I was treated like a criminal when I was ordered—yes, the tone used could not be interpreted as anything other than an order—to sit on the stool and wait.  It seemed obvious to me I was not trusted to walk around the store.
