Island Vacations & Cruises -- An absolute scam Paid $for the package--represented as two weeks in Florida, Mexico, etc Now I find that is actually only five days, four nights plus an extra $charged at time of submitting request for reservation, plus hotel tax This computes to $per night What a scam!!!

I received a call today from Island Vacations and cruises
MY CALLER ID SHOWED THE CALL WAS COMING FROM MY OWN NAME AND TELEPHONE NUMBER! I answered anyway and the woman began her sales pitchI asked her why they were using my name and phone number as their company name and number and she said she could not do anything about it as the calling number was computer generated!
How can they call people using MY NAME AND TELEPHONE NUMBER?

September 29th, 2014
Upon reviewing the Invoice, Reservation Form, Terms & Conditions, we decided to CANCEL our purchase of the 5 day, 4 night Costa Rica Vacation, that we bought 9/25/14. We used a VISA credit card and requested an immediate refund credit to our account in the amount of $198.00.

From the conversation I had with a sales representative, I was lead to believe certain assurances and terms of the agreement. As it turned out, they differed from the e-mail information that was sent the following day. For instance, I asked if there would be any problems booking a room during peak or holiday season. I was assured that banks of rooms had been set aside and that there wouldn't be any problem. However, the Terms & Conditions indicate that,

("space is subject to availability, peak season charges may apply").

I phoned the Customer Service Dept. (XXX-XXX-XXXX), they indicated that I needed to e-mail my request for a REFUND, to the address from which the attachment invoice and terms & conditions had been sent. I made several phone calls and only reached one live person that assured me a refund was being processed.

BEWARE, that the phone numbers and extensions are NOT to the individuals they claim & that I NEVER RECEIVED A PHONE CALL BACK!!! Left numerous messages!

If it seems to good to be true, it probably isn't.

Worst service EVER. They are rude and don't care about anything but getting your money. They put me and my sisters at a resort and we got BED BUGS! We called and told them and they said to deal with the people at the resort. The people at the resort called them and told they need to refund ours money and the gave us the run around. Do NOT book through them!

Very aggressive with the sale and wanted a payment now because the credits go away. However, when I told them that I needed to discuss with my wife the sales rep hung up on me. Nice in the beginning but rude in the end.

DO NOT GET INVOLED WITH ISLAND VACATION & CRUISES INC. I accepted and offer for a weekend vacation package for this company and paid with a credit card. I then read the terms and conditions and realized it was not for me. I called (and emailed) to cancel the package. They said no problem. It could take up to 30 days for my credit to show up. As I was checking every day to see if there was a refund I noticed my credit card balance had gone up by over $200. I looked at the transactions and found two transactions for prison phone calls in Miami that were changed to my account. The customer service rep at the credit card company stopped short of saying they were a result of someone at Island Vacations using my credit card numbers, but a criminal investigation is underway. I have to close that credit card. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY VACATION PACKAGE FROM THEM !!! By the way, MasterCard has a policy that a vendor HAS to refund your money w/in 15 business days. It’s been over a month and I have not received a refund, so I had to do a dispute for that too.

I answered a call today from an unknown number to a sales person from this company who told me:
1) it was a vacation/cruise company in Florida that is licenses & registered in Florida, (most notably to me with the Florida department of Agriculture)
2) I was being called because their records indicated that I had previously used a credit card to purchase a vacation which I had never used (trueand I DO NOT want to repeat the horrible experience I had with Caribbean Cruise Lineswhich this company sounds like a new incarnation of. How else would they have my contact info, knowledge of how I paid for the vacation and that it went unused?)
3) I had a $1000 travel voucher credit with them and she could help me with travel (really? why?)
4) Apparently the State of Florida realized that people had bad experiences with some such vacation companiesshe'd heard the unhappy storiesand had given this company the credit to offer to me

I had received several calls from this company in recent months and had told the 2 - 3 representatives who I actually spoke to that I NEVER wanted to hear from them againremove me from their call list. Obviously that request was not heeded.
.
Anyway, this lady kept trying to assure me they were not like the "other" companies although I promised here I would do my own research and book any travel on my own initiative in the future. She gave me a customer service number (which turned out not to be connected when I called it later) and directed me to the company's website. As I continued to tell her that I truly was not interested, I checked out the website and looked the company up here on Revdex.com. The website looked suspiciously like that of the company with which I had a bad experience and the Revdex.com complaints were similar. I told her that and asked how they had gotten my number. She was unable to answer. Nor was she able to give me the mailing address of their home office to which I could mail a formal request never to be bothered. She repeated the inactive customer service telephone number again and suggested that since I was on the Revdex.com site could contact them to get removed from the list (oops!).
There's the lone story and here I am. Warning others that this company and their marketing approach smells fishy. I called the number on the Revdex.com site and requested of [redacted] in customer service that I be removed from their list. If I get another call, further action will be taken.

I was told by a salesman I would be contacted on July 1, 2016, for permission to run my credit card. I was not contacted today buit my card was charged anyway. I telephoned the office of Island Vacations and Cruises and I told them my card was charged today without a return call and I wanted it cancelled. I told the lady (2:00 CT) it was pending and I wanted it canceled. If not cancelled and they collected the money I would file a fraud complaint against them. She took card number, phone number and name and said she would send it on to bookkeeping. BEWARE of this company!
