Thank you for forwarding this information from Ms [redacted] When Ms [redacted] called to make reservations for her wedding guests, she was advised of our hotel's policy whereby certain rooms are reserved by hotel management for guests of the casino This is typical practice and policy in the gaming industry We have a significant room inventory at our resort, but unfortunately only a relatively small number of suites Thus, it is very important for us to have a suite ready for our casino guests When Ms [redacted] was not satisfied with the room reservations agent's advisement of our company's policy, she demanded to speak to a reservations supervisor who again advised Ms [redacted] of our policy and Ms [redacted] then demanded to speak to our reservations manager who again advised Ms [redacted] of our company's policy However, in an attempt to placate Ms [redacted] she was offered a standard room in our brand new Beach Tower hotel Ms [redacted] advised that a standard room was "not good enough" and declined the offer We regret that we were unable to comply with Ms [redacted] 's request for a suite and certainly understand the importance of her wedding day However, we reserve the right to operate our hotel in a manner that meets our business objectives as well as complying with all applicable laws and regulations We attempted to accommodate Ms [redacted] , but she was willing to accept the accommodation This constitutes the response on behalf of Island View Casino Resort Should you have any questions, please advise

After a thorough investigation, it has been determined that Island View Casino was not negligent or at fault in regards to the cancellation of [redacted]’s reservation for March 15, 2014 at the Clarion Inn. There were no records or...

evidence of Mrs. [redacted]’s attempt to cancel the reservation. Therefore, the room was held for her and the full room rate was charged to the credit card provided.
At the time of the reservation, Island View Casino had no space available and acted as a third party provider, by reserving a room for Mrs. [redacted] at the Clarion Inn,  one of nine partner hotels.  Due to the off-site reservation, Mrs. [redacted] provided a credit card and was informed that her credit card would be charged immediately, and if necessary, with a proper 24 cancellation notice, she would be refunded.
Although records proved that she did not contact Island View until March 30, 2014, Mrs. [redacted] has remained adamant about having cancelled the reservation. In our efforts to investigate and ensure that no mistakes were made on our behalf, it is possible that Mrs. [redacted] may have misunderstood our staff’s courtesy and politeness for a chance that the no-show charges would be reversed.
Our goal at Island View Casino is to provide exceptional service and offer a great experience to each and every guest. We regret this incident ever occurred and based on the slightest chance that Mrs. [redacted] felt misled to believe that she would receive a refund, a decision has been made to credit [redacted] the full amount of $[redacted] for the no-show. Unfortunately, Clarion Inn has since billed Island View for the room, which will result in a loss to our company.
