The worst insurance I've ever had.
The worst insurance I've ever had. Would rate 0 if I could.
I used ISO Silver last year when I was a student and recently I received a lot of bills from the health care provider that I have been to. This insurance doesn't cover 90% of my bills, even regular sickness and the therapist services. This insurance is like a scam for international students who don't know much about the system here. Most of the reviews are fake and it's very difficult to contact them when I have issues.

Check
They are so rude. I changed my address and I couldn’t received the check. I requested again with the updated address. They are saying that it’s mail man’s problem. Excuse me? It’s your problem. Where is my $24?

ISOA BASIC COVERAGE, Wellfleet bill department
Do NOT USE THIS INSURANCE. BLOOD WORK AND URINE WAS DENIED TO COVER it. They just take your money and deny the coverage.

Labcorp was denied.

I had basic coverage. I opened two claims for vaccination and they refused to cover it.

The first vaccination bill in CVS pharmacy was paid for it. After Leaving a bad review on BBB complaint they took their money back from CVS and I was sent from CVS 95 dollars for tda booster again after I thought it was bad by wellfleet

The Second claim was urine and blood sample of 452 dollars. Their refusal is not covered under routine service.

I do not recommend them because no matter how much they pay. They will decline claims because it happened to my friend as well.

Wellfleet is the bill department. They took their money after my coverage have ended from CVS. BEWARE, DO NOT USE THEM

COVID-19 VACCINE
I was charged $60 just for the administration fee of the COVID-19 vaccine. It does not make any sense that I am paying for the administration fee while people I know do not have insurance and are not getting any fee charged. Then it means it would have been better to just get the vaccine without insurance or showing that I have an insurance. How are people supposed to get COVID-19 vaccine, which is free when there is a charge for it. That is nonsense! I would definitely like my reimbursement back.

+2

They unpaid the vaccine I took in the CVS. They are RIP off.

Almost everything is uncovered unless you get into a near-death accident.
Honestly, I regret so much purchase their Voyager plan for $262.50. This is by far the most useless way I could have spent my money. My international student office recommended ISO to me, and I am about to file a complaint to the school. Even routinely dental/vision checkups are unavailable. This is more expensive than the quarterly Lifewise ones! They also do not offer any refund, unless you're a part of the army. Which is a bunch of bull***t tbh. Just admit you're in it to scam international students.

Although I cannot get a refund on this piece of st, I will launch a complaint on behalf of other international students. Hopefully, my school will look into it and find new insurance services for us

Read the details.
The coverage of their plans are not comprehensive, dont rely on the summary of the plan coverage, read the details, it pays only a small fraction of the cost per procedure. Their customer service are very unhelpful and unresponsive causing a unimaginable amount of stress (even when you are ill). And they do not refund you if you try to cancel coverage unless you are in the military. I have had a pretty traumatic experience with them.

Review: I bought their heath insurance for international student in June for 6 mouth till December 2015 for a monthly rate, I prepaid all 6 mouth at once. In end of July before new semester starts. I got an email form my university that inform us that according to immigration regulation all international student must purchase health insurance from the University. but if you already have health insurance yu can fill a Wavier if the insurance student have meet the requirement of the university. but the insurance I bought from ISO did not meet the requirement form my university. So I contact them to get my partial refund, and they refused to do so. because their refund policy is that once its sold unless I join the American Arm Force they wont refund it, and in their website they said they will help their customers fill out the waiver. I asked them to do so. but they never did. ISO know the waiver will get denied. They never told me what happens if the waiver get denied. and finding more excuse not give me refund, because I already made a claim on insurance. I told them I used that insurance during the period I am willing to pay. I just want my partial refund after school start while i'm coved by my university's health insurance. They refused my again. They said iso insurance could acting as my secondary insurance. but it doesn't make sense. my universities insurance has a much higher and wider coverage. I should not be paying 2 insurance at the same time. they just repeat their refund policy to me there is no refund. but I don't think its reasonable and legal so I am seeking for help. Thank you.Desired Settlement: Refund portion of my payment back from August to December

Thank you for bringing this grievance to our attention. ISO is an insurance agency specialized in providing insurance plans to international students coming to study is in the U.S. Therefore we feel we have a duty to provide them with the highest level of customer service and guidance on insurance matters. 1. The customer purchased the insurance on 6/*/2015 on our website for insurance coverage for 6 months from 6/*/15-12/*/15. 2. At the time of enrollment the customer confirmed his agreement to terms of the policy, and received confirmation of enrollment. Before submitting the payment there is a clear statements and link to the policy that the customer must review and check. The statement reads: “I have read the policy and agree to the terms and conditions. I wish to purchase insurance under the terms of the Policy Brochure. I know it is a crime to provide false or misleading information to an insurer for the purpose of defrauding the insurer or any other person. I authorize ISOA to charge my card the full amount of my order. I understand that after my insurance is processed I will not be able to cancel it. Premium refunds, less a $50 cancellation processing fee, will be considered only for entry into the armed forces” 3. The customer used the insurance to claim his medical bills. 4. The refund policy is: Premium refunds will be considered only for entry into the armed forces. Unearned funds will be refunded for the number of full months only. The refund request must be in writing and your medical insurance ID card must be returned with your request. Premium refunds will not be considered if a claim has been filed during the period of coverage. All refunds are subject to approval by the plan manager. 5. Since a claim has been filed during the period of coverage and the customer didn’t join the armed forces, premium refunds cannot be considered. 6. Our customer care team provided a clear explanation detailing why the customer is not eligible for a refund when the customer first contacted ISO for a refund request on 8/**/15. We assist our customers with choosing a plan and review schools waivers. Unfortunately the school waiver policy changed after the customer enrolled and the policy became effective. 7. There are strict prerequisites for an active insurance policy to be cancelled. We understand that things can change such as school waiver requirements and we attempted to make an exception to the cancellation policy but we could not bypass the strict terms of cancellation once a customer submitted claims. We hope the explanation provided addresses the grievances of the customer.

Review: I am an International Student doing my Masters, I required an insurance plan so I decided to take one from ISO student health insurance. I paid for 2 insurance plans for $248 each for myself and a friend of mine. However I was shocked to look at my credit card statement that they had charged me "THRICE". They had debited my card for an additional $248. When I approached them for a solution they gave me rude replies stating that it was my fault and my banks fault. As a hopeless consumer I approached my bank with this problem. My bank had filed a "CHARGEBACK" for the unauthorized debit which ISO health insurance "REJECTED". Next they processed a PRE-ARBITRATION which was also "REJECTED". I have all substantial proof for the transactions ISO charged my card. Each and every time I approach them they tell it's my Banks Fault and keep boasting about their company and disprove the transaction that was made which has left me shattered. The third disputed transaction has the same merchant ID and acquired ID as the other two correct transaction. They still refuse each and every time I talk to them and all they do is criticize me. They have left me running behind them for the past "6 MONTHS" for this amount of $248. Being an International Student "$248" is a large sum of money for me. I was unable to pay my College Fees Installments due to this once. If I tell them I would seek legal action they tell me to go ahead and do it as though they dont care. They have giving me a lot a headache and have made me an "UNHAPPY MAN" with a lot of tension and not being able to concentrate on my studies with so much distraction. "PLEASE HELP ME OUT AND RESOLVE THIS ISSUE FOR ME I HAVE ALL THE PROOF THAT IS REQUIRED INCLUDING STATEMENTS FROM MY BANK AND THE MAILS I HAVE BEEN SENDING TO THEM AND REPLIES I HAVE GOT"Desired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE A REFUND OF THE ADDITIONAL CHARGES THEY HAVE MADE AND RECEIVE COMPENSATION FOR ALL THE MENTAL STRESS AND TRAUMA THEY HAVE MADE ME GO THROUGH FOR 6 MONTHS.

Response:

At this time, my complaint, ID [redacted] regarding I.S.O has been resolved. They have refunded the amount to my card. I haven't received any compensation though. I would want this to be a lesson for them to cheat on people. As they take advantage thinking that the consumer would just leave things unnoticed.

(By clicking "OK", your complaint will be closed as Resolved.)

Review: My name is [redacted]. I am an international student of[redacted] (**). I chose the so-called “[redacted]” from ISO Insurance. But actually this policy does not meet the requirements of ** Health Insurance and failed the waiver. Now I am covered by two insurance plans (one is from ISO, the other one is from **) because ISO declined my request of cancellation and refund. This is a big problem for me. I have enough reasons to get my refund. First, in the website of ** International Services [redacted], it clearly says that for F1 & J1 student, ISO policy will not qualify for a waiver of the ** Health Insurance policy. ISO didn’t show this information to me before I purchase their insurance plan and try to ignore this fact. They insist that it’s not their problem and refuse to take responsibility for the failure of waiver. Second, when problems happened between you and ** Health Service, ISO didn’t try hard to contact them and solve the problem. Instead, they keep pushing the problem to me. And I have gone to ** Health Service for six times!! Third, a female customer service manager from ISO told me on the phone that if I can get an official ** letter which states the reasons for declining the waiver, they can begin to consider my request cancellation and refund. I did this, but one ISO service manager declined very rudely. Fourth, I didn't make any claim since I purchase this insurance plan. [redacted] Health Insurance ###-###-#### [redacted]Desired Settlement: ISO need to cancel the failed insurance plan and I must get refund.

Re: Complaint #[redacted]

Thank you for bringing the above complaint to our attention. Here are the facts as we see them here and our stand:

1. Customer purchased his health insurance plan from ISO on January *, 2013.

2. Customer has signed a disclaimer that "I have read the policy and agree to.the terms and conditions. I wish to enroll for Insurance under the terms of the Master Policy."

3. Customer has signed an additional disclaimer stating that "I hereby authorize ISOA to charge my card for the amount detailed above. I understand that after my enrollment has been processed I will not be able to cancel my services: Premium refunds, less a $50 cancellation processing fee, will be considered on for entry into the armed forces.

4. [redacted] has forced student to purchase their own health insurance plan claiming ISO's plan is insufficient. This has happened only about 1 month after the insurance has started, on or about February *, 2013.

5. Our health insurance plan was designed in accordance of the specific requirements of **, as provided to us in writing by **. Since the insurance has met the requirements known on the date of purchase ** was unlawfully made the student purchase their own policy while he was already covered by our plan.

6. We have constantly notified the student and ** that this is a dispute between ** and the student and ISO is not a part to this dispute. ·

7. We have 56 customers from **, only this student was not able to solve the problem with **. We have no other complain from any other of the 55 customers there.

8. Since the product is an insurance plan purchased for a specific term of 12 months which is in effect from January *, 2012, we cannot change the contract.

9. We have approached ** and the University President's office in order to assist this student but ** has refused to cooperate and we received no reply in writing.

10. Therefore we strongly advise the student to cancel the second policy he purchased after he was already insured under our plan. It is illegal to sell him insurance while he is already insured.

Sincerely,

Ph.D. Chairman of ISO

Review: I purchased a health insurance on October **, 2013 for the first time from this company. I did not know that my employer covers a complete health insurance for me and he gets my emails too. After seeing the email from ISOA, he mentioned me that I already have a health insurance. On October **, 2013 I applied for a cancellation over the phone and they asked me to email a document proof that my employer is offering me a health insurance. I emailed them a letter on October **, from my employer which stated that he is covering my health insurance as long as I was employed with them. The same day they replied me stating that the proof is not enough to cancel my request. They asked me to send another document by 4 PM Friday, ** October 2013. I did not send any as I am annoyed with the company. It is just $109.Desired Settlement: This is not a fair way of doing business. They should not have a policy that their customers should provide a proof of other insurance for cancellation, on the first place. It is the individuals choice to provide his personal documents. On the other hand, how would they decide if one document is enough or not for cancellation. I paid for a service that I never waned and never used. I applied for a cancellation well with in their time limit (before 4 PM Friday, [redacted] OCT). Customer does not have a right to deny their services with this company. This is definitely not a fair way of business. I never make use of their services. They have a cancellation policy of $50 cancellation fee. Fine that is okay, they need to run their customer service reps. They should have refunded me. Its fine with the money. I fee, customer has a right to deny their services no matter what.

Re: Complaint ID [redacted]

Thank you for your assistance in resolving the dispute with reason and just. ISO brokers Accident & Sickness insurance plans to international students coming to study in the U.S. Therefore, we feel we have the duty to provide them with the highest level of customer service, especially when it comes to insurance.

[redacted] first visited our website on October **, 2013, identified himself as a student visa (F1) holder and student at [redacted] in DE. He purchased our COMPASS Silver insurance plan for international students voluntarily, as well as stating and approving with his electronic signature that he is a full time student (which according to his visa status is not permitted to work in the USA).

Furthermore, [redacted] also declared that he read the terms of the policy, which was listed clearly in the plan's brochure, available online and in the place he checked his agreement (online electronic signature). The brochure clearly states that there are specific terms for cancelation and refund, of which the customer agreed to.

Below are the conversation that [redacted] had with our customer care representatives, and it was recorded electronically in our system based on the dates of the conversations:

• 10/**/13 [redacted] called and spoke with our representative (*.) (we keep records of conversations electronically) and asked to cancel his plan because he thought he was buying auto insurance and he already has insurance from his school. The reps, regardless of the refund policy was trying to help by asked him to send proof of insurance from school and email us a written request by 4 PM of the following day.

• [redacted] called again the same day after he emailed an internship offer letter to show proof of insurance. He spoke with ** who told him the letter is not a proof of insurance and is not acceptable. She asked him to send proof or letter from school by 4pm 10/**/2013 -- told him cancellation will be subject to $50 cancellation fee.

• Five days later, on 10/**/2013, [redacted] had his bank called our offices saying that he can't get back his money and that he wants to dispute the charge. Our representative told the banker and [redacted] that we are still waiting for him to send us the proof of insurance from school or from the scholarship office. He said he did. Told him that we don't have it and asked him to resubmit, his line got disconnected.

• ON 10/**/2013 [redacted] emailed us that he did not think our cancellation policy was fair. Our representative explained in length that we are trying to assist him since according to the policy he is not entitled to a refund whatsoever. Our rep explained the offer letter he provided is dated September [redacted] and offer for him to instead send a copy of his insurance card, a letter from his insurance company showing his coverage dates, or a letter from his employer showing he is currently insured. We asked for one of the above for proof by 11/*/2013.

• Instead – we received the Revdex.com complaint letter.

1. Our policy entered into effect on 10/**/2013 and [redacted] was fully covered and is still covered. Our refund policy allows for a refund "only for entry into the armed forces". It also clearly stated that only "unearned funds will be refunded, less a $50 processing fee, for the number of full months only.

2. We were trying to make an exception by offering the member to cancel his insurance and refund him if he shows a proof of insurance. He never did.

3. Our offer is still in effect: once we receive a proof of another insurance covering [redacted] for the dates he purchased his ISO insurance, and giving that he never used our insurance, we will refund him less $50.

I hope you find this offer acceptable by the customer.
