I am writing in response to the complaint made by *** *** *** became an It's Just Lunch (IJL) Client and signed a contract on 12/4/(attached.) She purchased a 6-month membership*** *** went on six dates during her
active dating time
The structure and terms of the membership are reviewed with all prospective Clients before being taken on as a ClientAs a matchmaking service, we provide our Clients with matches using the information discussed during the interview process as a guideIn addition, throughout their membership, each Client is providing feedback on each date after it happensThis feedback is a crucial piece to the IJL process; it is one of the key ways that IJL is able to learn more about the Client and what's working for them and what they would like to focus on moving forwardThat said, we are not able to guarantee chemistry or compatibility between two ClientsThe purpose of the date itself is to determine just that
In *** ***'s complaint, she states that almost all of her matches were at least years older than herIn fact, of the six dates that *** *** had, three of them were in their 30's and three of them were in their 40's(During the interview process, *** *** indicated that she would prefer to meet men who were up to the age of 46; she is 32.)
While *** *** told us she had allergies, she did not indicate that she did not want to meet men with petsHer first date, *** had pets and she did not provide any feedback about that being an issue after she met him*** *** is correct in saying that she then met others who were also pet owners, however, the first time that she ever let us know this was an issue was not until she provided her feedback on her final date
Overall, we were surprised by *** ***'s complaint, mainly due to the fact that she provided positive feedback on majority of her datesOut of her six matches, she indicated that she would have liked to go on a second date with four of them
We stand by our service wholeheartedlyWhile I appreciate *** ***'s feedback, the fact remains that she signed a contract for a membership which involves a processPer the contract she signed, we do not offer membership refunds
Please let me know if there is anything additional I can do to help resolve this complaint

I certainly indicated that I didn't want to meet a man with pets, and I definitely emphasized that cats were out of the questionI know this to be true because I bring it up on every first dateAs for the first match, his dog did not live with him - therefore, it wasn't an issue in that single instance
Additionally, my complaint shouldn't be a surprise as (1) I indicated I'd be filing such a complaint and (2) I complained several times about the matches, and about the service in general
A company that offers a mediocre, at best, service and then stands by its (potentially unconscionable) contract is not a business geared toward pleasing its customersI'd recommend single women, particularly those who are vulnerable (as I was when I was coerced into paying $3,for essentially nothing) stay away from this businessThey will make promises they cannot keep, and in the end, it's an extreme waste of money and a hit to one's self-worth

IJL never even proposed a resolution and, instead, just stands by its contractI merely wish to reiterate that IJL is not a business that aims to help its customers and provide a reliable serviceIJL will simply take (a lot of) your money and give you an - at best - mediocre service in returnWhat they state above is simply false, a stretch of my actual feedbackNo one, especially single women looking for a suitable mate, should pay money for this useless service, and I anticipate this business will not last much longer

IJL has been in business for over yearsEach and every Client's experience is unique and specific to that Client's background, desires and the way that they approach how our service works
