Italian Job Cafe

Review: Here is my story, had dinner at the Italian job Cafe last evening - was seating by a young man, was given a menu and he walked off. I Sat there what seemed to be at least 5 minutes and still not asked if I would like anything to drink - a couple of three came in and was seat in my line of site, he asked. them what they would like to drink as he gave them the menus. He had walked off and brought them their wine and bread my Server had just arrived at the table and introduced self. So at this point the three customers I was facing had wine and bread. I ordered the pasta special $17.?? and nothing else. Ate my meal, when I was almost done my waiter came by and. asked "how was everything".

I received the bill a hard copy and a register tape type one. Not sure what this small recite was I read it and it had. the meal price, 1.7.?? and a charge of 1.5 charge than tax of’ 8.?? and something for taxes. Left an tip on the 17.?? 3.25 dollars. I had called. my server over and ask that the 1.5 charge was for and she told me it was a Harbor taxes the other places just raise their prices but they keep theirs low by charging the Harbor Tax. I Was shocked. I called the other restaurant I eat at in the area Ventura harbor to see if I

missed this on my bills before. The managers of Whales Tail, Seafood Fresh, Rumba line have never heard of such a tax.

I tried to make contact with the Manager-owner whose name was Steve? Or so I was told. On my first call I was told that he was not there and was asked what it was about I told the young lady that I and would like to make an appointment to speak with him. She lead me to believe he may be there for a short time in hour or so, I was great I'll he there between 3-4 PM. I was there about 4PM and he still wasn't there and didn't know when he would be there. I replied WOW he sure trusts the his restaurant in employees hands When he's not around. I was told they are family. I asked who was in charge when he wasn’t there. She reply was that they really weren’t family but have all worked together for four years.

I reminded her of our phone conversation and was lead to believe that the owner would be there. On the way home I got a Call from the Italian Job Cafe and the owner wanted to know why I want to speak with him, he wanted more information, I said thank you and hung up. When I got home, I called and said it was about a complaint and. the young lady insisted in know the details at this point I did not want to play this game anymore.

I begin to feel my temper rising. I wanted to know if he could explain this Harbor Tax and make him aware of the treatment I as a Single person dining in the restaurant was treated.

Another reason I Wanted to make contact with him was because of the two paper recites. I believe the small paper one can be tom up and the evidence of this Harbor tax would never be found.

I would like to be reimbursed for this so called Harbor Tax the 1.5 that was added on after taxes on my bill.
