Review: On March 12th, 2015, at 3:31 p.m. I received an e-mail from Ms. [redacted], a Fraud/Collections/Payfac Specialist at The iTransact Group, requesting information to be sent from a charge back a costumer was claiming from a supposed duplicate credit card processing from one of my clients. In the e-mail, I am being advised that I needed to reply with supporting documentation, regarding the dispute, no later than March 13th, 2015. Also, Ms. [redacted] wrote on the e-mail that iTransact was going to charge the amount of the dispute, $74.35, plus an additional $25.00. I called back to the number provided on the e-mail to speak with Ms. [redacted] about a couple of issues I was having with that e-mail, even though I was confident that the charge to that client's credit card was 100% valid and unfortunately somebody was trying to take advantage of me. First, Ms. [redacted] e-mails me with the request at 3:31 p.m. and expects to have documentation by the closing of the next business day. Anyway, I complied with the ridiculous timed request and spent the next two hours of the afternoon of the 12th downloading and uploading supporting documentation. Second, when asked about if the $25.00 fee would be reimbursed if I was found not at fault for this specific chargeback, her reply was that when I have agreed to the terms and conditions then I had agreed to pay $25.00 in fees every time I had a chargeback. I ask if she could provide me with the specific line where it claims that any chargeback would have an immediate fee of $25.00 and she guided me to find it in my contract and that the contract specifically says there is going to be a $25.00 fee regardless whose at fault. I asked once again to please be provided with that specific clause because I was 100% sure that I have never seen it, and she assured me that I would be able to find that disclosure specifying the $25.00 if I just read the terms at my own time. I asked again, for the third time, for her to e-mail me the terms and conditions and finally she did, I asked her to wait in the phone until I could find the $25.00 Ms. [redacted] kept saying was imprinted in the contract. I was able to read the clause about chargebacks and NOWHERE did it mention any $25.00 fee. The clause specifically said that "We may deduct the amount of any Chargeback and any associated fees" which I immediately pointed out to Ms. [redacted], to which she replied that the $25.00 fee was implied. I asked her why was she retracting from was she was assuring me previously that there was a mention of a $25.00 fee, she again said a a $25.00 fee was implied and that's all they needed in their contract and then proceeded to give me legal advice, which I found awkward, saying that I should file a lawsuit against the customer and go after her for the $25.00 fee, again, super awkward. I told her that if the contract was up to interpretation then I could have interpreted that they were referring to fees regarding that specific transaction, which would be the percentage charged by itransact, which is not deducted from the amount of the chargeback. Also, the chargeback was filed under a "duplicate" transaction, which it was not duplicate, it was a complete different amount, and different date charged to that specific client. I found it extremely ridiculous that an employee of itransact is assuring me of the specifics of a clause, where in fact, there is no mention of that specific fees, and they feel the freedom to withdraw from the bank account whatever fees they feel like it. Also, information about the chargeback was received on Monday, March 16, 2015, on the mail, and first, it gives me another deadline to submit documentation, and second, the specifics on these mail documentation does not mention any fees of $25.00 that are going to be charge.Desired Settlement: I would like to request itransact to refund the $25.00 illegally charged to my bank account and to adjust the terms and conditions to specify exactly how much the vendor is being charged instead of coaching their employees to assure vendors that there is a $25.00 specified in the contract and when the vendors decide to research then retract and leave it open to interpretation, and worst, to interpretation in their favor. A false contract is not acceptable, unless specified, which should include wording like, "regardless of whose at fault for the chargeback, vendor will incurred a $25.00 fee for every chargeback."

Review: Unfair business practice to their merchant account customer

I am a merchant using this company's credit card processing service. I had a customer who ordered $103.90 of merchandise from my online portal (paid using her credit card) but then told me she entered incorrect shipping information. I had to cancel her order because ** system did not allow me to change the shipping address on an order already placed and submitted. I wasn't aware that I had to void that order through itransact so the charge remained on her credit card statement. The customer notified me a few days later and since the customer is a friend of mine instead of giving her a credit card refund through itransact I refunded the entire amount using Bank of America's transfer program. However her husband (not knowing I am already working with her on the refund) notified their credit card company of the $103.90 charge and filed a dispute. But on the same day, after I explained to him the situation he called his credit card company immediately and cancelled the dispute. But 2 weeks later, I received an email from itransact saying they received the dispute from my friend's credit card company on this fraudulent $103.90 charge and the email simply notified me that they have forcibly refunded the $103.90 from my bank account back to my friend's credit card account, and in addition charged me a $25 charge back fee.

I am very upset because iTransact did not give me any opportunity to explain. They only notified me of the charges.

This is extremely unfair because the dispute had been dismissed over a week ago, and I thought the whole thing was over since I had promptly refunded the entire amount to the customer already. If iTransact had contacted me first before taking the fund out of my account, I could have explained the situation and I could have provided proof that the refund had already taken place and there is no longer a dispute.

My friend contacted his credit card company for me after hearing this and they do have a record of his dismissal of the original dispute, so not sure why iTransact was not notified of the dismissal. But in either case, iTransact as my merchant account servicing company should have worked with me on this, instead of just assuming I was at fault and forcing the refund. I am iTransact's customer and this is no way to treat a customer.

My friend also contacted iTransact and they told me afterwards that although the $103.90 will eventually be refunded back to me after they receive notice from my friend's credit card company that the dispute has been dismissed, the $25 charge back fee is not refundable and it is out of my pocket.Desired Settlement: In addition to refund me the $103.90 back to my bank account, also refund the $25 chargeback fee.

The Complaint issued by [redacted] is invalid as the withdrawal was due to a Chargeback one of her customer's issued against her company. iTransact simply withdrew the funds for the Chargeback, as those are the necessary precautions to take until the Chargeback is resolved between the customer, the customer's bank, and the merchant- [redacted]

Once [redacted]'s Customer contacted their bank to have the Chargeback resolved, the bank contacted us at iTransact and we released the funds back to [redacted] This took place on 06/17/2014.

iTransact did notify [redacted] Li via multiple email confirmations, when this refund was issued. Below is a copy of one of the emails sent to [redacted] to let her know this was resolved.

On 6/23/2014 12:17:32 PM [redacted] emailed [redacted] / TICKET ID [redacted]-XXX-XXXXX:

Review: My company was doing business with iTransact out of Utah for our credit card processing. we found after some 2 years that the company had moved the MasterCard License Volume fees (an interchange fee) over to being an iTransact service fee. they also adjusted that same charge from .00038% up to .0038% this resulted in over billing to my company in the amount of $1480.25 over an 18 month time period. Further, I found out that they have done this to many other companies who had used their services for credit card processing. Some they have paid back and others like me they have chosen not to pay back. This is dishonest and illegal, and we demand a refund of what we have paid. This company (iTransact) needs to be investigated and required to pay back all over billed amounts not only to me but also to all other companies which they have ripped off.

I simply want and require for iTransact and it's owner [redacted] to pay my company back the money that they have taken dishonestly.
