[redacted] called the week before Christmas, needing boarding for [redacted], her shepherd mix. After wehad visited a few minutes, it was clear the [redacted] would need a room vs. a kennel. Meaning on suchshort holiday notice, I would need to do...

some juggling to be able to accommodate the client. Once Iexplained to [redacted] that I could not make a boarding reservation until a temperament test had beencompleted, including verification of vaccinations.
[redacted] originally scheduled a temperament test for Sunday, December 20th, 2015. Calling backwanting to reschedule the temperament test for Saturday, December 19th, 2015. We did.
At this time [redacted] made boarding reservations for [redacted] starting December 23rd thru December29th, 2015. The check she wrote was for $261.99$10.00    application fee$ 3.99     toy$222.00  boarding 6 nights$ 26.00   daycare (day of pick up)$261.99  [redacted] called on Sunday, December 20th, 2015 and cancelled the boarding reservation.
The application clearly states under "Rules & Regulations" sub category "cancellation" and"reservations" that a 5-day cancellation notice is required or you forfeit the deposit.
I feel I was very fair in how I handled the situation. As soon as I was able to fill the room/reservationtime that [redacted]/[redacted] booked, that was alii charged her for. Even though it clearly states withoutthe 5-day cancellation notice you forfeit the deposit. I refunded the remaining amount of $100.00.
[redacted] was only charged for four nights ($37 .00 per night) the 23rd thru the 26th and the tworemaining nights and daycare refunded.
In which you can see I promptly sent a cashiers check/refund.

I am not sure why [redacted] was under the impression of the 72 hr cancellation notice. In 14 years ofbusiness, it has always been the same. Perhaps it was another facility. On such short holiday notice Iam such she had to do a lot of searching to find a facility even willing to consider her as a new client.
