The service that was promise was not doneI took my 1991[redacted] to its ready auto on brooks on march 8, 2014. They stated that I needed a transmission. They stated that they will rebuild it for 975, I asked them why so cheap theysaid cause its an older model car and we look out for our customers. Yea right. I had a strange feeling but my boyfrienfd said lets give this black own business a chance, I said I'm let you lead. The owner stated we will get our car back in three days. We didn't get our car back until two weeks later. The car stopped on me on the expressway, I got it towed to another shop and they stated that I need a transmisson, I stated I just hot this one rebuilt, the auto shop which got a A+ stated that this was not rebuilt it was from a junk year, which I highly believe. I always check Revdex.com but I let my boyfriend take over, if Iwould have checked this first I would have saw the C average and the other complaints. I know the other people that made a complaint is telling the truth because he got very nasty with my boyfriend. Talking about he from the street and all. What kind of business man is he. He also wanted us to tell our friends about him, I sure will tell them.NEVER GO TO ITS READY AUTO, THEY ARE A RIP OFF.Desired SettlementI want my transmisson fixed or my money backBusiness Response My name is [redacted], I am the Owner of It's Ready Auto and this is my response to complaint XXXXXXXX. This customer brought their 1991[redacted] to the shop on or around March 8, 2014 and told me what the car was doing. My mechanic inspected the car and said they needed a transmission. I gave them an estimate of $975.00 for this work order. They agreed and paid $500.00 and the $475.00 balance when the car was complete a few weeks later. The price they were given is a base rate for that job. First of all, per my policy I would have never informed a customer this job would be completed in three days especially at the time their vehicle was brought in being one of my busiest times of the year. They picked up their car and I didn't hear back from either of them about any issues with this[redacted] until the end of October. I informed the customer I would research their work order and give them a call back. This customer was contacted on October 28th and informed that they were past their warranty period however I would inspect their car per my policy ($50.00 check out fee, if I do the work fee waived if estimate declined they responsible for that $50.00 fee) and if it were something we did I would take care of it. The customer said he would give us a call back but I haven't spoken back to either of them. I haven't exchanged any harsh words or a disrespectful tone with this customer. I do apologize for this rationalization but if I spent roughly $1000.00 on my car and three days later it broke down why get it towed somewhere other than the shop that repaired it. That makes no sense at all. Then if you did take it to another shop and they informed you, you need a transmission but you just had transmission work done why not call the shop you just paid $975.00 to for transmission work. It has been over seven months since they picked their car up from my shop and I have not received one phone call about any issues with their car until now. I am not going to go back and forth with them about this issue they will not be receiving any money because honestly if something was wrong with their car days after it left my shop and they contacted me that issue would have been handled. Thanks for your time and if you need any additional information, please feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience.[redacted]It's Ready Auto967 East Brooks RoadMemphis, TN XXXXX(XXX) XXX-XXXX cell(XXX) XXX-XXXX ofc/fax[redacted]@aol.comConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)We have called plenty of times, either they won't answer or he had to take his daughter somewhere.yes he did get very rude that's how we know he was up to no good why take the car back to a place who ripped us off in the first place. We ask if we could bring it back up there but he stated this amount that amount, so I knew he had messed us over. A good business will be like bring it in we will see what is wrong for free, we want you to come back. Now since then I have had two estimates both said I need a transmission, I stated I just had it rebuilt they stated no way. I just want everyone know this shop is NO GOOD, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. If they was so concern they was reach out to thier customers. He also never stated it was rebuilt. Of course you never heard from us doing the time it was working cause it was working. You all just did enough to get it moving. Its ashamed how people can just take your money and get away with it.

I took my car(1985 [redacted] the shop on 3/19/14.I paid $50 upfront to have it diagnosed so that they could tell me what exactly was wrong with it.I was told I needed some head work, new radiator, water pump, timing belt, and cooling sensor. The total came out to be 1,065.00.I was told that if they do the work the $50 diagnostic fee would go to my remaining balance. If they didn't do the work I would owe $50 dollars.I came back the next day 3/20/14 to pay half the money.I paid $500.I was also told the job would take a week to finish but it end up being 2weeks and still wasn't finished. After 2 weeks I was told that I had 3 cars infront of me that I knew nothing about. Then I was told that they couldn't fix the head cause they were cracked.I was told all this 2 weeks after my car had just been sitting at the shop.So he suggested I just get a new motor but I didn't have the money for new motor. So I ask for my money back.I went back up there on 4/5/14 to get my money back.Out of $500 I only got $50 dollars back. The owner told me even though they didn't fix it he still had to charge me.I was charged $450 for a breakdown fee.Which I knew nothing about a breakdown fee. That should've been explained upfront. My receipt says nothing about a breakdown fee.I feel like I just got ripped off.The guy was very unprofessional because he was never calling me and updating me on anything.I was constantly having to call him.I am very upset about this and I am still demanding my money back.Desired SettlementI want my $450 dollars back.I was treated unfairly and the shop had bad customer service.I was took advantage of.There is no way that it cost $450 dollars to break my car down.I have never heard of a breakdown fee, thats ridiculous.I knew nothing about this. How are you gone charge me for something that wasnt explained?Business Response My name is [redacted]. I am the Owner of It's Ready Auto/1/2 Off Towing and this is my response to complaint XXXXXXXX. This customer brought his 1985 [redacted] to my shop on March 19, 2014. My secretary informed him of our policy and procedure ($50.00 fee to diagnose the vehicle and give an estimate if we do the work this fee is waived). On March 20, my mechanic did a pre-diagnosis of the vehicle and this customer was contacted and given an estimate of $1065.00 parts and labor and he would have to pay half upfront and the balance when job finished. He asked me could I go any lower and I told him that was a good price and because of the person who referred him I knocked a few dollars off plus labor is $75.00 an hour and engine work is time consuming. He came in and paid $500.00 and the $50.00 was waived. I informed him that if we ran into any other issues he would be contacted. He asked me how long would it take and I told him honestly I couldn't give him a time frame because I was down to one mechanic and there were a few cars ahead of him. I told him I would give him a call when his car was pulled in for breakdown and repair. When the mechanic began working on his vehicle he noticed the heads were cracked. I sub out to a company for head jobs and was informed that his heads were beyond repair and he would have to replace the engine. I contacted him and asked him to come to the shop and I showed him his issue and told him he needed a motor but he said he couldn't afford it. When he said he couldn't afford it we had to put his car back together. He felt I should refund his money. I informed him the estimate he was given was a base rate for a breakdown fee and an install fee for head and engine jobs and other preliminary findings for his car. My mechanic spent hours removing his engine and putting it back in. I told him with auto repairs especially engine jobs you never know what you will find until you actually began repair that is why it is an estimate. I could have charged him for additional hours of labor but I didn't, I informed him the only money that I could refund to him was the $100.00 for the radiator and he was given $100.00 not just the $50.00 he stated. I did apologize to him and a few other customers for having their vehicles a little longer than normal. One of my mechanics had a family emergency and had to leave town and this was right in the middle of the income tax rush so we were swamped and running a few days behind. I understand his frustration but when an estimate is given the amount could go higher or lower depending on the internal findings. This is basic policy and procedure and his issue was a lot serious than the pre-diagnosis indicated and the mechanics have to be compensated for their hours spent on every vehicle even if the customer decides not to get the car repaired for whatever reason. I hate he feels I ripped him off but that's not the case this is business. I require half down on engine and transmission jobs because it is a two part process. I do several engine and other repairs and I do get a few customers that have major issues once we start repair and when I inform them and they just can't afford to have their car repaired they understand and don't make a fuss about the amount they paid upfront. I believed up until this point that I thoroughly explained my policy and procedure but in the future I will make sure the customers are fully made aware if the job requires extra work than previously diagnosed and the customer declines repair the customer is still liable for hours spent on their car. As for his claim of unprofessionalism neither me or my staff were unprofessional to him. He did come to the shop and was told that he was not allowed to enter the automotive area unless he was accompanied by me and he and the man who referred him came around back and entered that area and my mechanic did tell them they had no business back there and they had to wait on me. That wasn't unprofessional that was policy to keep customers safe from incident. There isn't anything more I could have done for this customer and all issues he addressed to you were explained to him as professional and customer friendly as I could. If you have any additional questions or comments, please contact me at your earliest convenience. [redacted]It's Ready Auto/1/2 Off Towing967 East Brooks RoadMemphis, TN 38116(XXX) XXX-XXXX[redacted]@aol.comConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)This guy is a complete rip off.I wasnt notified upfront that if they took the car apart and ran into another problem and if I didn't wanna get it fixed I would still have to pay for the labor.I wasnt told that at all.I paid a $50 dollar diagnosis fee for him to tell me whats exactly wrong with it.I was only told that if I decided to not get the car fix, I couldn't get that $50 dollars back. I didnt expect for him to run into another problem. He saying he had to pay his workers for the time spent on the car what does that have to do with me? Im sure he has ripped enough people off he could've paid them out of his own pocket.I already knew up front that I needed head work.So it was no surprise that my heads were cracked. So my thing is if you knew my heads was probably cracked then why not just tell me upfront to get a new motor.Instead of taking all those parts off knowing that I would've been better off getting a new motor. He was afraid I probably wasn't gone get another motor so he rather just take my money. He aslo lying about giving me a $100 dollars I got $50 back.My mechanic was there and witness this.I was also not told that I had a few cars infront of me.He's lying about that.If I would've knew that he wouldn't have gotten my money and thats why he didn't tell me.You cant sit up here and tell me that you taking my car apart came out to be $450 dollars no way.Now he's saying oh labor is $75 dollars an hour.Cut it out. Then to show how guilty and ignorant this guy really is he leaves a voicemail on my phone after I filed my first complaint. He's calling me [redacted] and using aggressive language. He also says man this isnt the first time somebody reported me which lets you know he's a snake. He was upset because I filed a complaint. If you did everything right and didn't rip me off then what are you upset about? He's mad because he's being exposed.I still have the voicemail and I have my receipt.I wont stop until I get a refund or until justice is served. This guy is a snake.I am willing to do as much as I can to plead my case.If I have to write a hundred more responses I will.If I have to sue I will.Thank you guys for your time and have a great day.God Bless! Final Business Response This is my final response to complaint #XXXXXXXX. First of all in order to get to the heads the engine had to be disassembled. As I stated we don't do the heads here and the mechanic who inspected the heads saw the cracks when it was on the machine. If there is a possibility the heads can be repaired that's always the more reasonable option, but he was also informed of the worst case which would be another engine but we needed to check out the heads first. As he stated his mechanic was with him so I'm sure if a motor was what he needed and we knew for sure he would have been informed. He said it was no surprise his heads were cracked then why not inform me to replace the engine not repair the heads. This customer needed an engine and he didn't want to purchase one I had no issues putting it in. I will not go back and forth with this customer about things that I know he was informed of. As for the voice mail I left, I was wrong to leave him a message but the things I said may have come out wrong but I stand behind it. When he was here and was told he needed to get an engine he said he couldn't afford it and as upset as he seem to be in this complaint to you, he should have addressed it with me. When I received this complaint and saw it was from him, I was appalled and reacted rather quickly because I didn't expect this from him. I follow my policy and procedure with every customer and in his case I did all that I could for him and I really hate he feels otherwise. Whatever actions he feel he need to move forward with that's on him. As I stated in my original response to this complaint, I have been making sure me as well as my staff inform all customers of our procedure to avoid future issues. I have been providing customer service for quite sometime and you can't make everyone happy. I can honestly say I have more satisfied customers than the one or two disgruntled ones. If you need additional information, please contact me at your earliest convenience.Mr. [redacted]It's Ready Auto/1/2 Off Towing967 East Brooks RoadMemphis, TN XXXXX(XXX)XXX-XXXX[redacted]@aol.com
