Review: We ordered a new dress on Sunday 1/** in a size 10 for my son’s wedding. We were told to pay in full and were reassured the dress would be ordered and that we would be called when the dress arrived. On Monday, 1/** the store is closed however, I left a phone message asking that if the order had not yet been placed that we would like the dress size to be ordered in a size 8. On Wednesday 1/** I called at 11am when the shop opened to follow up and spoke to [redacted] the [redacted] and stated that I had left a message the prior day and was at the store on Sunday and purchased a new dress that we would like to switch the size if possible. [redacted], the [redacted] told me it wouldn’t be a problem and to send her an email requesting the change and state we take full responsibility for ordering a smaller size. I did as instructed and after I sent my email, [redacted] responded to my email stating she was able to switch the size and there would be an additional charge. I sent a responding email stating she never mentioned there would be an additional charge and that I do not agree to those terms. [redacted] then responded to my email stating that we paid for a dress on sale and got 25% off the dress in the store. She went on to state in her email that “In no store do you get a gown that is on sale and order a new one”. Confused, I responded to her email that we requested a new dress and were reassured multiple times that she was ordering a new dress and that even in this prior email chain she mentioned she was able to switch the size. Not once did she mention she was selling us the sample store dress—we would have never agreed to those terms. In the same email, I told her that her story is conflicting and that I want a full refund. She still has not yet replied to my email.

After this conversation, I did some research and found horrible reviews online about this store and how they pull this bait and switch stunt all the time. This store is highly unprofessional and this method of business is unacceptable. They are not to be trusted and should not be in business. I’ve attached my email chain as well as reviews I found online on how the same thing has happened to others. Additionally, someone has already reported them the Revdex.com and they have received a D rating. I would appreciate any help your organization can give me to help resolve this matter and get me my money back so that I can purchase a new dress for my son’s wedding elsewhere. I can’t believe that this shop, [redacted] specifically, would play around and hurt people’s feelings in this way knowing I was purchasing a dress for my son’s wedding such a big event.

I appreciate any help you can provide me.

Review: At the end of January 2014, we purchased a black and nude Jasz Couture Prom gown from Teen Pix in Syosset, also known as Its Simply for you. The gown was defective and beading and trim was loose and fell off within an hour of wearing the garment.

The sample gown my daughter tried on was the exact size she needed. However, I was promised that a brand new gown would be ordered for us. When we picked up the dress several months later, the store told us not to try the gown on because it was a sensitive dress and we should wait until it was time for alterations. Therefore, in June, 10 days before my daughter’s prom, when we went to the tailor to have it hemmed. The seamstress questioned if it was a dress that was worn already due to the fact that it was missing and loose beads. I told her it was supposed to be a new dress that they ordered. She felt this was not true.

We have tried to resolve this problem directly with the store [redacted]. We have contacted them several times and left messages for the [redacted], who never acknowledged our calls. We were given different excuses repeatedly that she was out of the country for several weeks, or out of the store and to try and call back another time. We are requesting a refund of the cost of the gown being that it was defective.Desired Settlement: Request refund of dress and we will return the garment
