Review: [redacted] added me on LinkedIn. I seen he Is involved with the film industry so I accept his request to add me. Today on july-10-2013 at 11:34am tom [redacted] messages me telling me that he is looking for models and to give him a call at ###-###-####. I call the number and left a voice message. His assistant [redacted] or [redacted] calls me back from telephone number ###-###-#### telling me that mr. [redacted] is at lunch but can call you back when he comes in. So I ask her what type of modeling would I be doing? She said prints, adds, commercials, runway, mainly modeling though. But they are a talent agency also. She also asked for my height, weight, and waiste size for pants? After she said we will haft to run a background check. She insured we do it to all of our clients and that its free and would only take 15 minutes to be checked so I said ok. She asked do you give me permission to run a background check? I said yes. So she asked for my first and last name, my address, drivers license number, my birthday, and social security number. I said why do you need my license number? She said because you will be getting paid more than regular we want to make sure our clients have a clear background also. and that there high clients included saks, some extra work, and runway. I said I can't do runway. I'm not tall enough I can only do print work that's it. And she said well we do have jobs we need that $15 dollars or go to the sheriff station and get one from them for the background check before they could go further? And that I could discuss it with mr. [redacted] if that would be better? I said ok. After I got off the phone with his secretary I try doing my own research on them? Nothing came up at all when I typed Its talent agency in new orleans or ITS agency. It wasn't even among the other talent agencies here in new orleans at all with the others. So after browsing around trying to find research on this agency nothing still comes up except some freight company. And I find this elite website thinking this isnt it? I called back the receptionist asking her if I could have there website address? She said okay. The address is [redacted].I said how is ITS mixed in with ELITE? She clearly said that ITS is under ELITE. And that they are Elite just under Elite as ITS. I said oh ok I see. And than she said we are looking for models if I know of any I should call her and tell her because they are in need of models. I said um ok. Than she said I think mr [redacted] just came in from lunch? So she comes back and said he should be calling me in a bit. I said okay thanks. I try to hurry up and check the web address she gave me and I remember I was on it the first time but thinking maybe I missed somthing? So nothing still comes up and Mr. [redacted] calls me. The man does not even sound like a guy. He sounded more like a women. And tells me that he understands the background check didn't go through. But they needed that $15 dollars first. I said I don't have that kind of money right now. But your receptionist told me it was free and it would only take 15 minutes and while we were waiting she said somthing isn't right and that now I haft to pay $15 dollars for the background check? And mr. [redacted] replied saying that his receptionist should have known it was $15 dollars and that they needed it. So I said I don't have the funds I don't get paid till tomorrow maybe? He said if you give us your card number we can process it and have it done by the next morning. And that they accept cash, money order, and credit card, and check. Or I could go to the sheriff's and pay $20 dollars to get a background report from them or just pay them $15 dollars and save more money to do it through them over the telephone? I said no thats okay. Just incase I don't have the funds available in my account tomorrow I can stop at the sheriff's office to get my background check from them and drop it off to them in person? He said ok. I asked for the address? He gave me [redacted] and I asked what time would be good to drop it off if I am able to bring it tomorrow? He said anytime after ten. I said ok. And after he said are you sure you don't want to do it through us its only going to cost less? I said I'm sure. He responded saying ok I'm just trying to help I said ok thanks. After I got off the phone I searched some more on the web and found an old elite address here in Metairie, and kenner. I called the number they had on these different web pages but when I called it said the number was disconnected. I went back to the site his secretary gave me and knew somthing wasn't right? So I called the elite location in Miami and asked the front receptionist over there if they had another agency listed under them by the name of ITS? She said no we don't at all. And I ask if they had any locations in new orleans? She said no we don't. I told her of the situation that was going on and she said noone by the name of [redacted] is apart of Elite at all. I then told her that they said to me that there agency was under elites main website with it? She said that if I forwarded her the email to them stating that they said there agency was under elite with them she would forward it to her main boss and they would take legal action on it? I said they only said it over the phone to me. She said then we can't do anything about it.Desired Settlement: Truth be told this isn't the first time this has happened to me. Im an honest hard working young man that has been told throughout my life I have what it takes to model. But along the way my mother was scammed out of her money twice from agencies claiming they could help me get further in modeling. My one and only request I ask is to help me achieve what I want of becoming a real model. I didn't do anything to these people for them to try and con me like this. Thats all I want.
