We were more than fair with this customer. The wheel was inspected and repaired properly. Customer took the wheel and then called back a couple days later being very rude and demanding a complete refund on his credit card. We explained that...

we would have to see his wheel or have proof of the problem with it but he was not willing to provide any proof of the problems and then said that he no longer has the wheel. No business would provide a refund with out seeing the product or problem not even a picture.
Thanks

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2017/03/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I am sorry, but fairness is not keeping a customers money for a repair job that produced an end product that was not fixed. It was "not me" who determined that your work was not useable, it was the technicians at [redacted]. It was "not me" who determined that the wheel could not be balanced,it was the technicians at [redacted]. It was not me who determined that the wheel would run with a flat spot, it was the technicians at [redacted]. If the tire was usable after it was fixed this matter would not even be up for discussion and nor would I be approaching a business for a refund. I was not "rude" I relayed the facts and then asked you for a refund. It was your shop repairman who stated it was fully repaired: he did not balance or run it in your shop to determine this, but [redacted] did this work and determined it was not useable. In regards to the proof, I asked you, [redacted] Carstar, to call [redacted] and ask them about the wheel, you refused and wanted to see the wheel and you used this as your stand. I explained earlier that in order to purchase a new wheel with [redacted] I had to turn in the core of the broken wheel for a discount. I was and am not trying to hide anything this was the process, and the actions I took were taken to enable me to get my vehicle fully repaired and back to original state. I can provide the invoice to show anyone that [redacted] took the core for the refund policy, I can provide receipts where [redacted] took my tires off my two other newly purchased rims and then put them back on because they could not balance the wheel. This whole process was a long one, I put a product into [redacted] Carstar Collision to be repaired, I took the repair at face value and went to [redacted] for the tire installation, the wheel could not be balanced and would run with a flat spot leaving me with only one option: purchase a new wheel for my [redacted] for the price of $[redacted]. I am not attempting to pull the wool over anyone eyes here and the total bill for this unfortunate incident was over $[redacted]. As I stated earlier this is not "[redacted]" saying the product was not fixed, it was [redacted] a professional in the vehicle tire and wheel business. I did not fabricate this issue as I tried the most economical repair for my issue, was informed the job was done to 100% repair and then another professional tells me that the wheel is not repaired and [redacted] cannot install this wheel on my automobile. I fail to see where it is me making a determination on the work, it is another professional entity. That is my rationale for a refund and I have not and will not try to be compensated for anything frivolous. Thank you for your time. [redacted]
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2017/03/15) */
We further reviewed this case and will offer to send a refund for half of the bill $[redacted] I hope that our customer understands our policy for warranty and refunds. This is not something that we should have to refund. Customer should have called us at the time that [redacted] had the problem and before the wheel was returned. Everything could have been dealt with quickly and would not be wasting peoples time and money. We do not purposely try to avoid any problems with our work. I hope that this refund satisfies our customer. We can mail a check to [redacted]
Thanks

Review: The school will not release a Pell grant payment to me that has been paid to the school.

The Pell grant was released to the school and I then received a letter stating that the funds were accredited to my account on September 17. After a few weeks of not receiving it I emailed a financial advisor and got to response then about a week later I emailed again and still have heard nothing back. As a full time student I can't afford to have my funds held and then ignored.Desired Settlement: I would like to be able to pick up my funds.

O received the money and would like to cancel the complaint

I went to itt for about three years and received a associates degree in visual communications which is graphic design. I applused to every job I could find for over a year and no one would hire me even a company the suggested and supposedly hires students in my field. Still can't get a job with my degree so I work part time at a store and run my own business while sitting in a pile of debt. One of my loans was supposed to be Co signed by my parents and me be the main signer asked my finacial person many times before signing in the end I wasnt even on the loan Auf my parents had to Re mortgage their house to pay it off. The signed my name in multiple loans I didn't agree on. I never received help from their job enlisting program that is supposed to help you for life. They know you can't find work becausethe 45k degree you get is worthless. I am now in like 80k debt and it continues to climb and I can't get anything because my debt is horrible! Stay away! !!!!!!!

Review: I'm from Green Bay WI and I'm filing a complaint on ITT Techical Institute for many issues. To start off I'm no longer and active student there, I've just recently transferred away because of the following issues; There are no instructors there that are full time, I have duplicates of text books that we never used, I'm required to take class just to shell out extra money that are completely irrelevant to the major I was studying, instuctors not showing up to class or late, instructors lying about grades to make students look better for employment and to bring in more financial aid, instructors books and tests don't match corporate, classes are sped through as if they are advanced classes for already experienced people even though they are only "basic", they lied to me and my other classmates for my program from the beginning. There was twelve of us when we started in March of 2012 and we all went there for the schools game design program and the school said "yes of course", then two weeks later when we started they said "that program doesn't exist anymore so we put all of you in graphic design". These two programs are not alike at all. Now I supposedly owe the SCHOOL $22,ooo in tuiton for an education I never recieved, we were all basically set up to fail just so the school would get 40,000 from every student for free. I'm still a student and only work part time, how am I to pay this kind of money that I simply don't have or make? A few months ago the "chair" for my former program decided to just leave us hanging and go to another school and because of this my classmates that are still there now have to wait until March to graduate instead of this coming December. I've tried contacting the financial office there several times and they are choosing to ignore me on trying to figure out this issue. Time is running out, I have an entire student file in my possession right now and most of this paper work is based on "estimates" shouldn't my student funding be 100% accurate?Desired Settlement: All of the issues I've stated above are happening at every ITT campus around the country and not in just my former program it's every program they offer!! All the issues have been repetitive every quarter for the last year and a half that I spent there. After all of this I truly don't believe I should owe the school anything, especially if they make 40,000 off of every single student but can't afford to keep any full time instructors. This business should have been shutdown years ago.

RE: Complaint ID [redacted]

Dear Mr. [redacted]:

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the complaint filed with your office by our former student, [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] attended ITT Technical Institute-Green Bay, WI beginning in March 2012 until his self-elected withdrawal on October 1, 2013.

Mr. [redacted] alleges that the school has no full-time instructors and that instructors are late to class, inflate students’ grades, and do not adequately teach the curriculum. Mr. [redacted] also claims that students are required to purchase duplicates of textbooks that are not used and that the textbooks that are used do not match the tests or the curriculum. Mr. [redacted] further alleges that he was enrolled in a program that did not exist, was then switched to a different program, never received the education he paid for, and that the resignation of the department chair in Mr. [redacted]’s program of study has delayed the graduation for all of the students in Mr. [redacted]’s cohort. Mr. [redacted] also disputes the accuracy of his charges. We have reviewed Mr. [redacted]’s allegations and determined the following:

1.Mr. [redacted] enrolled in our institution in the associate of science degree program in Graphic Communications and Design (GCD) and began attending his courses in the March 2012 quarter. Mr. [redacted]’s record does indicate that he expressed an interest in the bachelor of science degree program in Digital Entertainment and Game Design (DEGD), but the Green Bay school was not enrolling students in the DEGD program at the time of Mr. [redacted]’s enrollment. ITT Technical Institute does not represent new classes in a program of study will begin in each academic quarter. This is discussed in the Programs and Courses Offered section of the school’s Catalog, the receipt of which Mr. [redacted] acknowledged at the time of his enrollment. This Catalog section states in pertinent part:

New classes in every program of study do not begin every academic quarter. Course offerings and new classes in programs of study are dependent on a variety of factors, including student interest and faculty availability, among others. The school will, in its discretion, determine which courses will be offered each academic quarter and which programs of study will begin new classes each academic quarter. The school does not make any representation or promise whatsoever that any course will be offered by the school in any academic quarter or that a new class in any program of study will begin in any academic quarter. As a result, a student may not be able to take all of the courses that he or she desires to take in any academic quarter or begin a program of study in any academic quarter, which may affect the amount of time it takes the student to graduate from a particular program of study.

Mr. [redacted] decided to enroll in the GCD program, and he remained enrolled in the GCD program until his self-elected withdrawal on October 1, 2013. There is no evidence to support Mr. [redacted]’s claim that he was ever enrolled in any program other than the GCD program or that he did not receive the education as contracted in his signed Enrollment Agreement.

While it is true that the Green Bay school has a mix of full-time and adjunct staff and instructors, without any specific courses or instructor’s names to investigate, we are unable to substantiate Mr. [redacted]’s claims that instructors are late to class, inflate students’ grades, and do not adequately teach the curriculum. We are also unable to investigate Mr. [redacted]’s allegation that text books do not match tests or the curriculum without knowing which specific books, tests, and courses Mr. [redacted] is referring to. We are not aware of other students expressing similar concerns regarding the faculty or the textbooks, and these actions are not consistent with our institution’s policies and practices. Additionally, [redacted] James [redacted] is not aware of any grade inflation, instructors arriving late to classes or not teaching the curriculum accurately, or of any issues with textbooks not matching tests or the curriculum. [redacted] reported that he had a conversation with Mr. [redacted] shortly before he decided to withdraw from his program, during which Mr. [redacted] explained that he was not entirely satisfied with the school’s curriculum content because he did not believe general education courses were necessary. [redacted] stated that Mr. [redacted] indicated he believed his instructors were qualified and competent teachers, and he made no mention of any issues with textbooks.

3.Mr. [redacted] also claims that he was charged for duplicate copies of textbooks. As the cost of textbooks is included in the tuition charges, Mr. [redacted]’s claim is not accurate. He may have received duplicate copies of textbooks for courses he was required to re-take as a result of failures or withdrawals, but he was not charged separately or additionally for any textbooks.

4.Mr. [redacted]l is correct that the chairperson administering the GCD program resigned while he was a student. [redacted] has explained, however, that this resignation had no effect on Mr. [redacted]’s or any other student’s projected graduation date. Had Mr. [redacted] remained enrolled, he would have been required to re-take and successfully complete any courses from which he had withdrawn or failed. By interrupting his sequence of courses in this way, his original projected graduation date would have been delayed.

Finally, Mr. [redacted] has disputed the accuracy of his charges at the Green Bay school. While enrolled at ITT Technical Institute, Mr. [redacted]’s total charges were $34,348.55. His total payments were $11,913.00. This left a balance due to the school of $22,435.55. The following table itemizes the funding Mr. [redacted] received to apply toward his charges at the Green Bay school:

Title IV Stafford Unsubsidized Loans $3,973.00

Title IV Stafford Subsidized Loans $7,940.00

Total funds received and applied to charges $11,913.00

Mr. [redacted] applied for and received the Title IV student loan funding for which he was eligible, and these funds were applied toward the cost of his education. We are unable to substantiate that these charges were calculated incorrectly.

When he was advised by the Green Bay Finance Department that he needed to address his outstanding balance, Mr. [redacted] initiated a loan application with a private lender on July 24, 2013, but he did not complete the loan application process, and no funds were received to apply toward the balance on his account. After Mr. [redacted]’s withdrawal on October 1, 2013, the Green Bay Finance Department sent him a statement of account letter dated October 2, 2013. [redacted] ([redacted]) [redacted] met with Mr. [redacted]l on October 15, 2013 to discuss his charges and his outstanding balance. Mr. [redacted] was provided with his Student Financial History, and [redacted] explained the charges and the Title IV funds received to apply towards those charges as well as the resulting balance due to the school. Mr. [redacted] called back on October 28, 2013, at which time [redacted] suggested a payment plan for Mr. [redacted] to satisfy his outstanding balance. [redacted] also explained to Mr. [redacted] that were he to pursue a private education loan application, he would no longer be able to list ITT Technical Institute on the application as the certifying institution because he was now attending a different school. Mr. [redacted] called again on November 15, 2013 leaving a voicemail for [redacted] who then returned the call and left a voicemail for Mr. [redacted] on November 18, 2013. [redacted] received no further communication from Mr. [redacted] after leaving the voicemail on November 18.

Thank you again for allowing us to respond to Mr. [redacted]’s concerns. Please contact us if you have any questions or need additional information.
