Review: I bought an electric bicycle from this store at the price of $1499+tax a month ago to be used as a daily commuter for work. Since day one, the bike had various problems such as rusting parts (in a 2 weeks old bikes), very very squeaky wheels and brakes, the battery key will not turn easily (with a risk of breaking the key), the sit height could not be adjusted, sometime the battery will stop working in the middle of the ride, some gears could not be shifted too.I went back to store to ask about these problems so an employee took the bike for a ride and said everything looks ok, lubricated a couple of parts and sent me home.A week later I came back saying that the problems persist and that I cannot get to work if the battery stops working in the middle of the ride. The bike weighs 58 pounds and cannot be ridden without the battery. I've been told this is the quality of the bike - "cheap Chinese quality" as the owner of the store said. I said that according to these defects I ask for a full refund. He then questioned the fact that I bought the bike from his store and when I insisted (obviously) he said that there are no refunds and that anywhere else I would be "[redacted]" (his words). It's important to mention that their return policy is not printed and showing anywhere visible in the store and I was not told that they do not give refund in a case of a defect. He did offer to buy the bike from me as used (3 weeks old bike!) for store credit at the value of HALF the price of the bike and offered to sell me a more expensive bike for $2700.A month has passed already and I have to borrow a car to get to work while looking for another solution.Desired Settlement: I would like to return the bike a receive a full refund.

All manufacturer’s warranty their individual products. Ivan Stewart Electric Bike Center is aware of Mr. [redacted] concerns.On 3 occasions our mechanic adjusted, lubricated and test rode his bike trying to satisfy him . We were unable duplicate any of Mr. [redacted] concerns. Our bike center is highly rated and would never use profanity’s. We suggested and continue to sugest Mr [redacted] contact the manufacture of his concerns. Every customer is important to us and we strive to make them happy. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I left work to return to the store to pick up the bike to find that it was damaged by their "mechanic" (who is actually a minor with no official training). I refused to take the bike with the damages - a severe scratch on the frame that removed the anti-rust coating and the battery cover was scratched and had bubble gum stuck to it (according to the "mechanic"). I went back to work after I was told the manager will call me regarding this issue, and not forgetting to take pictures of the damages. 30 minutes later I received a call from the "mechanic" that I have to pick up the bike even though it was damaged and there's nothing they can do. I refused again and then the manager called.

I cannot take any more time off work to go back to the store and handle this issue. I was not told about the store policy when I made the purchase and it does not matter since I received a new product that is defected and should be able to be refunded completely.
