Ivy Garden Learning Center Reviews (1)

Refund was given the following day.    We responded to this after it was posted on our Facebook page by numerous family members of the party Parents the day of the party. Even after our apology and offers of a late start party or full refund, they still complained even hours after they...

decided on a full refund. They offered no suggestions on their own.   There is false information in the complaint filed here.  Party was at 12:30. We try and offer a 15 min. curtesy prep time if able. So they showed up at 12:15 and I called them before 1pm after I happen to look at my phone and see FB notification regarding the party being at the business with doors locked.  I called the party ASAP while simultaneously pulling up their info/notes.  Originally they called mid March but didnt come in to pay for their date we held weeks longer then we normally do until 2 days before the party (although party Mom tried to tell me that she had it booked for weeks). While on the phone, my internet refreshed and showed me the hold was changed 2 days before after deposit was made.  JJ&J took complete blame for the party time mix up. This was our reply after their 1st complaint:
"regarding you party that you place a hold on 3/14th. We hold for 24-48hours. After we let you know 3/30, that we were removing your hold, you paid for it 4/1. Regardless, We have been open since 2007 and wouldn't be still open if this was our standard practice. (30 minutes after your party's start time) The owner called as soon as she read the alert from the Email that was sent. The employee had the time wrong and took full ownership and was still heading in to open the doors for the party if willing or receive a full refund. You decision was made to receive a full refund and play at the park. She made a mistake and was doing the best that she could as well as the owner, to fix it. I didnt read that in your reviews so we want to make sure that that its known that we will bend backwards for guests and if a mistake is made on either end, we do our best to figure it out. Again, sorry for your troubles as the owner expressed when trying to fix the situation."
2nd reply the next day after they posted another complaint:
"[redacted] received the message and the party Parents received a call back ASAP. The employee had the time wrong and she called them also (30 minutes after party was scheduled to start). JJ&J was more than willing to get the party started (late) or full refund. Accidents happen and we will be rethinking ever bending the rules again because of this and all the reviews that this party has been leaving. Its unfortunate but we dont want to have this happen in the future. We have had almost 9 years of hosting parties and we like to pride ourselves on being more "MOM & POP'ish then the larger franchise companies which allows us to cater to the local community by adjusting our prices according to the Partys ability to pay including holding dates until they get paid, giving discounts if paying cash, etc...... We've had many partys over the years coming in on the wrong time and we've only tried to accommodate them and their guests in anyway. We are sorry that WE made the mistake this time and hopefully by not allowing last minute bookings, this won't happen again. Its unfortunate that the same party is leaving multiple reviews when we tried all we could to fix it and that part is not being mentioned."
As the owner & Mother of 2 kids who have had numerous functions at our business, I felt it was overkill with complaints. it was a nice day out and 3 year old do not remember or even know to be disappointed in anything especially when they have other kids around them.  They could have had a free party in our parking lot and kids will have fun!  So when the Grandparents are posting a complaint letting everyone know that it was "horrible" listening to a 3 year old cry about their party being moved to a park....I got to think that theres many others out there thinking the same thing I am. We pride ourselves on accommodating parties all income brackets and bending for anyone we have too for and then one of us misses the mark and we get our name trying to be smeared in the mud.
