Regarding complaint #***We serviced a car that need it a new starter. The gentleman came to our shop months later stating the starter was giving him problemsThe part had a guarantee, so we asked him to
leave the car to be fixedUnfortunately Saturday is one of our busiest days. He stated he couldn't leave the car behind. He wants to be reimburse $dollars We are willing to settle with him for $dollars plus we want the part he replacedIf you have have any questions please feel free to contact me at *** *** *** and ask for ***. To be offered a settlement of 100.00 plus the starter in return is unacceptable. When all is said and done, I am simply asking for the $350.00 that came out of my pocket for a product and service provided by Izalco that did not constitue a repair. Izalco always stated that the starter was not the problem that it was something else which is why I seeked to go to Honda even though he offered for me to return another day talk to the [redacted]. I have the proof from Honda outlining what they found and the starter they changed. I can provide copies to the Revdex.com. If Izalco returns the 350.00, I will give them thier defective starter so they can return it to the parts source and have thier money returned as well. Review: My 2008 Honda Accord was brought to Izalco Auto Repair for diagnostics and repair on July **, 2014. I was informed that the vehicle would not start due to the starter that needed to be changed out. I authorized the replacement of starter. When I left Izalco the vehicle started up normal. That same evening when I started the vehicle it took an unusual amount of time to start up as I had to hold the key in the ignition for 4-5 seconds. The problem was inconsistent and I began to think it was normal. As time passed the vehicle would make a clanking sounds when I started it up. This is when I decided to return to Izalco on November **, 2014 to notify them of the problem I began to have when they changed the original Honda starter for a replacement. I tried to settle the matter that same day but they insisted it was not starter causing this delay in starting the engine. They stood their ground and would not change the starter or return my money. I left their repair shop unsatisfied. On December **, 2014, I went to South Shore Honda where I had the vehicle inspected and they concluded it was a refurbished starter that was no good. I replaced the starter and paid for labor totaling $595.00. The vehicle now starts up like brand new, quickly and with no noises. Izalco installed a bad part and simply did not want to accept responsibility and correct their own doing.Desired Settlement: Want $350.00 returned
