This is a response to the
complaint filed by *** *** We have attempted to reach the
customer on daily basis starting on the 17th of November, once we were
informed
of an issue We have not been able to contact the customer or his mother
*** ***) They have not returned any calls / messages left
The vehicle was originally brought into us for a power steering issue and
water pump leaking We verified the water pump was leaking and informed
the customer the water pump had failed and needed to be replaced before any
other components could be pressure tested This repair was authorized by
*** *** and *** *** We repaired the vehicle and test
drove for approximately miles (standard procedure for our location on cooling
system issues) and performed a pressure check of the system prior to
*** *** picking up the vehicle and found no leaks at that time
After leaving our shop within an hour *** called and said the
temperature gauge was getting hot We arranged to have the vehicle towed
to our shop at NO CHARGE to the customer Upon arrival we discovered the
radiator plastic side tank was now leaking Customer was informed of
issue with vehicle and *** approved the additional repair himself
It is common for plastic parts to fail in the cooling system after the
vehicle has been driving while overheated This can also cause gasket
issues or the cylinder heads to warp which can lead to catastrophic damage to
the engine The customer’s original concern states that they have had to
add coolant on a daily basis to the vehicle and that it was getting hot
We could not verify if the customer added coolant or just water to the
system prior to original repairs, if just water is added to the cooling system
instead of coolant, it can increase the odds of additional components failing
in the cooling system due to less protection of the components We
replaced the radiator and the vehicle was test driven after and pressure tested
with no issues We did not charge the customer for towing or additional
coolant needed to make the repair We had issues with *** ***
checks bouncing from the first repair (have since cleared this issue up) and
still need to collect on the bill for the radiator repairThe total is $
that they still owe for repairs The customer is upset with the
additional repairs required on the vehicle due to driving the vehicle while not
in a safe and operational state (leaking coolant) The bottom line is
they approved all repairs on the vehicle and owe the amount of $for the
second repair

They are not telling the truth or all the FACT'sI told them exactly what was wrong with my car and the noise I was hearingThey diagnosed the car problem and said it was right axle bearing When I ask what the cost was, they said $dollars to replace both LEFT and RIGHT axle bearingsWhen I pressed why both, they said right side "for sure is bad", but they "think possibly they hear some noise from the left side"I only agreed on the right side axle replacement because they agreed to match Firestone pricingRemember, they said "for sure" Right Axle was the source of my problem.. So Yes, I contacted Firestone Service because I considered CB cost of $very high for these parts replacementI wanted to compare to other service shops and see what their cost would be for same repairFirestone Service quoted "same part replacement" at $dollarsWhen I contacted Christian Brothers and informed them, mysteriously they agreed to match Firestone Service pricing. By the way, CB originally quoted $dollars for the single right axle replacement, Firestone Service quoted $dollarsOf course Christian Brothers reduced their price to match Firestone. When I returned next day to inform CB they did not fix the problem, they simply wanted more money to change other parts on my carBased on their already missed diagnosis of the car problem, and fact that they clearly had no intention of refunding my money, I left because of their responseFunny how CB person states I left in a hurry?? That is not truthful, and would be totally irrelevant anywaysWhat an excuse, just to prevent refunding the customer for taking their money and not fixing their service problem. Generally, on my return visit to inform them the problem was not fixed, their message was kind of like wanting to sale you something like tires, even though you really don't need them and it will not fix your original problem you ask them to repairI think this is their "UPSALE" routine.Regardless, my "real problem" is still not the "Left Axle Bearing or Right Axle Bearing" as they are statingEven if they replaced and billed me $dollars for both Axle's, I would still have the same problemPoint is they took my money and did not fix my problem, nor did they diagnose it correctly
