Dear Revdex.com, Complaint ID#: [redacted] filed their protest on 4/22/at 7:10:PMTheir car was given back fixed, with a decent/cheap used motor on 4/23/by mid-day.The overall complaint of the client was their dissatisfaction with the waited time frameThe client had previously stated to us in person that they had a budget of $1000.00, and was in search of the cheapest USED motor, not new as they stated in their written claimWe had given the client an estimated time frame of a week, if everything went according to planUsed motors, depending on the car, usually cost around $600-$If you're lucky, or patient enough to fine a cheaper used motor, they would usually cost around $400-$We bought a used motor, inspected it, and realized that it was not in a decent enough condition to installWe returned it to our provider, and they took it back to their warehouse for a further and more thorough inspectionPlease keep in mind that their deliveries vary anywhere from days to possibly a few weeksIt was definitely a long and time-consuming ordeal, but the time that it took from returning the motor to our provider, having them inspect it, having them find another motor that fits our client's car (and their budget), and having them deliver it again definitely did have to take at least two weeksIf our client hadn't of had a budget of $1000.00, we would have definitely had their car out and running within our given time frame: one weekWe apologized for the entire inconvenience, and in the end the client left happy

I am rejecting this response because: In the first place the owner of the business wanted to sell me a "used" engine for $2,from the same used part place where I found the one I bought for $1, The engine is tested at the distribution center it comes from to see if it is working properly, and if it is then they installed seals stamps on different areas of the engine to guarantee the engines performanceIf the engine was not working properly the engine would not have the seals installed nor sold to the publicThe main issue here is that the owner of the business was upset due to the fact that he was not going to be able to get the amount he wanted to receive in the first place, which was around $1,for the motorWe asked he him to do the job for us even after he mentioned he did not want to because he already removed all the parts, and we were worried that if we took the car to a different location without the engine being installed they might end up loosing partsIn addition we had already given him money in which he was hesitant in returningAt the end he did accept to install the engine, but mentioned he will NOT install anything elseOnce he installed the motor he called me to inform me that car is done and ready to pick up, at which my wife and I arrived and he told us that the car was leaking a lot of oilUpon arrival I called the tow truck to pick up the car at the shop due to the fact that my wife and I were suspicious in the circumstanceOnce the tow truck arrived the owner of the business left suddenly and left a worker on site, but once the tow truck had the vehicle secured they did not allow us to leave unless we signed a document in which I could not read as that I am legally blind and my wife could not read as she cannot read English very wellBesides the signature they asked for a payment of $to let us leaveOnce we arrived home and my son arrived from school we asked him to read the form the owner made us sign in which it mentioned that we where aware of the engine issues before they installed it, which it is a total lieWho in their right mind would want to pay and installed a bad engine to a vehicle that is used for work and personal occasions Attached are photos of the evidence of the damaged done on the engineThe damage is clear and is located in a area if the engine where it cannot be reached by a simple accident Sincerely, [redacted]

Consumer states that the work was done 6-months agoThe company put the wrong part on my piand gave me only part of the money back on 05/14/Why would the business refund me that money on 05/14/if the work was done three years ago like the company states? This business rips people offWhen I left his shop the check engine light came right back onI took my car to another shop and it was the other catalytic converter that was bad not all the work that his shop did that was unnecessaryMy check engine light went off after another shop put on the correct partsI will take my loss and contact the Bureau of Automotive Repair

customer brought vehicle in and he was told that we would have to replace engine after finding an engine for him he decided he wanted to try and save some money
and get an engine on his owncustomer brought in a used engine for us to install in his vehicleprecisely because customer brought in a used engine we recommended he replaced gaskets& seals, as well as the water pump and customer declined any further workat customers request we only removed and replaced engineafter installing the used engine provided and cranking it we noticed that there was an oil leak at which time we informed the customer, unfortunately because the engine was used and had original seals this was a possibility that the customer had already been made aware ofhad all the seals been replaced at time of installation this would have not happenedonly way to see if the used engine had any leaks or any other problems was to install and crank, so because of this we were unable to for see or detect any defects in used engine

It is a bit hard and confusing to follow what the customers' original complaint isHe is beginning to state things that weren't stated before and has gotten quite off the subjectUpon arrival of the vehicle, customer stated that he wanted us to replace the engine, so at customers request we began looking for an engineCustomer decided on providing us with a used engine of his choice and prior to installing we asked and recommended he replace all seals and gaskets to which he declined stating that the engine he provided was in great conditionAlthough engine might have been tested, it does not take from the fact that it is a used engineHad it been a new or rebuilt engine then valve cover, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, oil pan and transmission pan gaskets as well as front and rear main seals would have been new or replaced prior to selling engine to consumerSince engine provided was used with thousands of miles already put on it, there is no way of guaranteeing that gaskets or seals were ever replacedAt this point I believe costumer should take his complaint to distribution center where used engine was originally purchased

In the first place the owner of the business wanted to sell me a "used" engine for $2,000.00 from the same used part place where I found the one I bought for $1,300.00.  The engine is tested at the distribution center it comes from to see if it is working properly, and if it is then they installed seals stamps on different areas of the engine to guarantee the engines performance. If the engine was not working properly the engine would not have the seals installed nor sold to the public. The main issue here is that the owner of the business was upset due to the fact that he was not going to be able to get the amount he wanted to receive in the first place, which was around $1,900.00 for the motor. We asked he him to do the job for us even after he mentioned he did not want to because he already removed all the parts, and we were worried that if we took the car to a different location without the engine being installed they might end up loosing parts. In addition we had already given him money in which he was hesitant in returning. At the end he did accept to install the engine, but mentioned he will NOT install anything else. Once he installed the motor he called me to inform me that car is done and ready to pick up, at which my wife and I arrived and he told us that the car was leaking a lot of oil. Upon arrival I called the tow truck to pick up the car at the shop due to the fact that my wife and I were suspicious in the circumstance. Once the tow truck arrived the owner of the business left suddenly and left a worker on site, but once the tow truck had the vehicle secured they did not allow us to leave unless we signed a document in which I could not read as that I am legally blind and my wife could not read as she cannot read English very well. Besides the signature they asked for a payment of $520.00 to let us leave. Once we arrived home and my son arrived from school we asked him to read the form the owner made us sign in which it mentioned that we where aware of the engine issues before they installed it, which it is a total lie. Who in their right mind would want to pay and installed a bad engine to a vehicle that is used for work and personal occasions.

Attached are photos of the evidence of the damaged done on the engine. The damage is clear and is located in a area if the engine where it cannot be reached by a simple accident.
Sincerely,

We had given the client an estimated time frame of a week, if everything went according to plan. Used motors, depending on the car, usually cost around $600-$800. If you're lucky, or patient enough to fine a cheaper used motor, they would usually cost around $400-$500. We bought a used motor, inspected it, and realized that it was not in a decent enough condition to install. We returned it to our provider, and they took it back to their warehouse for a further and more thorough inspection. Please keep in mind that their deliveries vary anywhere from 2 days to possibly a few weeks. NO OBLIGATION TO GIVE A REFUND AFTER SUCH A LONG PERIOD. WE GAVE HIM A CHECK OF $184.00 ON 05/14/14 TO SIMPLY KEEP HIM AS A SATISFIED CUSTOMER. WE LATER FOUND OUT FROM OUR BANK THAT SOMEONE WAS FORGING OUR COMPANY CHECKS FOR MORE THAN $500.00. WE HARDLY EVER WRITE CHECKS FOR INDIVIDUALS; WE ONLY WRITE CHECKS FOR CAR DEALERS, BILLS, AND PART STORES. LONG STORY SHORT, THE CLAIMANT FORGED CHECKS AFTER RECEIVING HIS DESIRED REFUND. WE WENT THROUGH THE HASSLE OF CANCELING AND ORDERING ALL OF OUR CHECKBOOKS, AND STILL ENDED UP GIVING HIM A MONEY ORDER FOR $184.00. THE CLAIMANT IS IN SEARCH OF EASY MONEY AND A CROOK. INDIVIDUALS LIKE HIM MAKE IT DIFFICULT FOR INDEPENDENT COMPANIES TO SURVIVE IN CORPORATE-FILLED WORLD--NO ONE NEEDS CUSTOMERS LIKE HIM.

Review: Hello Revdex.com, so the story is that I bought a car and a month later the motor started messing uo so I decided to get a new one. So my moms friend tells us about this shop here close to where I live. So I said okay sure ill get that place a shot, I get there and everyone seemed friendly and I told my self okay this place doesn't seem so bad. They told me I can leave the car there and that they'll get the new motor and install it all in a week so I said alright. They asked for a $400 down payment and I payed them on the spot. so I give them a call 2 days later and he said everything's looking good that itll be done soon so I siad awesome! next thing you know I call 2 days leter and they weren't answering, I call the next day and the same thing happens. I show up to the shop the same day and I see the same motor that was in my car still laying there and they tell me that the motor they bought was messed up so they have to order a new one. its a month later and still nothing. It is so hard to get to work and to do the everyday thing. I always have to be paying someone money to take me places. I cant afford this and really want my car and money back. I need help, if you guys can do something about it I would highly appreciate it!Desired Settlement: I would like the get the $400 down payment that I put for the new motor, and my car back. If possible I would also like the money I have spent giving people for rides to work ect. but thats only if possible..

Review: My car overheated while my wife was going to work due to not properly closing the radiator cap. Due to this I had to take it repair shop named J&J Discount Tires located in Turlock, CA in a tow truck. Two days later I received a call from them stating that the engine head was bad, and not repairable. He then recommended in looking to purchase another engine with low mileage, at which I agreed with him. He eventually found an engine with low mileage for $1,600.00 at which I gave him $1,00.00 cash. The following phone call he gave me was to inform me that the engine has arrive, but that the driver dropped the new engine and cracked, at which I told him I did not want that engine anymore. After that incident he called me again to inform me that he found another engine for $1,900.00, at which I told him that I would have to talk to my wife and ended up decided to look for an engine else where. The following day I gave them a call to let them know that we decided to look for a cheaper engine, at which we did find another engine for $1,300.00. The following Monday I gave them a call to inform them that I was going to drop off the new engine I found, at which we did drop it off at the shop. The engine was in perfect condition after inspection of my wife and older son. So, it was a surprise when the shop gave me a call to inform me that they have installed the engine, but for some reason the engine was leaking. I became suspicious after this incident, at which I called them to inform them that I was going to pick up my car in a tow truck. I then took the car to another repair shop in Stockton, at which they found that someone has damaged the rear main seal of the engine. This is clearly done by them, as that this is a part of the engine that cannot be easily damaged.Desired Settlement: The action that I would consider fair in this case would be for the company to return the full payment made to them to do the job. In addition I want the company to pay for the full cost of the repairs needed on the motor, and leave the car back in working condition.

He told the best bet is to replace my engine. so I did, 3 week has pass and he finish my car which I paid the money up front.
