J & R Kirsch Enterprises, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: In 2011, J&R Enterprises Inc., t/a "The Dent Guy," obtained from its supplier(s) & installed new catalytic converters in my [redacted]. All work was paid for in full at the time of service. The work included a written lifetime warranty on the catalytic converters. Appropriate maintenance of the catalytic system was maintained by me thereafter, including timely replacement of oxygen sensors when indicated. When the converters failed in early 2014, The Dent Guy refused to honor the warranty & reportedly expects me to cover all costs involved. Good faith efforts to resolve the matter (both by phone & certified letter; copies of all communication maintained by me) have received no response within the reasonable time frame outlined. Prior to refusing to make good on the warranty, workers at the The Dent Guy examined my car & alleged that "ethanol in gas" caused the converters to "melt" & The Dent Guy's supplier(s) refuse to honor the warranty because the manufacturer refuses same. It is my position that since I was in no way responsible for selecting or purchasing the lifetime warrantied catalytic converter system, it is not my responsibility if the parts obtained/installed by The Dent Guy were perhaps defective &/or unsuitable &/or improperly installed. Further, prior & subsequent to the 2011 work, ethanol has been a component in all available pumped gas. Thus, the lifetime warrantied catalytic converters installed needed to be fully compatible with/accommodate that reality. While it may be unfortunate that The Dent Guy's supplier(s) &/or the manufacturer may be resistant, the warranty should be fully honored & The Dent Guy needs to then resolve the alleged warranty issue directly with its supplier(s) &/or the manufacturer.Desired Settlement: The Dent Guy should fully honor the warranty, including covering the full cost of competently replacing the failed catalytic converters, using appropriate, non-defective, fully compatible parts that also include a fully viable lifetime warranty. Alternately, a cash settlement to fully cover the cost of all necessary parts & labor for same, to be completed at a hopefully more responsive & reliable auto repair facility. Also, reimbursement for my personal expenses related to this complaint.
