inspection occurred the check engine light came on and again J and A Auto Center told the customer to take it to the garage that did the inspection to have them repair the issueAfter spending over on the repair, the vehicle still has not passed inspectionAt which point J and A Auto Center offered to refund the customers there money back contingent that they no longer drive the vehicle and leave it at the inspection station; Customers refused and have continued to refuse to return the vehicle since they are still driving which may result in more damage depreciating its potential value. for further questions please contact *** ** ***, owner of J and A Auto Center***Thank you*** ***

Regards,
[redacted]

[redacted] visited us on the night of 10/16/2017 to test drive our 2006 [redacted] with 250,000 miles on it. He test drove the vehicle, enjoyed his drive, but commented on a leak that seemed to be coming into the cabin. Looking at the roof he could see a small patch of rust developing in the corner...

where it met the windshield and assumed it was leaking from the corner of the roof into the cabin. We had the vehicle listed for $6,995, but we eventually settled on a price $350 less than what we were asking for because he had concerns about the roof. The windshield was cracked, but I assured him it would be replaced before the car was released, as per state inspection and general safety standards. [redacted] then put a $500 deposit down on the vehicle, contingent that we repair the roof and windshield, as well as pull the carpet to check for any damage that water leaking into the cabin may have caused. This is all plainly written on the bill of sale attached, which he signed. There was no promise that if the repairs were not to his liking, we would refund his deposit. Before the windshield was removed, we decided to check the roof and see if the water was in fact leaking into the cabin from that spot. We sprayed the corner of the roof where it met the windshield with water for 20 minutes and not a drop of water leaked into the cabin. We decided to go along with the body work in an effort to please the customer. It came time to replace the windshield, and once the windshield was pulled it was sent to the body shop for repairs. After the glass was pulled, I asked the technician what the best course of action is and his suggestion was that the pinch well be sanded and primed, “if you want to do it the right way” he said. I asked If bondo was necessary and he said it was not necessary but it would help provide a smoother surface to mount the glass onto. This is a reputable company that would never install a windshield before priming the pinch well, reason being it is impossible for the windshield to stick to anything but that primed material (whether it be bondo or metal). I confirmed today with the company that the bondo IN NO WAY affects the structural integrity of the roof or the windshield. The bondo was applied in order to have a smooth surface to adhere the new glass to. Pictures were sent to the customer before and after the bondo was applied. The pictures before the bondo was applied show areas of rust along the channel but show absolutely no severe rot or holes whatsoever in the pinch well as the customer claims.  Lastly, the customer’s claim that it is illegal to sell this vehicle is false. The customer rescinded the deal because he believed the work that was done made this vehicle a safety risk, but every professional I have asked says otherwise. The assertion that there is any law preventing the use of bondo when replacing a windshield is absurd and the accusation that the car would never pass state inspection due to “roll-over safety risk” is also patently false. We even offered a lifetime warranty that 100% guarantees the roof will not leak for as long as he owns the vehicle. It is clear and in writing that we were obligated to replace the windshield and perform the repairs on the roof at our cost, we cannot predict that a customer would have such impossible demands based on bizarre assumptions that professionals in the field of body work and auto glass have told me are profoundly untrue. The roof has been repaired to our high standards and at our cost, we reduced the price of the vehicle $350, and provided the customer with ample proof that the work was done professionally, and for these reasons we will not refund this customer’s deposit and will absolutely not reimburse him triple damages as requested.

J and A Auto Center apologizes for the miscommunication regarding [redacted]'s deposit on a [redacted] was aware that the deposit is not refundable unless otherwise noted. In this case, we did state that the deposit would be refundable at the time. However, days after making the deposit,...

[redacted] notified us that he DEFINITELY wanted the vehicle, no questions asked, and that he wanted us to start servicing the vehicle per [redacted]'s request as part of the final sale. After servicing the vehicle, because [redacted] said he definitely wanted the vehicle, [redacted] came in to the office and demanded his deposit back, after all services were already done. In this case, since he told us he was absolutely sure and we had already finished servicing, the deposit is not refundable now. The owner, [redacted], has already mailed in a photo of the text messages between [redacted] and [redacted], showing [redacted] asking if the service has been done yet and that he is coming to pick up the car. At this time, we are still not willing to refund the deposit.Thank you, [redacted]Office Manager-- J and A Auto Center 211 BroadwayRaynham, MA 02767www.jandaautocenters.comT:###-###-####F:###-###-####

response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted]..

Regards,
[redacted] I reject their comments because they did not fix my car properly, [redacted] told me there is a remote started in my car which lets me know they never went over my car considering the fact they never gave me the remote to it. I brung my car to them several times to them first it was the battery then two days later engine light returned on, gave it to them again then they said it was the thermostat. Later the car started over heating again then they said it was the sensor. So they sent it to warren auto repair which is not j&A to be repaired called back two weeks later car started overheating again then they claimed the bolt was loose that's why it started over heating. After a week later it said coolant level low took it to get Anti freeze after car started over heating again. So I then took it to [redacted] they reviewed the car which it turned out to be the thermostat was never repaired. Which J&A contract claims to have it fixed by them with the warrrenty which I did several occasions and it was not repaired properly. Which I feel they need to reimburse me since I have several witnesses towards these complaints, the people who took me to go and get it fixed all these times. Whilst J&A never even paid for a tow. Should have know it was something sketchy about this place when I had to pay to register my car that I have a loan for.
