Mr [redacted] originally dropped his Motorcycle off April 19, signing a work release and was told the Handlebar installation would be completed within to daysWhen that deadline was not met, he then became very upset due to the fact that the motorcycle was his only mode of transportationI brought to his attention that the bike was not dropped off on the intended date that he requested, which was April 18, 2017, as well as the keys not being present when the motorcycle was dropped off, resulting in an additional day that we could not work on the installationI am adding this information because, it is the majority of the reason he was angry and then felt the need to file this complaintIt was never our intention to exceed the finish date but, unfortunately due to the extent of the job and existing work load we had to prolong the pickup date Regarding the incident reportedMr [redacted] returned the following morning April 25, after picking up the motorcycle on April 24, 2017, stating that in route to work that morning, he hit a large pothole which caused the handlebars to moveIt is out of our control what the customer may encounter out on the road after the fact and more importantly, the customer excepting the responsibility and awareness off modifying and customizing their stock motorcycleThe handlebars Mr [redacted] chose to have installed on his stock motorcycle were larger in diameter and taller in over all heightThese two combined effect the leverage and pressure that is applied to the still stock clamping area resulting, in some cases, the handlebars to shift forward and or backwardWe immediately took Mr [redacted] 's bike in and thoroughly checked the torque specs on his handlebarsWe torqued them to max specification and have not had a problem senseI would also like to add that we treated Mr [redacted] with the utmost respect and patience during as well as after this reported incidentAccepting that things do happen on the road after work performed at our shop, it is our priority to make sure incidents like this are remedied immediately, whether we are directly or indirectly responsible or not
