I suffer from ptsd and dealing with J and P painting has made my anxiety through the roof! They are contracted to paint my home, replace two ceilings, cover another ceiling and they are also suppose to fix a closet in my daughters room and they have purchased the flooring for my room. I have asked them on more than one occasion for proof of purchases. They have been slacking majorly on this job. Not showing up and always having excuses as to why they can not come and finish the work they are contracted to do. The partial owner Mark A Thomas Sr. insisted that I pay them upfront to buy supplies needed to fix home. He claims he asked for the money as an assurance that I will not back out of contract but if that was the case you ask for 10% down. They have started in other rooms without completing other rooms and they both have been very very rude and disrespectful to me. The topper is I just had confirmation that they do not have a legally binding contractors license. Before I asked them to start on my house I asked to see verification of that and “***” showed me some papers that they had just had notarized that day. They have scammed a disable woman and they are scammers!
She was supposed to be out of the house for 7 full days. We were going to rip out all the ceilings at once, apply the mud to one ceiling and while we were waiting on that to dry, move to the next room, etc.Because she was there all day, we had to seal off a room and complete it before moving to the next room. Clean up the dust every day and prep for next day.At the end of two months, we had completed only 5 rooms. Because she would not vacate the house we were unable to complete within the 15-20 day time-frame.We are unable to complete any more of the work because we have already went above and beyond.

Hello! The complaint against J and P is NOT resolved. They lied and half told the truth in their response to the complaint. I asked them if it would be absolutely necessary for me to get a hotel room and they said no! They said furniture can be moved and they can work around us. Plus the majority of time I was not there and my kids was at school! They got the 2 ceilings done in two days so why would I get a hotel room. Plus I only was gonna get a hotel room if they was gonna leave the rooms without a ceiling and just covered when they told me the ceilings would be completed in 1 day I decided a hotel room would be pointless. I also told them on numerous occasions that it was Christmas time and I am a single mother with a single income and therefore I could not afford a room for a week! Plus it would of been hard to get a room cause the majority of the time they was not showing up and when they would come they would only work 2 - 3 hours and they would leave and yes I have neighbors who was looking out on my house who can and will contest to that. They both are crooked criminals and have shady passes but I gave them a chance cause Mr. Thomas is my kids grandfather and I was trying to help him out. Main facts....they did not complete the work I paid them to do, they never provided receipts to prove any purchase and they did a horrible sloppy job and broke items in my home that I was not reimbursed for. So no this is FAR from being resolved! Please continue with complaint and yes I wanna see their poor business put online! Thank you mam! I really hope you all can help! Have a great day.Thank you
