I called JB Irrigation & Services and spoke to [redacted]. I asked his company to come to my home on Apr. 16th, 2013 to see what was wrong with my sprinkler system and control panel. [redacted] and I settled on a price of $105 for an hour's work. Two Mexicans arrived at 8:30 a.m. I met them in the driveway, told them my sprinkler system wouldn't work. I could tell from that exchange, the one lead guy had very limited English. I showed him the sprinkler control box in the garage and stood behind the two the entire time. They fiddled with the buttons for about 5 minutes and finally decided to go to the truck to get their testing equipment. One guy went to the truck while the other guy stared at our pond in the back yard. That took another 5 minutes. They poked around with the testing equipment. They looked for the breaker box and located it around the corner of the garage, poked around in it for another 5 minutes. They then asked for other breaker locations. I took them in the house and showed them the breakers in the house. They couldn't read the labels placed on the breaker switches. They poked around in there and went back to the garage. Then they told me I didn't have any power to the sprinkler control box and I would have to call an electrician. They never could locate the right breaker. They rigged up an extension cord to the box so I could use it temporarily. They told me I needed a new sprinkler control box to the tune of $325 plus the $105 for the service call. By then, it was 9 a.m. They had been there 30 minutes. Only one guy spoke limited English the whole time. The other guy spoke only in Spanish and was telling the guy who spoke limited English what to do. Even as a novice, I could tell they didn't know what they were doing. I paid them for half an hour ($52.50) and told them to leave. Soon after they left, I tripped the GFI button and the electricity was working fine. It was apparent these two guys are not licensed and are not legitimate citizens of this country
