Revdex.com spoke with the owner of the business who said that he and the customer agreed upon the scope of work and there was a contract for this work which stated that he was to paint the inside walls of the house and the siding on the outside. He stated that the customer made it clear from the...

beginning that she would not sign over the title to the truck (the agreed upon payment) until the work was completed and she was satisfied with the work. He stated that once the work was completed, he asked the customer to inspect it and confirm the work was complete to her satisfaction. She confirmed that it was, and signed over the vehicle. He stated that she then called to ask for other work to be done and other touch ups, such as the doors and her gutters. James said that he came out multiple other times to complete work that she requested which was not in the work that was originally agreed upon. He did agree to have the front and back doors done for her, and sent someone else he was paying to do that work. He said that he then received a call that the customer had called the police and had that person arrested. James said that the vehicle they agreed upon to serve as payment blew up 2 weeks later and is no longer operating. He stated that furthermore, he paid for all of the supplies for this job, and the customer did not pay for materials or make any payment other than signing over the vehicle which was agreed upon. He stated he has invested over $1400 in materials and has completed the work that the customer initially requested when the scope of work was agreed upon in the contract, and additional work that was not.
