I have spoken to [redacted] on multiple occasions. She owes the money. She knows she owes the money. I have answered all of her questions multiple time. She owed back rent, didn't turn her keys in, didn't pay a water bill, and the apartment was left very dirty. We had to replace the drip pans,...

deep clean the carpet and paint over her child's drawings on the walls. I did mail her copies of the information, she did not leave a forwarding address so I mailed it to her old address on file. It never came back, it included all the invoices. After 2 years of not getting payment from her, I had to turn it over to collections. I know she has contacted them a few times trying to dispute it. As far as her indicating Illinois State Law states that security deposits are intended to cover damages to the premises beyond normal wear and tear, she is incorrect. IL law states "765 ILCS 715/1) (from Ch. 80, par. 121)     Sec. 1. A lessor of residential real property, containing 25 or more units in either a single building or a complex of buildings located on contiguous parcels of real property, who receives a security deposit from a lessee to secure the payment of rent or compensation for damage to property shall pay interest to the lessee computed from the date of the deposit at a rate equal to the interest paid by the largest commercial bank, as measured by total assets, having its main banking premises in this State on minimum deposit passbook savings accounts as of December 31 of the calendar year immediately preceding the inception of the rental agreement on any deposit held by the lessor for more than 6 months. (Source: P.A. 87-386; 88-449.)" She lived in an 8 unit building. I have also spoken to  her about this multiple times. She does owe the money, it is valid, and she will need to contact the collection company for her concerns.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:This is absolutely untrue.  There carpet was in no way "very dirty", nor was there ever drawing on the walls. I walked the apartment with her prior to my departure of the place and there was no complaints aside from the room and restroom of the other tenant who abandoned it. I showed [redacted] immediately and she told me not to worry her men would take care of it. The remainder of the house was clean. You can see proof of this on the invoice. It notated blind dusting, light bulb changing and routine cleaning. All In all, we put down a collective deposit well over what she claims as damages and there should be no balance.  If she claims damages that should  be divided amongst all tenants and not just me. I would like pictures of her claims, as they are untrue.  My security deposit covers my charges of missed rent, lost key and what would be my alleged share in "damages".
Sincerely,
[redacted]
