To Whom It May Concern:This email is in response to complaint #*** from *** ***.Agent *** *** took out applications with *** *** *** Insurance Company on Mr*** & *** *** on May 23rdThe applications were turned into our office on the same day for
processing.Soon after taking out the applications, the clients decided to cancel the programUpon calling into the company, we discovered that *** ***’s policy had already been issued, and her bank account was drafted upon issue, May 31stWe were able to cancel *** ***’s policy in time before it was issued, so his was never drafted.The agent, *** ***, instructed the clients that a letter with their signatures would be necessary for a full cancellation with refundThe agent picked up the letter on May 30th and it was faxed to *** *** *** on May 31st at 9:am.Please note, the applications that went into the company did in fact state to please draft their bank accounts on the 15th of each monthWe are not sure why *** *** *** drafted her account on May 31st, instead of June 15th.When we called *** *** ***, they stated that they DID receive the cancellation letter on May 31st, but were still in the process of cancelling the policy, and that is why it drafted again on June 15th.After speaking to a representative in Underwriting at GTL on July 11th, she informed us that the policies were now cancelled and they received a copy of Mr***’s bank statement showing the two draftsThey are expediting a refund check for the two drafts on Ms***’s policyShe could not give us an answer as to why the premium was drafted on both May 31st and June 15th.We have since called Mr*** and spoke with him about the issue with *** *** ***He also informed us that GTL told him they were expediting his refund and he should have it in daysYesterday, July 13th, we received a phone call from GTL stating they mailed out the refund check directly to Mr***.Along with this email, I have attached a copy of Ms***’s bank authorization form showing the agent did request a draft date of the 15th of each monthI have blocked out any personal information for Ms***I also attached copies of their cancellation letters, along with the fax confirmation showing when they were sent into the company.If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to let me know.Thank you,*** ***

J. Berg & Associates has been in business since 1952. We strive to provide the best service to our community and as of today,...

I do not recall anybody ever stating that we might be crooked.
We get names and leads from various sources and when someone requests not to be called, we make a strong effort to remove their name from any of our calling lists.
Unfortunately, sometimes there could be errors, but they are few and far between. As of the date this was received, we have removed [redacted] from all of our calling lists. However, this does not prevent her from sending something in on our advertisements, if she does, she will probably get another phone call. We are insurance brokers and we work with dozens of insurance carriers, there is a chance her name will be passed onto us again.
And last, but not least, sometimes prospects may get confused because we are not the only office calling on Medicare recipients.

Senior Citizen's Advisory Service Agency, a division of J. Berg & Associates, is an insurance agency located in St. Louis since 1952.  Our primary business is calling on seniors to help with the Medicare insurance needs.  We tried to locate the representative that called [redacted]...

[redacted], however we were unsuccessful.  We are not at all deceptive about the fact we sell insurance, so it is difficult for me to determine what happened on the phone call.  We are taking [redacted]'s name and phone numbers she provided off of our list, however we deal with many insurance companies and if she ever requests information on Medicare products, there is a good chance one of our representatives will be calling her again.If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.Thank you,J.
