J C Carpet Cleaning

JC Carpet Cleaning was the cleaner hired by [redacted] to clean the carpets after my husband and I moved out. They made a bogus claim that there was a heavy odor in the apartment and charged $100 for the use of an odor machine. I have spoken with other cleaners and carpet cleaners in the area who have told me that there is usually no reason to do a deodorizing treatment where there are no dogs or smokers and there have not been any other household accidents like fire. My husband and I did not smoke, did not have pets, did not cook ethnic/fragrant food, and did not have any household accidents like a fire. Without any of these issues a deodorizing treatment is unwarranted. One cleaner told me that charging $100 for the use of a typically $300 machine for what was probably no more than an hour seems ridiculous. Another cleaner told me that they only charge $75 for their specialty pet treatment where there is a legitimate odor and an actual pet. We didn't have pets or do anything else that would warrant deodorizing and so should not have been charged for such a specialty treatment. JC Carpet Cleaning should not be able to get away making bogus claims and overcharging for their treatment.
