J C Homebuilders Reviews (1)
Review: On June 12 2014, I [redacted] signed a contract to purchase a new home on [redacted] Tx. [redacted] County.
Things were going well, until the Home Builder began to take short cuts and began installing interior doors. We uncovered (8) interior doors opening were not built to specifications where contractor had to go back and cut some of door header approximately 3" to 4" inches. Leaving us with either 2x2 or 2x3 and this is not the way these header are design. This is a very big concern of mined cause down the road these door opening are going to become weak points in this home structure. Mr. [redacted] (Home Builder) assured myself ([redacted]) that he was going to take care of this matter and never did. On the other hand Mr. *. [redacted], would say things like walls are not load bearing walls, but again these interior walls were not built correct and to specifications. He indicated that he has spoken with C.C. City Inspector and Wind Storm Engineering but did not explain himself correctly left important detail out. When I spoke with City Inspector and pointed out that meld straps had been saw though and showed pictures, he indicated that he would have to excuse himself from this and that would become a Wind Storm Issue. Contacted Wind Storm and spoke with ([redacted]) Wind Storm Engineer with Voss Engineering in C.C. Texas. Discuss situation and his recommendation, schedule an appointment for this home to be carefully inspected and recertified, I strongly believe that has not happen.Desired Settlement: an apology .....plain and simple.
