complete failure of bracing system on a installed granite countertop
Sept 28 2018 an install job was performed by J&C Stone Cutters for a granite countertop. They supplied a bracing system so the counter would"float" and not need legs under it which we thought it needed. They said these braces would WORK and we did not need legs. They installed (we had supplied the granite) it and now on Aug 30 2019 the braces failed and the counter is now sitting on 4 barstools . We cannot take off the counter as it is half glued onto these braces. the rest of the counter is glued to our island and will be destoyed if we try to lift it off . The company said they would fix (we have the legs to put under it ) the edge is chipped and will not have a smooth surface anymore ,my barstools are ruined as the counter has been sitting on them for 3 months. Numerous texts and messages have been left they promised to come out about three weeks ago and I have not heard from them since. No other counter place will look at someone elses problem so now I have a useless island that also serves as my kitchen table. When ths happened my grandchildren were sitting at the counter and narrowly escaped injury. we have never stood on it ,placed excessive heavy items on this . I am not sure how I can fix this besides taking a sledgehammer to it and losing my counter ,island and thousands of dollars.
That another company be hired to fix this problem as I do not trust this company to follow through . And J& C Stone Cutters pay for this fix
The customers complaint twists all the facts. The job was completed November 12th as mentioned. People should not buy there own "pieces" of stone. An island of this size should be one piece. These are the things that happen trying to save money. The customer recieved a 5 star quality kitchen with 1 star stone at a fraction of what it should cost by a fantastic fabrication shop.

the counter has been fixed as far as I knew they had learned of the complaint from Revdex.com . They were the ones that said the first install would work on the thicker than normal counter that they have no idea what we paid . we bought it because it worked so well in our kitchen .We had no idea their work would fail because the stone didn't come from them I asked if they could install even though we didn't buy it from them . The case is closed we can now use our kitchen again
