6/30/16 In regards to Customer Service Complaint, I did mulching for the client previously in 2014 and they were happy with the work. Based on that pricing I had a verbal agreement over the phone with the clients son in March 2016, which went as follows: $520.00 for mulching.(6 yards of mulch for...

about $220 and $300 for labor). Pre-emergent weed control was never discussed. No other cleanup work was discussed besides cutting back grasses. Clients son agreed to have me, "come out and do what needed to be done".I arrived at the clients residence on 3/30/16 to find all small trees and shrubs in the flower beds had been trimmed with large amounts of the debris Scattered throughout the property and generous amounts of weeds were present. I proceeded to clean up all debris, edge beds, cutback grasses and weed. The entire process took 4 hours equaling $200.00 plus an additional $20.00 to dump the debris. Then I proceeded with the mulching and was unable to finish that day due to the additional work.Other clients were scheduled, so I came back as soon as I could and finished the job. -The client contacted me by telephone at a later date and complained about the edging. I returned to her residence and noticed an area that needed correction at the front lamp post bed. I re-edged that area. I did not note any other bad edging. The client contacted me again at a later date by text message and complained about the edging around the two front trees and emerging weeds. I explained that I edged the best I could around the trees due to the roots. I offered to return to spray weeds as a courtesy, and that we never discussed putting down pre-emergent. She then demanded that I return again by a specified date and take care of the weeds and re do all edging and threatened that there would be consequences. I explained that I was booked Solid and would return as soon as I could to spray the weeds and work on some of the edging again. The client proceeded to contact me again two days later by text message and said she wanted me to pull all weeds, put down pre-emergent and re-edge. She demanded I show up by another specified time. I proceeded to defend my work and I explained that I am extremely busy and offer to send her $100, and the client declined the offer, therefore, I increased the offer to $125 and explained that it would cover 2 hours with another company or all day with a neighborhood kid. That way we would both be satisfied. She declined and got aggressive demanding I come immediately so I decided to cut off contact. The price of $742.60 was a fair price for this project. 4 hrs. cleanup/cut back grasses/edging $200.00Dump debris $20.00 6 yards mulch $210.00 6% pa sales tax on mulch $12.60 Mulching $300The offer of re-compensation for $125 still stands. Any further action beyond that is not warranted. The project has been completed at a fair price and any additional work would have been out of courtesy.Thank you.

From: [redacted]<[redacted].net>Date: Fri, Jul 22, 2016 at 11:09 AMSubject: Complaint #[redacted] RebuttalTo: [redacted]@myRevdex.com.org[redacted] My rebuttal is as follows:Attached find string of texts between Josh Miller, owner/operator of J. D. Miller Landscaping. Also attached are a few pictures taken a couple days after he "finished the job".  (The last picture was taken two weeks after he finished the job). The job he did was definitely not a "good job"! He wants to give me $125 back and have some neighborhood kid do it for me. Originally I wanted him to come back and fix the job. We are way past that. I have had a neighborhood kid do some of the work for me, however, he has not touched any of the edging. Since he wants me to have a neighborhood kid fix his job, obviously he doesn't think he did a professional job either. You hear all the stories about people taking advantage of the elderly but you never think it's going to happen to you. It will probably take a professional the better part of a day to redo all of the edging. Thank you for listening to my story and I hope that because I have decided to pursue this situation that maybe a few other elderly people will be spared. Thank You. Sincerely,[redacted]Gilbertsville, PA [redacted]###-###-####[redacted].netVia Messenger:April 15, 2016, 4:09pm - [redacted]Josh, I was able to get outside today I'm not a happy camper. I won't ask you to come back again since you told me the other day that you felt all the other gardens were just fine. They are far from fine! Unfortunately your fine and my fine are worlds apart! The gardens along the house are ridiculously crooked! If you had done an excellent job I might have complained abt $200 more than you quoted but would next time have gotten a written quote. However, there will not be a next time! And I will not recommend you to anyone! Over the years our family has been in business for ourselves and granted you don't always please everyone. However, when someone complains we ALWAYS fixed things the way they should be fixed! I complained abt all the gardens, not just the lamppost. Anyway, it is what it is![redacted]All the rest of communication via text:April 22,2016, 6:22pm [redacted]Josh, I thought I had put this incident behind me. NOT! Every time I go outside for a walk and look at these gardens my blood pressure goes up to 500 and the more upset I get about the job you've done and how much you charged us! Before I go into the edging crap I would like to know what pre-emergent you used before putting down the mulch? The amount of weeds that are coming up is insane! It hasn't even rained. Now, this edging! I've decided that it is not acceptable. I've taken pictures and if you are happy with the job you've done and won't come back and FIX ALL THE EDGING PROPERLY (INCLUDING AROUND THE TREES BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO HEAR THAT YOU CANT MAKE A CIRCLE AROUND THE TREES) AND DO SOMETHING WITH ALL THESE WEEDS, I WILL POST PICTURES ON SOCIAL MEDIA! AND I will post on YELP AS WELL. So, like I said, if you are happy with the job you've done I will post a not good review! Also, if you do come back and do a proper job, I will then post what a good job you've done. April 22,2016, 6:51pm - MillerI don't understand why you are so upset, and I am sorry you feel that way. Putting down pre emergent was not ever discussed or in the price. You were charged a fair price for the time and was there, standard landscaping rate in this area is  50/hr./per yard mulch.  I did take time to do the edging properly, I don't know if it filled in because of rain or wind or it was too shallow but I will come back and do it all by hand. I will say again unless  you want to cut through your tree roots and kill your trees you can't edge it like you want unless you make it much wider. I will come back to re-edge  by hand and spray the weeds with round up. Please do not damage my reputation.April 22, 2016, 7:04pm - [redacted]I don't want to damage your reputation. I just want a job done properly and for what you charged it should be PERFECT! Also there is no reason why you are insisting that the roots are a problem around the trees. You need to make a slight trough around the edging and and then just go around the roots. And I've never heard of spreading mulch without putting pre-emergent down first. Edging is not affected where there are new roots and the roots don't go completely around the circle around the trees. And, we didn't have any rain that I know of. Anyway I'm not arguing any more. If you come back and DO THE JOB PROPERLY, I will praise you on social media. April 24,2016, 4:38pm - [redacted]Josh, I do not want the weeds sprayed with Round Up. You need to pull the weeds with roots and spread [redacted] all over the mulch. But you can't get any on leaves. And when you are finished spreading the [redacted] and you are all finished edging it needs to be watered down unless it's going to rain. The [redacted] should have been put under the mulch. I appreciate you coming back to do the job right and you are going to need a lot of [redacted] so I will pay for that.  May 16, 2016, 1:54pm - [redacted]When will you be here to finish this job?May 17, 2016, 11am - [redacted]So, I'm assuming your silence means that you have decided not to honor our agreement to fix the things you did at my house? I don't think that's a smart move. You begged me not to ruin your reputation when I asked you to fix things. I am an old lady that is handicapped and can't do things myself and you said that you would return to correct things that you needed to correct. I do have pictures and they are definitely not good advertisement for you. You asked me not to post them and ruin your reputation so obviously you agreed that the job was not good. We discussed that you would return and correct the gardens (weeding, pre-emergent, and professional edging). I even offered to pay for the pre-emergent, Preen. In my day, you always corrected something that wasn't right with a job you had done! And you and I both know that what you did here at my property and the amt you charged was downright robbery! You obviously know in your heart and in your head that you need to fix this situation! So, the ball is in your court! You decide?!11:53amPs     If it is not completed by this Friday, May 20, 2016, I will take action. May 17, 2016, 12:26pm - MillerI am sorry that you feel this way but it was not robbery, I did alot of work there! I have not ignored you, I have just been extremely busy. I feel you are being a bit rude to me when I've already agreed to come back on my own time. I did a large amount of cleanup with your son's debris as well as cutting back all the grasses and I did weed quite a bit. All that was 200. Then I Edged with the edging machine and put down 6 yards of mulch. The mulch was 210 and the cost of edging and mulching was 300. Plus I had to pay to dump the debris. These prices are fair and to say I robbed you is an extreme overreach. I understand you are unhappy with the edging and weeding but I still did it and have agreed to come back and do it by hand which is very time consuming. I always want everyone to be happy, I am just on a very tight schedule right now and you are acting like I came through there with a bulldozer. I will still come back as soon as I get time. Again. I am sorry you feel this way and I will correct it to your standards but please do not threaten me.May 17, 2016, 12:36pm - [redacted]I don't call wanting something done right "threatening"! Also, the last I heard Hanover Gardens takes clippings for $0! I won't keep going back and forth like this! It's all 7th grade! However, I won't be a doormat! And , I won't wait until you are good and ready to do it! Because you are "so busy", you tell me when you can have it done. May 17,2016, 12:53pm - MillerOk, I will get back to you after I take a look at my schedule. And Im sorry you are mistaken, New Hanover gardens takes clippings free if you are a resident of the township because they are part of a township program. Landscapers have to pay $20-30 per truckload.May 17,2016, 1pm - [redacted]Ok good to know. So the extra $200 you charged to get rid of extra clippings was because you had 10 truckloads of clippings! Ok, like I said good to know. Thanks. May 17, 2016, 2pm - MillerNo, the 200 was for the 4 hours it took me to clean up all the clippings, cut down the grasses and weed. I charged you 20 to dump 2:42pm - MillerI have another proposal, since it looks like im too busy to get back there anytime soon. How bought I just send you a check for $100(for 2 hrs. with a company, or all day with a neighborhood kid) and you can pay someone else to do it. I just don't want to argue and I am just too busy, I'm already behind where I want to be on my schedule.2:44pm - MillerThat way we can both call it even on this thing and no one losesMay 17, 2016, 2:58pm - [redacted]NO! YOU SCREWED THIS UP, YOU NEED TO FIX ITASAP!May 17, 2016, 3:47pm - MillerNo need to yell, it was just a suggestion. What I want to know is I did the exact same mulch work 2 yrs ago and you were very happy with it and now it's junk?  Using that tone with me is uncalled for. The fact is I did the work already and you basically want me to come do more work for free and lose out on other work and put myself behind. I understand it ended up costing more than you thought, (I did give Eric a certain price but he dumped a bunch of extra work on me with no mention.)but because of that you are picking it apart. I've been more than patient with you, I came back and re-edge that small bed. I have suggested multiple solutions with which we could both be happy but you refuse to work with me. My final offer is I will send you a check for $125. And that's it. I work hard and I don't deserve to be treated like some hack. I understand weeds have come up, but I do not agree that the work was bad. I was going to re-edge to make you happy, not because I was scared of pictures.May 17, 2016, 3:54pm - [redacted]You did not do the edging two years ago! I did the edging when I was still able. I'm treating you like a hack because you did work like a hack! You just stated in your last text that I should get a neighborhood kid to do it! If I wanted a neighborhood kid to do it I would have gotten them to do it. I hired you because you were supposedly a professional. However, you did not do a professional job and you certainly are not acting professional! Either come and fix the job  THIS WEEK or pay the consequences! Up to you!June 14, 2016, 5:28pm - [redacted]Ok Josh. I think I have been more than patient! I will give you until this Friday, June 17, 2016. If you have not shown up by then and done the edging weeding, and applied the pre-emergent in a professional manner I will be forced to take action. I will definitely put lots of pictures and explanations on social media and I will be contacting the Revdex.com. Sent from my [redacted]
